Nice quick review Koriel! Now i know this computer is boned trying to run BS on it lol. E8600 OC, 4gb 1333mhz, gtx280 i hope it will make it run somewhat with that. The smoke from the flares look really tasty even in LO, but they are performance hungry. Thinking how well everything else in LO flows, the smoke could be better tweaked. If there is no guarantee for us that actually buy BS then we have a problem. Sims are one of the programs that will make people upgrade, upgrade and upgrade. And in that case if i cant know that i will be able to use BS that i purchase for full price, then like i said, there is a problem, a big one. What will i do then when the installs are out just because i upgraded to play BS in the first place. Will i become a pirate? Because i cant afford a new DVD at that time, but want to play as i just spent top dollar to play it? Ive been kinda sure about that ED would take care of us, but the more i read here the more concerned i get. I hope at least it wont come to that. that we upgrade for the sake of BS, and as we do, we run out of possibilities to fly it. I understand thats how this CP work. But still i think and hope we will be helped by ED if this happens. If not, then we dont really get support on the baught product in a way. Oh man, i dont know. I get confused lol. Groove just said though that even formatting your HD wont take away installations. Only if you change your hardware. So thats good! But i am down to losing installations because of hardware updating. This will have an impact on me as im upgrading my computer for BS. So i will lose installations just because i want to be able to fly BS good. And since i cant afford to have the computer fully done before BS release, i will have to get part by part when its installed... Ouch Hopefully there is some way to get some installations back if the worst scenario plays out. Or i have to buy it and leave it uninstalled until my computer is done. Now that would be tragic. We will see. Still have my faith. ;)

Rapid, i made a search for "HL2 torrent", and i read the comments on it. It seems its playable from the same copy with no problems. Seems impossible to play online though wich is good. But as a single player game i see only some people with limited computer skills unable to run it. So its not perfect, like everything else.

But thats the thing. Im one of those who dont mind activating the product if it makes ED feels safer. I do format my computer a lot so im also one of those that will need to get reactivations sooner or later. So far i feel that this is what im going to get from ED so thats why i dont worry. Now if i was given only 3 installs and had to buy a new copy, then that would be the end of BS for me probably since i wont buy something i dont know if i can use after a while. That even sounds stupid honestly. It cant go down like that, not when we can prove that we own the box. I dont think that ED would do that anyway. I will have faith until its released. No idea discuss it further until i see how it will be. :) Regards Alex

Completelly agree with you there Kuky. PDF manuals makes the pirates able to fully use the pirated programs. The sim people would buy the sim even if it was a bit more expensive due to a printed manual. However, a cracker can also scan the printed manual and release it as PDF along with the cracked sim. Much more work, but we know how much some of these people work to become (in)famous...

The thing is though that people that crave flight sims of this caliber WILL buy it. And since we who baught the sim can prove it also can reactivate more installations, i see no real problems. The real problem would be imo that later on ED wont support BS and the installations runs out. But if that happens, maybe there is an option to deactivate the limitation. Who knows. So maybe this is just paranoia from our side. Regards Alex

Just read the info and watch the videos and screenshots and youll get a good picture of what DCS is. New engine is coming later as you probably know where everything will be "better". For now DCS:BS "speciality" will be the highly realistic working helicopter Kamov 50, and the world around it is updated LO:FC. And the flyables will be working in the new engine as well (correct me if im wrong). So my advice is to buy DCS:BS when its released and you will be happy. Regards Alex

So with just basic 2 monitor setup i can have the shkval on 1? Thats great. For starters i put in a 15" i have for the shkval to test. Then im off to buy some small flat screen to add the shkval on. Man this is so fun. :) ...and expensive.

Well dear GG, its all the install, uninstall, download, upload that degrades my small HD. Im doing it a lot since i create a lot on it, and my HD is 80GB atm, so it gets full all the time and defrag progs cant handle it after a while so it looks like crap even though i defrag after installs/uninstalls. Also not long ago some virus snuck into my system and nothing could kill it - except *drumroll* a format. :) And when a computer is blasted, you really feel that it gets its power back! And that is really needed on this crappy piece of electronics. To be honest though, maybe it isnt needed all the time, but i usually do it once or twice a year. At least on this work hog. Im getting a brand new super duper machine for BS/ArmA2, and that one ill keep nice and tidy for the entertainment purpose only, and ill keep on abusing and formatting this one. :D Regards Alex

Its not just hardware, its about cleaning up the computer good. I use my computer HARD and a complete format from time to time is a very good thing. It makes sure you get all crap out of the system and also gain back all its power. I create, use and abuse my computer a lot. Defragging and anti virus progs does a good job, but not perfect. A complete blast is the only perfect cure. And its needed if you work with your computer to the max every single day. And it is MY computer, so nothing should dictate when or why i format it, especially since i baught everything that is in and around it. I think ED's decision will be good though, i have no fear on that. Its all good. :) Regards Alex

Cool video =FV=MAD! :thumbup: Something i always wanted is that the AI infantry could do more things. Im thinking of that they would have animations of loading trucks, talking to eachother with hand/body movements/gestures and a whole range of more life like animations that make the AI humans look like they actually are doing things. This would make stalking infantry with high power zoom optics much more fun and immersive. With the fast movers it isnt as important, but with the helos theres much bigger chance of stalking with zoom optics. And it would immerse you ten times more when you hover between some tree tops, zooming in to a camp and see that the enemy is going on with business as usual rather than just stand still and wait for you. :) PS: Im not asking if BS has this, nor is it a request (well engine2 :music_whistling:) but im just revealing a wet dream of mine. And sorry for this OT, but =FV=MAD's video triggered that memory. :) Regards Alex

As i understand it you have to open up things and play surgent right? Solder and things like that. I will look at their site and gather some info. Havent been looking so much because i was going to buy TrackIR. Im going to be set back a bit with $$$ as im buying so much to be ready for 2009, so freetrack might be my starter tracking device. :) Thanks Sobek!
