... it's well editted. Fits the music-to-movement element quite skillfully. But I have absolutely no idea of the highly detailed plot-line.

Hey bud, we host a Aussie Squadron. We had a dedictated server for DCS Black Shark supported by the AEF Inc, but it's currently down as we are relocating and updating our server. We will be privately hosting for our training multiplayer sessions in the meantime. Check out my sig address and have a read if your interested.

There is 2 possible places for good promotion for your team, the moderators would know more then I, but maybe http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=95 (or) http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=93 But not to worry mate. I think everyone is guilty of putting things everywhere. How is the team shaping up? If you guys get a good following, maybe ask the mods to place your team webpage on the front DCS Fan Sites section... http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?lang=en&end_pos=151&scr=default I hope your having a good time with it. :) Running a team can be very rewarding (and time draining lol).

Pity about the no dedictated server thing for the PC version. I know a virtual army of Call of Duty lifers that is in up-roar about PC gamers being left out in the cold. It's a trend now that X-Box and PS3 games are now being lazily ported to the PC, rather then the other way around. But I hope you have a great time with it, I will be buying this on PS3 for sure. :)

Yes. The best stable overclocks of the i7 CPU has been with high spec RAM (unknown about changing the multiplier - yet to try first hand) they are dependant on each other if you are after these results. It has been known on the OCZ's forums that overclocked i7's (3.8+GHZ) are paired with high spec RAM configurations, usually overclocked 2000MHz +. Also your motherboard has to be able to deal with this strain as noted previously.

Good to see the community developing for all ages groups included, it as great idea. I wish you the best. Would this be a better thread in the Multiplayer page? You might get a more target orientated response there? Just my 2 cents. Well done lads.

Ram and CPU speeds are still important and relative to the Frame Per Second. The i7 just uses and outputs RAM more effectively by having a native triple channel controller, to my limited knowledge. If you are going the Intel i7 920 CPU then there is no point in getting RAM faster the 1066 MHz as this is what it throttles the RAM speed to natively, unless you then overclock the RAM speeds in the BIOS. In which case you are then governed by the motherboard specs and it's ability to use the more expensive, higher MHz RAM. So, if you want to get into overclocking, then yeah, invest in better RAM, but if your the sort of builder/gamer that installs his hardware and doesn't play with it to extensively then I'd sit at 1066 MHz. A good article to read is Tom's Hardware review on this very topic. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/memory-scaling-i7,2325.html Hope this helps. I'm still learning about this as I go as well. Good Luck.

How to land when helo refuses to do so.
Deigs replied to DaveRindner's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
You would have to be one of the fastest pilots I've consistantly read about. :) -
I have a lot of faith in the smart people that run this site. I'm sure there will be an umbrella DCS forums with a seperate A10 & Ka-50 sections. If they have a chit chat forum page here for fun, then yeah, they'll make one for a completely new flagship game. It isn't a hard thing to muster up. I'm sure the boys upstairs will take care of it.

I needed an upgrade bad as I was avaeraging about 5-12 frames per second (made multiplayer kinda hard!). So I went the quad core i7 920. When looking for a motherboard, find one with 6 RAM slots, this means it'll use the triple channel memory controller thats a part of the i7 CPU architecture. Don't buy the 4 slot boards as you'll have a great CPU thats throttled unnecessarily. Brands are up to you, but I favor Gigabyte. GFX cards for DCS I'd start at the GTX 275. I went the GTX295 because I also play a lot of intensive 'pretty' games as well as DCS, but I wouldn't recommend that card to anyone working with a smart budget.

Well it was still a cool read, Thanks for sharing Drhow :)

Thanks Sarge. Still makes me laugh, I keep saying 'Chomp, Chomp, Chomp' everytime I see it. :megalol:

I will be buying this tech for sure. Just have to wait till the X mas crunch to the wallet is over, then BAM. 3D gaming for Deigs.... Can't wait.

How is the vest with games like ARMA? What is your thoughts on the product Ruprecht?
-
Just upload some of the most hardcore busy videos in DCS, watch the framerates. Use that as a benchmark?

Looked like a lot of ruprecht. I'm sad I missed it. The rigs there looks fantastic. -
Due to the massive activity (which is great) and the limited bandwidth on my players internet connection for his hosted server, you will need to pop into the AEF Ventrilo channels to get a password from us to join in. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. Grab the password and come fly with some Aussie pilots.

Cant wait for the future release of the AH64
Deigs replied to BlackFallout's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Well all my endorsement on the latter modules on my Oz site needs some changing then. We were all getting pumped for AH-64A after the A10-C module? Sad to hear that as we had a lot of die hard Apache wannabe's waiting for this (myself included). We are all waiting for some confirmation on this now I guess. But nothing is concrete till the ED team says so. I will wait patiently for any glowing words of confirmation on the DCS: Apache. In the meantime A10-C is going to be a very welcome simulator to the Oz market. -
cool vids mate. Loved em'!

Guys just a heads up. We have a hosted Australian server by an AEF 161 Sqn member, and there is no password and it is up during 'active hours'. It's called (AEF) 161 (Recce) Squadron. Feel free to pop on and catch up with other Aussie DCS fans and join us for some fun. You should also download Ventrilo Client and join us (161 Sqn) on comms. It makes the teamwork aspect a bit better when you can chat (easier then typing while the SAM's are flying overhead) The AEF's Ventrilo details are as follows: Vent channel / IP: 202.60.65.76 PORT: 4278 See you in the skies guys!

Note to the developers for the Apache AH-64A module
Deigs replied to Ivonq's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Yes. I am one of those people. -
I'm sure the big brains at DCS can throw something together. :) Hmmm, that's a shame. So no DCS: Phantom then? Well I can dream at least. It would be fun to play in the F-14 in DCS like game play.

She plays WoW on the laptop while I play DCS. We don't talk much though. A whole weekend can go past which a slight dinner inquiry and a compliment. 'It's just till I get the hang of it, darling'
-
I hope so. GO AH-64!!! to get my fix I watched Firebirds the other day. So lame. But I need some cool Apache scenes to tie me over. I love the screen shots of the A10. I wish I could do that.

Totally Agree. The F-14 was one of the most loved jets out there. Massive 2 seater for joint online flying (like the DCS: Apache will be?), long range Phoenix missiles, JDAM strikes, night carrier landings, inflight refueling, a heap of real life combat sortes from the gulf war, Maverick, 80's hair and aviator sunglasses, inappropriate beach volleyball scenes... It's all there when you look at one of those massive planes for the first time. Getting the right specs wouldn't be hard because it's all declassified now (surely?), and the fan base of one of these would extend into the main stream PC videogamers, not just for us simfreaks. If you wanna make a heap of cash. Make DCS: Tomcat Thats just my 2 cents.
