  1. Oh yeah, completly forgot about target designation. I have vague memories of holding down the TDC action keybind to slew the DMT faster. I might be going mad or i'm confusing it with some other module.
  2. Same page as the low alt warning. When you press ALT on the UFC, one of the ODU options is GPWS. Press that ODU button (removing the ":" next to it) to disable the pull up warnings for 20 or 30 minutes, cannot remember which.
  3. Slewing TDC in INS is not implemented yet. The TDC action is to simulate pushing down the slew control, kinda like the ministick on a PS/XBOX controller. The one purpose I can say right now is that it lets you slew much faster. But I also think it has purposes for when to set a target and such. I have to read the manual on that again.
  4. One place I remember is when you try to align using the full procedure, but forget one value (Enter LAT/LON but forget MVAR) the time will flash as full 0 across the EHSD screen. I can get a track later of that.
  5. A standard "redfor" skin would really be useful. Especially for servers with a limited plane set, missing IFF and such. Visual is the best way to see if you're about to shove a sidewinder up a bad guys tail pipe. Just a simple Yak-38 like skin would be good.
  6. Yup, it is most probably the INS. In special options, there is a field where you can select to have your INS pre-aligned. Select that if you don't want to wait for it.
  7. You can modifly the ALE-47 file somewhere in the games directory to change the default programs. This will reset every time the game is updated, but with something like JGSME you can create a "mod" that fixes it each update. I can send my modification if you want it. For Dee-Jay, some people like me find it easier to spam the button. Might not be as effective as a program, but with the limited amounts the Viper has, it can help.
  8. It is a known bug that is fixed. While waiting fo ED to release the next patch, you can follow this. It does not prevent you from playing multiplayer.
  9. Warnings and a section in the start checklist from the manual-that-shan't-be-named suggest it is DC powered, meaning battery. So yes, it appears correct. Seems reasonable too, if the generator fails, being able to see engine status is still quite important.
  10. I have never believed that to be true when it comes to systems modelling. 3D model, sure, but not the actual fun stuff. This is reinforced if you look at their bugtracker, most tasks are Mirage related. Either they are not using it, which is bad, or they hide their actual tasks which seems counterproductive for a public bugtracker. I try to be optimistic about all this, but even I get pessimistic when it is required.
  11. And yet again, I will say that as it looks currently, they are focusing on the Mirage. It is the first module they started ignoring and they are now back to fixing things there first. There has been small fixes here and there in the Harrier that I have noticed were not in the changelogs. So things are happening, but Razbam, please, give the Harrier all the love it needs. I hate to say it, but many of these constant complainers have valid points and bugs that need to be fixed. If only they could slow down a bit and stop filling the forums with the same complaints constantly. The best way to do that would be to start fixing things and bringing the Harrier up to the same standard as most other modules. Please don't become another Polychop.
  12. A sad thing I can add too: Your X52 might have a "large" deadzone in the center position. My old X52 had that and it made flying with precision a proper pain in the ass. To that there is no real fix I know of. If your stick is like that, then you simply have to hamfist your way down. Or buy a new, better stick. That helped me immensely.
  13. This approach used to work for me, but an update about ~2 months back broke this for me, therefore my new approach. This bug just gets weirder and weirder.
  14. I trim it to be close, then I stabilise the last bit with the stick. In hover flight it acts like a helicopter, meaning there is not real trimmed out flight. Therefore you can get it close and then you have to wrangle it the last bit.
  15. Sadly, there is a difference between multiplayer missions and multiplayer missions. I guess you have made this mission yourself? I have not gotten that trick to work in those missions. But if you load up something like Through the Inferno, it will work. I don't know enough to say exactly what the difference is. Somebody who makes missions could probably explain that part better.
  16. I wrote this in another thread, so you'll get the summary: The Mirage came first. They stopped updating it first. Seems fair they focus on the Mirage first then, right? There is a ~1 year backlog, since they slacked off for over a year. So it will take time to get back on track. What they did was shitty, yes. But they are coming back. There has been some small updates for the Harrier in the last few patches that have not been in the changelogs. So just chill out and let Razbam work.
  17. Select Harrier on Tarawa -> Flight delayed ->Escape menu -> Select role ->Back to spectators (bottom left corner) -> Select same slot again -> Should work Works about 90% of time for me. But is limited to multiplayer.
  18. The JPTL works by limiting fuel fed to the engine to keep temperature within limits. So switching to manual fuel should bypass the JPTL (I think, have to check the manual-that-shall-not-be-named again). Problem is that JPTL warning can mean a lot of possible failures. I can be from a DECU failure and that is "fixed" by switching to secondary DECU. But the guaranteed way to "fix" is to turn off JPTL and switch to MFS. Then you have to manually keep the engine within limits, but you also won't be limited by a faulty system. If that is modelled in DCS, of course.
  19. The APU only provides electrical power. The hydraulics are run with pumps run off the engine, so loss of engine power means loss of hydraulics. Loss off JPTL is weird. Depending on actual damage, you should be able to switch to the Manual Fuel System to continue flight, but i've not had that succeed too well. But loss off both hydraulics or loss of engine is almost always an eject situation.
  20. It sounds like you entered the '9' into REF/LOLA instead of TAKT. That would give you a waypoint at 900000/000000 which is far away from anywhere. My thoughts at least.
  21. I would've watched, but you timed it up perfectly with the Halo launch...
  22. The Mirage was released first. Seems only fair that it gets most of the love now, right? Then onto the Harrier? Since they slacked off for over a year, it will take a lot of time to fix the large backlog on both aircraft, so i'm not expecting anything big for the Harrier for a while. Though they could actually update the bug tracker on their site. It contains none of the new Harrier bugs.
  23. Try connecting ground power before you turn the knob to SEA. The Harrier is aligned with the help of the ships INS when at sea, which is simulated with the ground power connection in DCS. Guess somebody did not check if ground power is connected when it attempts to align using it. Create a bug report for this. It is a unique bug and not tied to the other INS CTD. Surprised nobody has found it before. But most of your other points are still valid.
  24. I think the reason it works for rockets is that in real life, the practice rocket pods are the exact same as the regular ones, with the exception that they can be set to fire a single rocket per signal. That was deemed enough to stretch the truth with the ingame rocket pods. But I guess there is no equivalent for the bombs then. Sure it makes it hard to do repeated practice runs, but I don't know if it can be done in any way.
  25. Like watching paint dry. Except I think paint drying is more interesting than most bugfixing i've ever done. God that would be a painful competition.
