  1. I thought about that approach, but the way my joystick sits between my legs, I can't actually reach and hold the pinky in a reasonable way. That's why I went with this approach. It works for me, and if anybody is interested, I could send the profile (Though I have changed some keys in DCS itself to fit the X52 profile)
  2. For my old-school X52, I have started using the "Mode" rotary on the stick. Different modes changes the output of the slew on the throttle and also the trigger itself. Mode 1 concerns the radar, and the trigger becomes the T1/Tv trigger. In mode 2 the throttle slew switches between Master Modes. In mode 3 it slews the RB05 and trigger acts as safety/fire. Then there is just some general stuff, brake, ATT AP, reference, T0 , radar range/mode etc. Both slews on the stick is trim hat and view.
  3. I wouldn't say that the 19 hydra tubes replaced the smaller amounts. I remember that certain groups flew gunships with only 19-tubes and a grenade launcher (and gunners, off course) while other groups flew with 7-tubes and pilot controlled miniguns. This is simply because they couldn't just strap on all the weapons they could because of the enviroment in Vietnam, and lighter loadouts made them able to actually fly.
  4. The performance problems probably stemmed from the fact that Vietnam is very moist, warm and in many places, at high altitudes. They also flew old UH1B/Cs as gunships, and their engine power wasn't really comparable to the 80's UH1H that we have. EDTI: Realized that I answered the wrong question. This is from memory, but early UH1B gunships carried mainly small amounts of rockets with quad-M60s and doorgunners that used M60s. ARA (Aerial Rockt Artillery) carried shitloads of rockets, and in certain cases were equipped with 40mm grenade launchers. Later in the war with the upgraded C and M model hueys, they started carrying more rockets and forward facing miniguns. Certain gunships carried only rockets in 19-hydra tubes and had grenade launchers and door gunners with M60s.
  5. I quite enjoy flying sideways, makes landings so much funnier.
  6. It's a little bit windy, right? Like, flying 20 degrees off-bore windy?
  7. Team fishbed 46-28 Team fishbed 38-22
  8. Well, now i've done it all... Tried dropping the bombs I had on my stub wings, ended up with only one gun pod and a bomb on one of the wings against 2 jets and a Gazelle. Thankfully the jets spared me after the showdown.
  9. hory sheet, I'm in love!
  10. Dear god, Grandmaster of Teasing is at it again!
  11. I'd say a CH47A. Mainly because you'd possibly also get this as a subvariant:
  12. The Viggen talks to my reptile brain, and screams "THIS IS WHAT RAW POWER LOOKS LIKE", that is the beauty of the Viggen. And canard/delta, combination never fails
  13. Holy shit, that's around 7 minutes of total fuel time. I can easily see myself running out of fuel a bit too many times...
  14. As brutal as it is, this video doesn't make justice for how loud and awesomely powerful it is. When standing at the front of the airshow, the earplugs didn't seem to help when it pointed the engine at ya. Shook my entire body.
  15. Got lots of great pictures of the viggens, makes me excited for the digital rendition of it. (And I spent much time close to the Blackhawks... hehe)
  16. The server that keeps on giving, atleast in the pain department. Thought the ride was kinda bumpy after getting hit by a shilka. Well, they didn't get me this time...
  17. You'd be lucky to explode in the vicinity of a flying barn with those, or fly without breaking radar lock. They are more or less radar guided reverse-engineered AIM-9s with slightly longer range (7isch km if I remember correctly).
  18. No need to torture us swedes that hard...
  19. Was there too, and having a MASH or something closer would help, even though taking two passengers, it still wasn't enough time to save all the people in that area. Was fun dodging SAMS with a Huey though.
  20. Seeing both the unveiling of the Gripen E and see a Gripen do manouvers over me in the same day makes want this plane even more. Can't wait to see this beauty Leatherneck!
