This really belongs in PMs, not out in the open, since this is a personal deal between you and others. But I will say what I can see as a outsider of the discussion. You act like a troll in that you refuse to see the angle that others were presenting to you, which you instead responded to with vaguely hostile and honestly, childish comments. Yes, you have flown the real deal and know more about the plane than anyone here will ever know. But in the sim that is not always applicable. Bugs appear and we must learn to work around them until they are patched. Others tried to tell you this and how you could mitigate the bugs, but you simply refused to even consider it. Flying safe at night is a reasonable thing to expect, but when the simulation shits itself, you need to adapt until it is fixed. I guess there are similar things to how a real pilot needs to be able to deal with the unexpected. Just what I could see.

Yes, you need at least one countermeasures pod. The AJ Viggen never had internal countermeasures, even though there were places to mount them. I guess it was considered not needed due to how it was supposed to operate.
-
That is most definitely a bug. Simply has not been fixed yet. Would be very nice if it could be.

You can actually use the large green area around the pads. If you land there you can still refuel and rearm. This enables you to carry a lot more than with pure VTO. The attached picture shows how I've used it. But yes, we need a more practical way to do it.

You are also using Hydras. The old FFAR version we get in the 19 round pods is something like a sawed off shotgun. You can not fire singles and expect results, they need to be fired in bursts. They are inaccurate as all hell. Though it is possible they have changed rocket type, that could mess with the ballistics. I need to test it myself. But still ripple fire them.

"AG Target Undesignate / NWS / FOV Toggle" button
Marsvinet replied to key_stroked's topic in AV-8B N/A
There was a discussion a while back, and some smart fella noted that it was for the -65F/G. Apparently you cannot change the FOV without breaking lock, so the button will do both (break lock and increase/decrease FOV). This is not implemented for the Harrier currently. -
It was acknowledged on Reddit. There we also got to know that the problem is on EDs side. So not really resolved, but I guess resolved on Razbams end.

Best thing ever! I don't even need the Viggen anymore! Got to level 8 on my first attempt. I think that tells me I should use the Nintendo missile a lot more.

You have to remember, Idle_Wild, the Harrier is limited by weight in many cases. Sure, you CAN carry 2xMk83 on a pylon. But I would bet on that it would never even be considered to be used unless there was literally nothing else flying that could, since it diminishes the Harriers unique abilities. The Harrier sacrifices the heavy loads and speed for the flexibility of landing and taking off just about anywhere. It is a CAS aircraft, so heaviest load is not a priority. Instead it can do 3-4 flights before anything that can carry heavier stuff has had the time to do one flight. Because of this and it's V/STOL abilities, the real aircraft is not even rated for Mk-84s and their guided siblings. Therefore the chances of getting a GBU-31 are slim to none.

I have now flown the Mi8 for about 8 hours this weekend. Picking up people all around Mt. Elbrus is a both thrilling and zen experience. I love this server and I thank you for running it! Some feedback I have is that I think there should be some more time for pickups, like hover 15-20 seconds instead of the 5 now. Might be something that you could set yourself, but some longer times to simulate the hoisting or people running to the helicopter and getting in. A thing I would like personally, but that might not be well received over all would be random failures. Instead of enemies shooting you, the enemy is your own helicopter. Could be fun if some slots had it, at least.

Refresher on JDAMs. I get no weapon release
Marsvinet replied to DmitriKozlowsky's topic in AV-8B N/A
No, for those Pre-Planned targets you select them via the UFC/ODU. The TOO is selected via TPOD designation and holding WP increment to transfer data to JDAM as T0. -

To drop JDAMs in TOO, you have to hold the WP increment when you have designated a point in the TPOD. This will tell the JDAM to use T0 (The "common target point"). I don't remember the bug now, but you have to do the WP increment two times the first time you do it in a flight. -

Are you designating the target for the JDAM by holding WP increment? And if you are doing that, are you doing it twice since it appears bugged right now? -
I like the idea. I'll send my email, but I make no promises. No energy for anything these days. Hopefully this can help.
-
Huh, I'll be damned. Did not know that was wrong. Guess I missed it in the NATOPS.
-
Yep, this is the low texture problem. You need to have your cockpit textures above "Low" to see all the elements.
-
Are you on stable or open beta? There is a bug that appears to be gone from open beta regarding this. Summed up, it locks the DMT to the right screen when you designate a target and have a weapon selected for CCIP delivery... I think...

I had no experience creating camos, but the FOA camo is very newbie friendly to create, considering I was able to create this. I just used the line marking tool in GIMP and experimented a little bit. As long as you have the "rules" of the camo you can create something that is extremely close to the real deal. Plus, when you start to stitch together the same piece over and over again, it will start to look weird as you've noticed. Try it.
-
Exactly as Orso said. One example is that during startup you need to press either of the buttons ~30 times when you're just on battery power. Need to train that index finger.
-
In the top left of your screens it says TV, meaning the DMT is the selected sensor. You need to press sensor select up to make the Maverick the selected sensor (and by extension, the selected weapon).
-
That is just the time that it will take to reach the next waypoint at the current speed. TOT is much more advanced, where it tells you what speed you need to reach the expected waypoint at the exact time specified in the flight plan. That advanced part (Probably more, haven't read that part in the NATOPS) is not implemented.

You can remove the rear cargo doors in the mission editor. The front door is not removable I think. But when you add the front gunner, the front door is locked back. Is that close enough?
-
It is very much so and has been able to for a while. You enter the code from just about any MFD page (but DMT might be the easiest), then on the TPOD page you unsafe the laser on the top row, change from TRNL to MRKR and at that point you can fire the laser.
