  1. Please don't hit me. I wear (sun) glasses.
  2. That was, with Jester Lantirn, one instrumental functionality we hoped to see one day when we wrote the review of the Tomcat for checksix-fr.com. Great news, really.
  3. Well, I tested with a carrier very close to the shore at Kobuleti. 6.1 onboard the ship, as well as ashore. The bug must be in the keyboard-chair interface.
  4. It does. But the headings don't match what's in the editor's map.
  5. When I start a mission from a carrier on Caucasus, whether the F-14B is hot or I start it up and let Jester do his job, the MVAR is set to 4.8 instead of 6.1. On a field, on the same map, it's correctly set to 6.1. Did I miss something ? Didn't try on SOH yet.
  6. That's my opinion. Let the Hoser spirit flow through us. Easily embarrassed people should never get in a fighter squadron's readiness room for the sake of their health :D
  7. For sure I can't forget that once upon a time, I was one of the first to buy an A-10C 95% finished for 50% the price of a Viper or a Hornet today.
  8. Did they? In terms of designation pod only, they promised an ATFLIR. As the ATFLIR timeline skyrocketed to the moon, they promised a Litening to soften the waiting. And it's still considerably WIP.
  9. I’m absolutely not sure that, let’s say, a hardcore A-7E, is more easy to sell than an F/A-18C. That’s an issue in terms of income. And it doesn’t solve the core maintenance problem.
  10. You're allowed what you want, I ain't no boss. But hell, dude, the topic is the development of the Hornet, its balance with the Viper's one and all induced effects. It seems important to me (seen? I said "me") that this discussion stays peaceful. No hard feeling :)
  11. Wise people don't pollute a debate on a collective subject with personal considerations. If you don't like each other, go fight by PM and let us discuss in peace.
  12. The question is all about cash. Selling a module makes cash come in, and that's undoubtedly why the Viper was released so early. Correcting old core flaws costs money (many hours of labor for no induced income). Hence the idea of the subscription model. Making modules costs money, selling them earns money. Today, working on the core's flaws costs money but earns nothing. The subscription model's purpose is to make money get in to finance maintenance and evolutions of the core. Lucky you. Because the topic is all about the acceleration of this business towards a wall harder than it.
  13. Once again, I agree. Among us, only a fool could wish for ED anything else than long-term success. But trust can not be and must not be a one-way street.
  14. I strongly agree. While not being able to properly quantify the phenomenon like a polling institute could do, I see around me a lot of people who confidently bought the Hornet and didn't buy the Viper. And I'm one of them. After more than 20 years playing military flight sims online, it's the first time I feel so little enthusiasm at the release of a major plane like the F-16. Sad and worrying feeling.
  15. Can't wait to see what new module they'll need to release in order to develop the originally intended ATFLIR. Because you guys remember that the Litening is not exactly what we were initially waiting for, right ?
  16. From the rear seat, the same way as you enter latitude and longitude : clear, then alt (key #4), then the altitude in feet, then press enter and you're done. Unfortunately, if you're online, you can't go to the RIO seat, so it's impossible.
  17. Auto throttle can't be engaged otherwise. So the answer is no.
  18. Are you sure you've thrown them hard enough? :noexpression: With which finger did you pull the trigger? I'll check that. Even though my original post was mostly meant to be a joke for the Tomcat community and a tribute to our fabulous Turkey and those who built it and make it even better over time. :)
  19. Did you try to activate the auto throttle (after having downed landing gear and flaps) in another mission ?
  20. Well, well after some first tests and no offense to haters, I find it nice, this F-16. They did well to take it out so soon, finally. And I find the damage model very nice! Thank you guys! :pilotfly: Some pictures, better than a long speech! Personally, I am in love. This F-16C really falls right. I think my F-5E is going to be unemployed... :D
  21. My post was not about the lethal effects of exploding ammo and fuel trucks.
  22. I was among the first to buy and use the A-10C. 8 years ago IIRC. And the hilarious damage model of bombs and rockets, which don't even kill soft targets without a direct hit, was already the only true limitation to that tremendous module. Oh no, there also was the incredible LOS problems which affected the JTACs on the ground. I have to admit that even with someone who can discuss that with me, I'm becoming really difficult to relax. Because the same old core Bravo Sierra is now affecting some great modules like the one we're talking about here. 8 years later.
  23. It's been like you say for 8 years now. One of the most disturbing DCS World's core limitations. And nobody cares. Thank you ED, we love you.
  24. Those who know... :pirate:
