  1. [DCS BUG] GBU 24s won't track the laser I made the same test against a plane shelter with all the GBUs useable by the F-14 B : -10, -12, -16 and -24. Among all those, the first three work flawlessly. Only the -24 has the problem. Even if I fire the laser quite soon, the GBU-24 doesn't track it and falls quite long. I run the OB 2.5.4.29167. Here's a track. F14B-GBU-24-fail.trk
  2. *Bump* again, with a link to your other topic and all the detailed info you posted there, related to the problem. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=235746
  3. Who would have done such a silly thing ? ... ... ... ... Seriously asking ! :( ... ... Well, by the way... :pilotfly: When your wife tells you "Darling, we have to upgrade your PC", you STFU and you upgrade your PC. Don't you ? :D
  4. DCS's electronic warfare is a notorious weak point. Thank God, that will change in two more weeks.
  5. After some testing on the latest OB, it seems that chaff has lost any kind of efficiency. The same engagements H v AI reproduced with and without using chaff show no difference. Beaming works (in the tests below, I didn't use beaming BTW); manoeuvering to leak out the missile's energy works; chaff don't. Here are 4 Tacview archives. Two without chaff, two with chaff. The OpFor is an AI "excellent" Hornet. Tacview.zip
  6. The double crew allows to share the workload induced by the meteorological conditions.
  7. As long as the APU or GPU has fuel to burn.
  8. Happy birthday,Turkey !
  9. Which brings us back to the basics : situational awareness makes more than 50% of the job – which means that without getting it enough, you die. It will obviously be an issue when you face multiple AIM-54 launches in TWS out of visual range. In closer range engagements, the Phoenix will be a problem for the Tomcat due to its drag and weight, but nobody will ask for one shot against him while at low speed. Nor at full speed : try to hard-turn with a Hornet around Mach 1 with a Fox-3 locked on you and tell me if you feel the need for speed... By the way, I'm absolutely sure that those who wait for the Phoenix to be some kind of destruction spell able to clean up the skies without proper skills and work will cry the hell out of their whole being... :D I'm absolutely sure the Turkey will give us a lot of fun, whether we are driving it or a M 2000C or Hornet to face it!
  10. It is not, no doubt about that. There will be one interesting question about the missile's turn radius: what happens after the motor burn time is elapsed and the missile has slowed down? That will make the equation way more complex than "what is the missile's turn radius at its maximum speed?", above all if you can't see the missile, which will be common case.
  11. The current AIM-54 is obviously a joke. I am too, from the Tomcat's front and rear cockpit as well as from an adversary's point of view. And I'm quite sure that we'll hear two kinds of bitter feedback : from those who hope they'll instantaneously kill the game by carrying 3 tons of AIM-54s under their Tomcat, and from those who think that the AIM-54 is an eye-candy chipped stone only designed to kill sitting ducks... :D
  12. Thank God, we all know where the missile we're evading is and every detail about its flight path, so math on turn performance gets all the job done ;)
  13. Will the HARM integration feature the Lockheed Martin TAS ? This targeting system, located in the pylon, uses a set of interferometers and makes it possible to know the distance to the target, which makes the use of the HARM way more efficient.
  14. If a GPS effect is possible, it can only occur in IFA mode. Not in Nav. So we have to try in Nav mode. What I don't understand is why you have to set the IPP if IFA is to be used. In the A-10C, the EGI picks up the IPP from the GPS before aligning the INS.
  15. When nobody has a problem but you, the problem is with you. Read what has been explained to you. Or not. As you want. No hard feelings.
  16. As said before, you have to write the inputs in DMS (Degrees, Minutes, Seconds). In DCS World settings, change the coordinates option to DMS so the map and the F2 view show the good value. Your setting is probably DD (Decimal Degrees).
  17. "Israeli requirements" means here "Israeli parts designed to replace those not delivered by the French or not retro-engeniered". Kfir C2 standard ? Cool ! A J-79 engine ! Huh, no. An Israeli-made atar 9C. Well, OK. With Shafrir missiles. Well, a daylight bomber as I said. With Fox-2s. Less than an F-5E. Historically cool, but with a short life span on our drives.
  18. A Dagger is historically a downgraded Mirage III, without its radar and advanced avionics. What a Dagger is able to do, a Mirage III is able too. But a Dagger is just a daylight attack aircraft, while a Mirage III is an all weather fighter with the same air to surface capabilities as the Dagger. So not voting because you don't know which Mirage III will be modeled is, IMHO, a little bit of nonsense.
  19. Well, 400 out of 800 people buzzing in this forum just went away. Welcome home, Hornet!:D
  20. An interesting piece about the AGM-65E back in production and why it's still needed (2014). https://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/raytheon-restarts-production-of-laser-maverick-missiles-05397/
  21. Wasn't implemented? I've been self-lasing GBU-12s and GBU-16s for months. Not sure about when, but I found one of my posts on another forum announcing that the GBU-16s worked well with the T-Pod. That was dec 23 2017.
  22. Problem auto-solved. Don't ask me how, I really don't know...
  23. I had no problem since the DCS 2.5 beta beginings. Today, I have DCS has stopped working" on every startup. I tried a repair with no success. I tried to delete the saved games folder with no more success. Here's my log file. dcs.zip
  24. Great, Zeus. Many thanks!
  25. Slewing is essential to maintain the laser spot in view from the bomb on some targets (cylindrical or round for example) according to the evolutions of the plane. And I do not find this TDC safety in any official documentation.
