  1. Nope, you don't miss anything. That's how goggles work in real life. If you look at cockpit instruments through the goggles the will be blurried because you can't focus them under NVG's. Except that you can glance underneath them in real life. That's the big downside in VR right now.
  2. Mhh, well no. Doesnt seem to run that bad on my rig. Its a bit more hungry than the huey when you turn the tv on of course, but without im able to maintain 45fps for most of the time with a less powerful pc (ryzen 1600 and gtx1080). Have you tried it on different locations? And on which map are you using it?
  3. I have a 1600 (non X) "boostet" to 3.7GHZ. Together with a GTX 1080 it runs pretty decent with my Rift!
  4. Perfect! Thanks for the answear!
  5. So, are the latest two changelogs already implemented or do we have to wait for the next ED patch?
  6. Also experienced that. Big improvements every hotfix! ED seems to work really hard on the performance issue right now. Every hotfix a big improvement! For me, it seems that the VRAM is getting used more "wisely" now. Before the hotfix i had a single player VRAM usage of 8GB (running VR on a 1080) which is now down to 5-6GB. Multiplayer is still using 7.5GB but only on huge servers with a lot 30+ players. Other than that it runs pretty smooth. Settings are PD 1.2, 2 x MSAA, Shadows flat, Visibility High. In winterseason and caucasus map really eye-candy (even in VR)!
  7. Nice! Just curious...is the latest changelog already implementiert in the latest hotfix? Or are we seeing the improvements in the nett update?
  8. Me too. I have a GTX 1080 and am using VR. For single Player usage, i was at around 5-6GB VRAM. Multiplayer is nearly using the 8GB. What helped a little for me was lowering Terrain Textures to LOW (no difference in texture quality but less VRAM usage) and turning Textures to Medium (difference from high to low is barely noticable in VR at least).
  9. Yes! Thanks so much! She get's better and better! Keep the good work up Polychop!
  10. Also on 1.2PD and 2 x MSAA. Good results here with deferred shaddows on, shaddows flat and visibility medium to high (depending) with a GTX 1080 (non ti). Also tried 1.0 PD and 4 x MSAA. Also good results with less jaggies but a little less performance and a more bluried cockpit. I'm still not shure which option to take...
  11. Wow! What a great post! Thanks a lot for your work! I can't wait to jump back in and optimize a lot (especially VRAM - GTX 1080 and VR)!
  12. Ahh, thanks for the heads-up!
  13. What i recognized yesturday while flying MP was that my GPU Ram in my 1080 was fully used (8GB) while the GPU was used at around 60%. Don't know if someone else observes this odd behaviour?
  14. Sorry dude, but i wouldn't consider a 1060 as decent when it comes to VR. A lot of people are using a 1080 or 1080ti and still struggling to find perfect settings.
  15. Thanks for the reply! Since i don't have steamVR (running on DCS standalone) i'll try FCAT!
  16. Superb work! Hoping for 2.5 results! But (for a noob) how do you measure the CPU frame times? Is there a sort of tool? Would be curious to test it with my rig (Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.7Ghz)
  17. As my ISP does! I'm also in Germany using unitymedia. I tried to call them two different times asking for IPv4. No chance! Maybe it's worth to try it another time telling i need it for the S-2-S VPN ;) If it works, I owe you a beer, Bit! ;)
  18. Well: I firstly turned my cockpit shadows to low and set STANDARD for scenery then I put my PD down to 1.2 (from 1.4) and therefore turning MSAA up to 4x!!! Then tweaking the bushes/grass a bit (reducing it to 50% ish). I can't complain now! It's running much smoother than in Nevada or Normandy. I get steady 45FPS with minor drops down to around 40 during landing when the downwash appears. Other than that, i'm really satisfied! But only tested single player with little enemy action... Specs are: Ryzen 1600 @ 3.7Ghz MSI GTX 1080 16GB RAM SSD
  19. Can't place any units of USAF Aggressors in ME. I can select them, but they don't appear on the map in the ME if i left-click in the map. I also checked the unit list on the left bar in ME. No problems so far with Russian Forces.
  20. Sounds great Borchi!
  21. Experience from the real world: Fuel quantity no, loadout maybe. As for fuel: Tanks are build within the Center point of gravity to counter the effect that if you burn Fuel, the h/c is running out of cg limits (which totally makes sense when you think about ot from an engeneers perpective). As for loadout: it depends...if you load two hot, one on each side it wont have an significant impact on cg. If you load the same two hot to one side only it will.
  22. Good to know and thanks for the reply. I know, there are lots of more components to it than just the load factor. But it not only aplies to airplanes. Load factor is used for helicopters too. So, the numbers you've stated are more or less simply that: the correlation between bank angle and load factor (and therefore the percentage of extra TQ needed to maintain altitude and speed). It works pretty well now with the Gazelle! I don't know what exactly you did with the last FM update, but it seems to work fine for me. I even tried different bank angles yesturday with the calculated extra TQ needed and it worked well (in fact, it still is very tricky to hold a 60° bank angle while maintaining altitude and speed - but this is mainly a Joystick vs real life cyclic issue)! But, sorry, i'm hijacking a thead...so i will stop here ;)
  23. Hey sorry, my question wasn't supposed to be offensive. I was just confused because i didn't read your post carefully enough. I thought, you would state that you always have to add 41% TQ to maintain a level flight at 45° bank. No matter what your current used TQ is at that moment. But you are totally right! It depends on the load factor which is increasing during a turn. As stated, it is in fact always like that in every helo. It's just physics.
  24. Borchi, first of all, thanks for the info. But could you state where exactly you got the numbers from? Tbh, i can't believe they are true and the same for every helicopter.
