RE: Simple Radio Yesterday, we had a package consisting of 5xF15C, 3xA10C, 2xUH1H, 1xSA342, plus GCI. All aircraft had a common frequency dedicated to GCI, another for flight comms, and the helos had another freq to monitor that the A10s would broadcast on when the target was cleared. We also had one guy on TS for some reason or another. Comms were clear as a bell. All that Fox 2/Rifle/Gear Up/Go Wedge bullshit was on their own frequencies. :) It took just a little pre-flight planning for comms to get in order, but nothing extraordinary. And although we failed miserably with our task, as far as comms were concerned I couldn't have been more pleased. I created an interactive frequency planner to supplement Simple Radio, and to aid in the comms plan for the different aircraft, and I'll share it for you. It also includes pre-set frequencies to check against for Round 8 - i.e. planes that can't customize frequencies but have a preset knob. It works for Blue and Red. Enjoy. There may be some issues, but you can PM me to fix it, or you can download it locally and do it yourself. No worries. Frequency Planner Link

There is a target list. (1) PAK info, (2) real time map, (3) stand-alone real-time desktop map, and for GCI, (4) health label of known units turned on in the F10 map. The tools are there. You just have to use them.

I tried it for the first time yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised. The setup was astoundingly easy. In literally 5 minutes after the download (not counting joining the server and applying power to my radios), I was on 3 freq's and listening to GCI and talking to my flight. I even jumped in a JTAC vehicle and lased/smoked targets at Maykop. I had radios for that, as well - in the goddamned jeep. :) The documentation could use some love, but JFC, the application is great.

And 4 years later in Mogadishu, RPGs were pretty successful - 2 x Blackhawks.

Yea, that's what I was saying, but I did come off as an entitled jackass. I don't think he was being nasty just to be nasty - it's just a response to my posts' tone. He's right - WWII was pretty awesome I heard. Suck it up and play Korea or wait for the next round. No skin off my teeth.

EDIT: bah - misread last reply and tried to be snarky.

Yea, let's modify an event that has for the last 11 months catered to the entire community and make it so only people with certain modules can join. Great idea.

When I reinstalled DCS a while back, my TrackIR axis were assigned to my pitch and roll. Check that.

* Map/check key binds to keyboard/numpad for fast data entry instead of mouse clicking, especially the LSKs and Page up/Page down. * Set new bullseye to predefined point/navaid/wp * Show bullseye on HUD for fast reference * Can use WP number instead of name of WP for building flight plan * Show GS on MFD CDU repeater for taxi speed/NWS disengage

As above, but use JSGME.

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 7

Radar AD are not engaging at airfields or deployed KUBs. Not even getting spikes. -
Kimi from the 476th posted video last year consisting of different bomb runs, rockets, and guns. Take a look at how he's tipping into the target(s) and lining up. If you can catch his kneeboard he pulls up a few times, it would help in understanding the profile and how he's executing it. He's got links in the description to skip to the relevant parts of the video.

Completely unexpected.

I found on the initial install of DCS (Warthog/TIR/Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals), my rudder axis were mapped to pitch and roll, rather than yaw. Remove your axis, and reapply - starting with your rudder?

To be expected from a being from Limbo. :)

That is awesomely creepy. -
Are you are setting your radios to the correct frequency and using the correct key/hotas button to activate them? If you are used to Easy Comms - set in Options, this may be your issue. http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/w/images/e/e4/DCS_A-10C_Warthog_Radio_Tutorial.pdf

Some insight into the OBAT and the general area these forces are stationed. With a little searching of Google Earth and the like, I was able to find exactly what you were looking for: A military base with a train depot right next to it (Krtsanisi). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georgian_Armed_Forces Also this from Wikipedia
Name Location Ministry of Defence Headquarters Tbilisi Vaziani Military Base near Tbilisi Krtsanisi Military Base near Tbilisi Akhalkalaki Military Base Akhalkalaki Alekseevka Airbase near Tbilisi Marneuli Airbase Marneuli Bolnisi Airbase near Tbilisi Gori Military Base Gori Senaki Military Base Senaki Poti naval base Poti Mukhrovani Military Base Mukhrovani Kutaisi Military Base Kutaisi Khelvachauri Military Base Khelvachauri Khoni Military Base Khoni Batumi naval base Batumi
And from Wiki-Leaks: https://wikileaks.org/gifiles/attach/134/134833_GeorgiaMilitary.docx The Wiki-Leaks doc actually has some pretty interesting information.

Oh, man. You guys have knocked it out of the park with this one. Seriously, this is a great resource. As far as typos, etc., there aren't too many, considering the volume of information. I've documented a few below, after a quick once over. Keep in mind, I'm no grammar expert, nor am I a technical pub author. I may be far off base with my observations, and if anything I have noted below is incorrect, please accept my apologies. Also note, all page numbers refer to the PDF reader paging, rather than the numbers on the document pages. Punctuation Page 16 2.2.1.3 Prioritizing Tasks First paragraph, second sentence. Extra punctuation (period). Style (case) Page 18 2.2.6 Mission Planning Last item in list, NOTAMS - Consider NOTAMs instead. Unsure of the word Notices, as it is obviously used in a plural manner. Style Entire document Inconsistent usage of e.g. Some instances use the American style (with a comma after the period), and others use the British style (no comma). Punctuation Page 32 2.8.2 Unusual Attitude Recovery Second paragraph, first sentence. An unusual attitude may be recognized by looking out the canopy; by observing the ADI; or by noting unusual or unexpected indications on the performance instruments. Consider using commas instead of semi-colons. Punctuation Page 32 2.8.2 Unusual Attitude Recovery Second paragraph, fourth sentence. Crosscheck other sources of attitude information – standby attitude indicator; VVI; altimeter – to identify whether the aircraft is climbing or descending. Consider using commas instead of semi-colons. (Note semi-colons are the Devils' work, and I have never mastered it - or proper use of apostrophes for that matter, so I may be wrong, here.) Formatting Page 33 2.8.4 Instrument Flight Rule Departure Inconsistent highlighted text. Possibly a proofreading mark left in. Formatting Page 33 2.8.7 Point-to-Point Inconsistent highlighted text. Possibly a proofreading mark left in. Formatting Page 96 4.3 Aircraft Handling Characteristics Inconsistent highlighted text. Possibly a proofreading mark left in. This one is most certainly awaiting further edits as the document is refined by the authors. Formatting Entire document When referencing procedures within TO 1A-10C-476CL-1, 476th vFG A-10C Flight Crew Checklist, in the text, some headings/topics within said document are either underlined or not underlined. Not Underlined example paragraph: 6.7.1 Post Air Refueling Checks Underlined example paragraph: 2.9.2 Taxi-in and Shut Down Consider choosing one format or the other. Formatting Entire document Errant space before or after the forward slash There a million forward slashes - ROFL. I gave up after finding 11 extra spaces. Formatting Page 65-66 3.5.1 Transitions Inconsistent highlighted text. The highlight is light blue, and not reflected anywhere else in the document. Spelling Page 68 First paragraph, first sentence after Figure 3-19 you instead of your Sorry, if I come across as pedantic. -
