  1. I have an Ms FFB2 as well and don't have this problem with Black Shark, in fact it's the first simulator in which I have no problems what-so-ever with the force feedback. (In both Lockon and IL2 the force feedback dies whenever I alt+tab, and there are some other issues). To try and be helpful: Try using it without it's software, this works for me (I lost the disc with the software years ago). I just plug it in and set the strength of the force feedback and any other settings in whatever sim I play.. Hope you sort it out! GL!
  2. Sweet!! :) Thx alot for the reply! Off I go to get it!! :D edit: Awesome ZaltysZ!!! Thx alot!! Very much appreciated! :D
  3. That I did, I was reffering to some "Gamelist update" that the (4.1.36) software would want to do after it was installed which would require an internet connection (I made a confusing very post :P).. Thx for your reply anyway!! :) edit: So can I get BS now and use it on an offline PC or do I have to wait for the boxed version?
  4. btw.. Is it possible to buy the download, move it to my offline PC and do a phone activasion there? also: I read somewhere in the "troubleshooting" part of the forums that in order to get the trackIR to work, one needs the latest version - ok fine - AND some "updated games list" or some such for the trackIR software.. The Naturalpoint site seams to suggest that I'll get that after I install their newest software, implying that I need an internet connection to get it. Bottom line: I might not get my trackIR to work just cause I don't have an internet connection!?! Or am I just generally confused as ussual? Any help much appreciated!! Thanks!!
  5. Sounds promising! :) Thank you! btw, it'd be nice if ED had a little more detailed information (on the DCS sites E-shop) about how buying a download works, for people like me who's never bought an app/game like that..
  6. Hi! I'd very much like to buy the english download version, but the computer I intend to play it on currently doesnt have an internet connection... Questions: Can I buy and activate it on one computer and then play it on another? If not; Can I haul my gaming PC to work and buy and activate it there and then play at home without internet? (or does it need to phone home regularly?) Will the boxed DVD version require an internet connection to be played? Thank you (ps. Spent some time searching before posting, promise!!)
  7. Också svenne! :bye_2: Also very tempted at the Russian version, but I think I'll wait..
  8. Really!?! Me too!! :D Clicking around in the editor is the next best thing, and the only thing when you're too tired to hold the stick but still want to fly. Waking the next night with my keyboard imprinted on my forehead :)
  9. I also got the impression (from what I could find online) that the Ka-50 was quite successful in Chechnya. One thing I read that I found interesting was that the coaxial rotor system performed well in mountainous terrain and mischevious winds, up-down drafts. And that it did'nt require more maintenance than the mi-8's and 24's, one of those two Ka-50's were downed for awhile due to damage though IIRC.. That's what I reaad out of it, but then I'm biased since I want the Ka-50 to be awesome now that I'll be flying it soon :P
  10. Definetly looking forward to that!! :) In the meantime - are there any user reviews touching the subject?
  11. Hi all! Have'nt checked back here much since the Russian version was released.. In order to start planning missions and a campaign, I was wondering if there is any new info about the mission and campaign editors and their features and possibilities? Like for instance a list of (and possibly exlanations?) of the triggers and events? :) Sorry if this has been posted and discussed, thx.
  12. I use a trackIR 4 with a mac pro without problems, there should'nt be a problems with the macbook pro either I think. They're almost PC's anyway :D If you run out of usb ports you can get a usb hub I suppose..
  13. AFAIK they hope to release the huge (600 pages(?)) manual printed that we can buy seperate.. :) If they do, I'll definetly buy it!
  14. Hehe, I bought Lockon when it was new, but never got in to it (due to IL-2).. Then I bought it again 8 months ago and was surprised I could'nt max it out with my reasonable resolution habits :P IL-2 - when it was new - was quite playable on almost max settings if one had a high-end system IIRC...
  15. Good advice Highwayman Ed!! I'd very much like to get the powercolor 4870, but it does'nt sell where I have to buy it (due to buying through my work). And I read about issues with the stock fan/cooler(?), so I was thinking I'd get a cooler; even if those issues are solved I might want to overclock it without making the GPU-fan a big part of the Ka-50's sound :P Maybe this one, they say it's compatible to the 4850, I assume it is to the 4870 as well (and they just have'nt updated their site yet).. Any other cooler(s) to recommend?
  16. I'd also like to see better AI behaviour around airfields. It would be very cool with some relevant ground traffic on airfields, like when an AI aircraft parks a service truck drives to it sometimes and such things - just to add some immersion.. Amphibious vehicles that can actually cross rivers etc.. Some way to know (in the ME) which terrain is flat enough for a vehicle to drive on, (like holding down a key that highlights said terrain or something). Placable trains..
  17. A lobby for chatting, joining/launching mp-missions in the DCS might be nice I think, especially if there were some DCS specific functions like having briefings/debriefs, mp-campaigns/online wars or something.. It would also make multiplayer much more accesible for new users/busy users.. But then again, I had very good experiences with HL (flying IL-2)..
  18. Thats the one I'll probably be getting!! :) Thx for the heads up on the article!!
  19. Sweet!! Seems very nice me thinks, might make me drop my micro-ATX ideas.. Thx for the heads up!!! I see! I'll be able to wait until exactly a week before BS release.. At that time I must get it all together so that it's ready to be graced with BS on release day. :D
  20. But it sure looks cool!! ;)
  21. Thanx alot for your insights guys, much appreciated!!! I'm probably leaning towards DDR2 again then, since I want to use a micro-ATX board.. But between now and BS release; everything might change :D
  22. hehe lol.. The thing is though, that I allready have 2gb 800mhz [whichever brand] ddr2.. and well, I suppose I can't sell the old machine without them so, yeah!! :D Allthough it is alittle more expensive still, and I can't find any micro-ATX boards for DDR-3, and I like small cases :) So I must ponder some more..
  23. I used to have a radeon 9800pro, that was a great card!! But that was two cards ago, so lately it's been Nvidia.. I kinda feel it's time for me to go ATI again :P
  24. Hello everyone! I am - as many of you - contemplating the rig on which I'll play Blackshark. I'm seeing DDR3 is quite affordable (both the mobo's and the modules)... To DDR3 or not to DDR3, that's the question. What benefits could one expect using DDR3 with say, an E8600 and 4870 card do you thinks (if one intends to overclock alittle also)? Was quite long since I built my current puter so I've kind of forgotten whats important to think about when matching components etc..
  25. Great suggestions!! Those two things would be very nice!
