  1. This issue seems to be greatly exaggerated in winter textures.
  2. It is not possible to communicate with ground crew or ATC on either the CV 1143.5 Admiral Kuznetsov or FFG 11540 Neustrashimy. Surely on the carrier at least you should be able to talk to ATC and rearm / refuel etc. Its shame to add the capability to take off and land on them but not add the required functionality that should go with this. I was hoping to make a Single Player campaign based off a naval force... :( (You also slide around the rolling deck... some kind of strap down needs to be modelled)
  3. I haven't tried Mavs on them.. I did see your thread on their destroyed model.. i considered adding to that, but thought this could do with it's own thread. Naval bombing and a T72 didn't seem to 'destroy' the buildings.. instead they just glowed pink and produced odd coloured smoke.. like superman from the 80s used his laser heating eyes on them :music_whistling: Shame they could be great additives for missions, especially BlackShark ones.
  4. DCS 1.1.1.1 I was really hoping to use some armed building in missions.. but they are just have horrendous textures & effects. Bright white bloom textures.. Pink glow & brown smoke when damaged... All my setting are on High, MSAA = 8Q, HDR = Cold, TSAA = on ******************** Does anyone know where these textures are located.. maybe a mini texture mod might be the solution?

    Rain

Awesome vid, thanks for the link.
  6. Yeah i've dumped the torrent.. eta measured in weeks or years.. ftp link i should have it an hour.
  7. Need seeds please.. very slow d/l right now. Time remaining.. 1 year 1 week ;)
  8. If you look in ...\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\Bazar\Terrain\A-10C\Maps\TAD_COLLECTION.zip you can find all the maps that are in the TAD. With a bit of photoshop work you can easily map up some maps. (You'll need the dds plugin from Nvidia to open the dds files) There was a web site with the maps.. but i has just closed. (http://poehali.org/maps)

    Rain

Rain & snow affects in DCS are from the 90s. When sat in the cockpit on the tarmac and its snowing.. move your head around and watch the snow follow you.. comical. Getting this fixed / upgraded would be a massive bonus.
  10. Yeah it was very useful. Anyone know why it has been removed?
  11. Glad you got it working... I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Sli setups, someone else will need to help you with that.
  12. Civ Traffic is the setting for random ground vehicles & trains. No random air traffic unfortunately. So yes.. turn this on the have truck, buses etc driving about..
  13. If you confirm you meet these: And do Step One of the guide in the original post and let me know your combined resolution i will make your profile for you.
  14. Give that pilot a medal! :P
  15. yes this info can easily be moved from mission to mission. See here for further info: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1346513#post1346513
  16. Here is the weather section from one of my missions: ["weather"] = { ["atmosphere_type"] = 1, ["wind"] = { ["at8000"] = { ["speed"] = 0, ["dir"] = 0, }, -- end of ["at8000"] ["at2000"] = { ["speed"] = 0, ["dir"] = 0, }, -- end of ["at2000"] ["atGround"] = { ["speed"] = 0, ["dir"] = 0, }, -- end of ["atGround"] }, -- end of ["wind"] ["enable_fog"] = false, ["turbulence"] = { ["at8000"] = 0, ["at2000"] = 0, ["atGround"] = 0, }, -- end of ["turbulence"] ["season"] = { ["temperature"] = 20, ["iseason"] = 3, }, -- end of ["season"] ["qnh"] = 760, ["cyclones"] = { [1] = { ["pressure_spread"] = 861472.1567212, ["centerZ"] = 324271.82867339, ["ellipticity"] = 0.90006357392351, ["rotation"] = -3.1137714375927, ["pressure_excess"] = -1262, ["centerX"] = -114375.16087563, }, -- end of [1] [2] = { ["pressure_spread"] = 859746.14015191, ["centerZ"] = -572321.0056249, ["ellipticity"] = 1.2597444410001, ["rotation"] = -1.4395856824654, ["pressure_excess"] = 1115, ["centerX"] = 540466.04378978, }, -- end of [2] [3] = { ["pressure_spread"] = 904316.24211115, ["centerZ"] = 1352897.456596, ["ellipticity"] = 0.57931640144907, ["rotation"] = -0.54470340773942, ["pressure_excess"] = 1713, ["centerX"] = 305699.97060497, }, -- end of [3] }, -- end of ["cyclones"] ["name"] = "Winter, clean sky", ["fog"] = { ["thickness"] = 0, ["visibility"] = 25, ["density"] = 7, }, -- end of ["fog"] ["visibility"] = { ["distance"] = 80000, }, -- end of ["visibility"] ["clouds"] = { ["thickness"] = 0, ["density"] = 0, ["base"] = 0, ["iprecptns"] = 0, }, -- end of ["clouds"] }, -- end of ["weather"] I assume this can just be transplanted into another mission.
  17. Has anyone figured out or tried to 'extract' weather info from one mission and insert it in another? I assume there is a section in the mission file that can be copied and pasted onto a new mission, but before some trial & error i thought i'd ask if anyone has done this. Thanks for any help.
  18. ^^ as long as your top left most monitor is the primary monitor in windows, you can do as you like. The cockpit (center viewport) does not have to start at x=0 & y=0. It could just as easily start at x=1980 y=0 (or any other value) if you wanted the right monitor to have you cockpit view on it.
  19. A skin awaiting Nevada! With a little post processing..
  20. Peter, i'd be happy to test this stuff out for you, I'm on Win 7 (x64) and running on a single monitor my res is 1680x1050. So that is all good. I'll try and have a look at this today.. I'm out tonight and away for the weekend, so it may be next week before i can have a proper look. Thanks Tommy EDIT: Had a read through the files attached.. all makes sense.. will try it out asap :)
  21. Thanks a lot mate, i must have misread a post, as i got the impression this did not work.
  22. I had a look at this thread last night, and ended up unsure of what worked & what didn't, so i decided to leave it aside. Would you be able to summaries what is working and what is not, maybe link to the correct lua file and procedure. Thanks
  23. Once familiar with it's location on the page 2 of the Stat page it is so simple & quick to do. I do this as part of my start up procedure every time, takes about 5 seconds to perform. I use 1.5 as my slew speed.
  24. Thanks Peter.. working great now. I can understand how difficult this could be, with sooo many different resolutions to work with. Maybe telling people how to modify a base version to their custom resolution might be the way forward. Loving the mod.. serious tunnel vision that will take some getting used to.
  25. Nice one! & pls see edit above.
