Multi-monitor set-up guide & help (unofficial)
MadTommy replied to MadTommy's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
Glad it was helpful! No idea why you can't rep me for the guide, seems odd, but would expalin why no one gives me rep for it :) Noraf... i don't really understand your problem, maybe describe it again with some more details or maybe start another thread as i think your problems is more with helios / Hawg Touch & touch screens. -
rss0900 if i understand you correctly you need to do a couple of things.. Play the game in windowed mode, in the game options. Enter your combined resolution manually, in the game options. Use the 1 Screen option under MONITORS This is all you should have to do. This guide might help you some..http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=60815 But i don't think you need to create a custom lua file as the default 1Camera.lua file should work.

I'd never take on 2 BUKs with any payload.. 1 maybe if i was feeling brave & stupid.. 2 forget it. And i'd only take on 1 with a wingman or two to help. Call me a pussy :D

Nice one Mustang, I'll give it a go! Cheers.

Cheers Kuky, but TSAA, AA, HDR etc are too important for me, i have them all set very high or on. The increased town views is sweet and gives me good fps, but unfortunately this grass mod is a killer. For the time being i've turned grass off entirely. Any more tweaks up your sleeve? :)

QFT!! Please patch this bad boy till it's perfect!.. a tall order no doubt, but there are still many issues in MP that if fixed would make me very happy. Great list of fixes but the shortness on the MP list makes me  (same ol same ol.)

For me a large part of the sim is locating targets...It can be tough but rewarding. I suggest you turn them off. Otherwise its shooting fish in a barrel.

Asked the same question some time ago.. some of the answers may well help you too. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=34713

Cheers Druid i was aware it would only work once with the re-enabling trigger set to once.. i just wanted to make sure it worked. Regarding the issue with the host needing to join within 20 seconds.. not quite sure about that. As presently i have a radio being turned on within 10 seconds of mission start and if the host joins after the Radio item is still there. But i'll double check this. Ideally i don't want the host to have to take off.. but i agree it is a good way to handle it. Thanks

Large MP & SP Mission - "Operation Gander"
MadTommy replied to MadTommy's topic in User Created Missions General
I found a problem, important one. I've removed the files while i fix it. I had two triggers firing at the same time causing unreliable results.. this has been fixed. I'm also tweaking & improving it. Version will be 1.1. Version 1.0 is bugged. -
Thanks lads.. got it working. As it was just a test & wanted to make sure i understood the issue i used slightly different system but following the same logic. Once > Time Less (10) > Add Radio Item (F1) Switched condition > Unit Dead (pilot1) > Flag On (F100) Once > Time Since Flag (F100/20sec) & Flag False (F1) > Add Radio Item (F1) This worked a charm.. Radio Item was added 20 seconds after host died. Thanks for both your help, always much appreciated. So the problem was effectively there needs to be a time gap between the Radio Item disappearing and re-enabling it. I've added the simple test mission for anyone not familiar with this stuff. F10 Radio Test 5.miz

Druid, I have tried various versions of this without success. Here is one example. (Trigger Once) > (Condition) Unit in Zone > Add Radio Item (Call SEAD flight) (Flag 1) (Trigger Once) > (Condition) Flag 1 True > Do blah blah blah (the unused Radio Item) Host Dies... (Trigger Once) > (Condition) Unit Dead (Host) & Flag 1 False > Set Flag 2 ** (I tried Continuous as well without success) (Trigger Once) > (Condition) Flag 2 True > Add Radio item (Call SEAD flight) (Flag 1) (Add unused Radio Item) Let me know if some variation works for you.. but it seems to me if the Host dies Triggers cannot re-enable the Radio Menu.. even by adding New Radio Items.. EDIT: However this was all within a complicated mission.. if i get a change i'll make a test mission solely to test this and see if i can make it work...

Large MP & SP Mission - "Operation Gander"
MadTommy replied to MadTommy's topic in User Created Missions General
Yeah, I did consider what you say about FM & AM, but i only tend to use FM for ground forces JTAC as it has a limited range (apparently) and my understanding is AM is used for air to air comms. Thanks for the feedback, and i'll review the radios usage. Regarding the version problem.. if you are not having an issue with the taskings appearing, which is the issue i encountered then you needed worry about it... I only had problems in MP and might only be affecting MP, thinking about it this is very likley. If i verify this i'll add the other versions back as SP only for the time being. -
Large MP & SP Mission - "Operation Gander"
MadTommy replied to MadTommy's topic in User Created Missions General
NB: There appears to be a problem with the selectable scenario versions.. that is not obvious.. So i have removed them until i figure it out. The one version left has all the same elements, you just not in control of the SEAD & AFAC flight timings. Sorry about this. IT IS STILL GOOD FOR SINGLE PLAYERS. -
Large MP & SP Mission - "Operation Gander"
MadTommy replied to MadTommy's topic in User Created Missions General
Its quite possible to have numerous flights on the same frequency.. Tanker & AWACS are on one radio (VHF) and all SEAD & AFAC (and others) are on another (UHF). When contacting AFAC.. you can speak to several individually on one frequency. This allows you to listen to all AFAC & SEAD comms at the same time so you don't miss any offset target info. (remember if the comms become a little annoying you have a volume button for each radio!! Use it :) ) All zones will be utilised by all scenarios. If you cross the boarder anywhere in the operations area you should have no trouble finding targets :P SEAD & extra AFAC will be available once airborne.. you will receive a message letting you know when this happens. But a AFAC flight will automatically take off before you are airbourne.. -

Operation Gander NB: There appears to be a problem with the selectable scenario versions.. that is not obvious.. So i have removed them until i figure it out. Single Player seems unaffected. UPDATE: Found the problem.. downloads removed while i fix it.. New versions up shortly. Apologies to anyone who has downloaded it & had issues... You should dump 1.0 and use 1.1 when i post it. Consider this a self contained mission pack! In this one mission, of which there are 3 versions, I have tried to provide a great range of tasks, threats & opportunities and complete freedom on how it is flown. It is a CAS mission. Primarily designed as a MP coop but i have also included a SP version, where you get 3 wingmen. Both version are within the same mission. i.e the one file can be used as MP or SP. With its random threat and task environment it is designed to be played numerous times without becoming stale. Explanation different of versions: * Removed *Op_Gander_1.0.miz - Spring, decent weather, MP coop10 & SP * Removed * Op_Gander_1.0_(WinterWeather).miz - Winter, challenging weather, MP coop10 & SP (Normally windy with significant cloud cover, not overcast) Op_Gander_1.0_(absent_host).miz - Spring, decent weather, MP coop10 & SP designed for absent server host (i.e no F10 interaction menu). Use this version if you do not have a flying server host or you want the scenario to be random and hidden from you. MP & SP. (or you are having problems with the F10 radio bug in MP. Difficulty very much depends on how you approach the mission and how many wingmen you have. But generally due to the mountainous terrain its pretty tough. Features: MP & SP MP; 10 player coop. SP; 3 wingmen Dynamic weather Tanker refuelling. (suitable for practise or tactical refuelling) Numerous AFAC flights. (suitable for Bullseye Offset & Jtac practise) Random threat environment. Server host/ SP player can choose 1 of 4 mission scenarios. (via F10 radio menu) - Absent server host version, were scenario is randomly selected & AFAC & SEAD flights happen automatically. On call SEAD & AFAC flights can be called as needed from radio menu. (Server host or SP only) No time constraints, suitable as a Join in Progress mission. Priority tasks will be repeated every 10 minutes until completed. Each scenario has 4 primary tasks. AFAC can provide numerous extra tasks. Mountainous terrain, practise your 'nap of earth' flying. Requirements: Ability to use CDU to make Lat/Long waypoint creation. Ability to use CDU to use Bulls offset target acquisition This was a complicated mission to make, and testing all scenarios is extremely difficult. Many many hours of flying would be needed and I've done my best to error check it. The methods and trigger logic I've used are well tested, so i hope there are no significant issues with the triggers etc. But please post any issues you come across and i'll fix them asap. Feel free to edit the mission, BUT beware there are many interdependent triggers, a small change could easily break the mission. AND please keep the essence of the file name as is but make it clear it is an edited version. The mission has NO locked settings, but 99% of units are hidden. No scripts have been used.

I think this disperse under fire for stationary units is a great addition, especially if they do go hide in a forest! I used to try and force disperse under fire on... now i don't have too. It's just a shame they do not move a little further. But as you said if you need them to stay still the above method works. :) (poor AI!! left to be sitting ducks!)

Hi, As you may or may not be aware, the triggered F10 Radio menu, that is only available to the server host in MP (or single player) disappears if, and in my case, when the server host dies. I thought i could get around this by adding some more triggers that would Add the unused Radio Items again. However i have tried several different methods and logics and none of them will allow the F10 Radio to be used again. Either i am being dumb, quite possible or once in has gone, which is a bug, it is simply impossible for it to be re-enabled via triggers. Has anyone managed to achieve what i am trying to do? :helpsmilie: Thanks.

Yup.. if you look at Ells228's screenshot.. where it say One of One, in the units properties, simply click the right most arrow so you have 1 or 2 or 1 of 5 for example.

Multi-monitor set-up guide & help (unofficial)
MadTommy replied to MadTommy's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
You are correct.. that is why it is a essential requirement in the guide :P maybe it should say: otherwise you will have problems.
