have a look at this thread.. lots of help & similar issues in it. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=67833 There are other ones too covering these problems.
-
Does not sound very feasible or realistic. I could see this making some very 'silly' weather. I prefer the present system, but would like to be able to 'drag' the H or L pressure systems centres to where i want them.. presently i find myself spamming 'generate' trying to locate them where i want them.
-
Except the overcast is not actually overcast? Enlightened and confused at the same time..slightly reminds me on the hypnotist from Little Britain..:P Either way.. its a great additive.. if a little hard to get the required results.
-
I have 4 custom 'modifiers' added, all working fine. They are all on my HOTAS not keyboard though.
-
I'm sure you can make rain with it, unless i'm going mad. During the Batas i made a mission where there was light rain in one area and sunshine in another. The cloud cover varied a lot.. but i have not been able to recreate this since.
-
Firstly... love the idea & concept, seems to be working well. Love the way if varies across the map, and across terrain. I'm presently testing a mission where you have to cross the mountains and I'm really noticing the varying weather, wind direction & strength and cloud cover. Great improvement over the static weather we have hard previously. I am having a few problems getting the weather conditions i want at times. Is it possible to get some guidance, tip & tricks to controlling the weather. For example I'm finding it very difficult to make overcast skies, rain and such like. Normally the skies are either clear or with light cloud cover. The wind is easier to work out.. but controlling cloud cover & precipitation has me foxed.

^^ hmmm ok thanks.. i only tested this by contacting the ground crew and verifying they had reloaded me correctly. I've not used it in anger yet... I'll do some testing asap. (this evening) So you could use the Mavs but not the 105s? EDIT: Did you get some kind of error? Your problem has me scratching my head, I might be able to overcome this issue but inserting custom payloads manually into the original lua file, but then it would be not so simple.. :(
-
Ok.. I've read through this thread, and now my head hurts a bit. I understand the basic principles of CCIP trying to compute a 'uphill' drop, and the SPI should be on the target not the steerpoint (if it is at 10,000"). I have used the DTC workaround...but am unsure if this is good practice. I'm presently testing a mission in a mountainous region.. and having a few problems. I have a couple of questions: Is there a bug present? If so what is the best work around. if not can someone summaries 'best practice' procedures. :music_whistling: Thanks, and sorry if i should have understood this already..

Setting a waypoint on TADS after recieving Co-Ords?
MadTommy replied to CarneyUK's topic in Multiplayer
Here is a simple explanation of the method i use...adding coordinates and converting them into a waypoint. There are also other in depth ways in the same thread... http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1123346&postcount=2 -
One thing to note.. FM has a shorter range than AM. So i use VHF-FM for contact to ground JTAC, UHF-AM for AFAC & SEAD flight communication and VHF-AM for ATC, Tankers & AWACS etc.
-
+1 to comms to ground crew asking for chocks to be removed.. great idea. (i do have a toggle on my HOTAS as a parking break.. so i have my own chocks!)
-
Can't anser about 'real' A-10, but here is the pertinent info from the manual.. I use the FM Radio for ground JTACs in my missions...

Do you want your custom payloads back? Here is a really simple way. The ingame default payloads that you can select in multiplayer are contained in a file called; unitPayloads.lua located here : <installed folder>\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\MissionEditor\data\scripts When you make custom payloads via the mission editor they are saved to a file with the same name here: C:\Users\<your name>\Saved Games\DCS Warthog\MissionEditor If you name your custom payloads with the correct prefix; i.e Anti-Armor - <custom name> or Mix - <custom name> and copy the unitPayloads.lua from C:\Users\<your name>\Saved Games\DCS Warthog\MissionEditor to \Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\MissionEditor\data\scripts you will have your custom payloads to select in multiplayer. Simples...Enjoy. ** EDIT: Oh yeah.. stock advice ...backup your original file before you overwrite it... **

Looking for SAM engagement envelopes, SAM data
MadTommy replied to epokha's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Knock yourself out, use it as you want... all the info is from the games files as stated. -
^^ Thanks for the insight. In the Betas flying high was the safest approach for me, only the SA10 & Tor where threats... I'm thinking flying low might now be safer now.. harder to acquire targets, but a lot safer.

My initial concerns/problems with DCS a-10
MadTommy replied to tyrspawn's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
My present random mission template has over a 100 triggers, and that is just the template.. so i know how to do it.. calling it simple is stretching the truth. Grimes's example is easy.. but also useless for a mission of any depth or breadth. Everything can spawn or nothing can spawn, flip your coin, take your chances. I use Weta43's version.. but it very quickly becomes very complicated. oh yeah.. its not random :P -

:megalol: You must have a different definition of 'fairly straight forward'; most certainly possible, calling it fairly straight forward is err well stretching it a little too far. -
Multi-monitor set-up guide & help (unofficial)

Try a Instant Action Mission.. I've never seen a APPCRASH caused by a multimonitor setup, no matter how wrong it is. -
Multi-monitor set-up guide & help (unofficial)

^^ i'm not referring to how they are physically aligned.. i'm referring to their virtually alignment in windows if you get me. Your 19" could either be aligned to the bottom or top of your 24" monitors. (or even the middle, that that would be nuts :)) I've not used a TH2G system, but i believe what i done for you should work. My understanding is windows will treat you two 24" monitors as one big ass one and the 19" as a 2nd monitor. But that should be neither here nor there anyway. -

Unfortunately, in my humble opinion, ED has historically not been focused on Mulitplayer. There have been many discussions on this subject, but apparently multiplyer pilots are only a small proportion of the community of flight simmers. I think this view is slowly changing, as i believe this is really the future of gaming & sims. Tech & internet speeds allow this now for the vast majority of us. This has meant a far greater focus has seemingly been on single player content, (yawn), and i assume SP is easier to code and produce. Hopefully this will change soon, as it is the one thing that really frustrates me with sim and lets it down some. Great sim lacking some MP support & content. -
Multi-monitor set-up guide & help (unofficial)

darrenkarp below is the lua file contents, i have attached it as a zip. Unzip it and extract it to you \Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\Config\MonitorSetup folder. In Options choose this custom setup under monitors and type in your resolution as 4864x1200 _ = function(p) return p; end; name = _('custom setup'); Description = 'Three custom monitor configuration'; Viewports = { Center = { x = 1024; y = 0; width = 3840; height = 1200; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 0; aspect = 3.2; } } LEFT_MFCD = { x = 254; y = 0; width = 768; height = 768; } UIMainView = Viewports.Center I have assumed that your monitors are aligned along their top edge and that you want to display the left MFCD..and display it in proportion, i,e square. There will be a panel of 254x768 dead space on the left side of you 19" monitor. Let me know if this does not work Custom3Monitor.zip -
Ok thanks Nate, that would explain a lot. Note to self... remove some of those Tunguskas.... my mission designed in beta 4 to be tough is now near impossible. The Osa & Tor have always been nasty.. i can add the Tunguska to the list of .. oh **** run way systems. ;)

^^ Thanks, ... any details available about what has been tweaked / changed? Skill level, when they engage, missile physics or something else.... I'm seeing it more from a mission design view point.
