(the fact that you called ED lazy and referenced youtube.. I hope you are warning flame proof clothing, two things that always go down badly here. ;))

ClearDark.. I'm not sure if I've found a bug or not...i get this crash when i use a certain frame size. Problem signature: Problem Event Name: CLR20r3 Problem Signature 01: hawgtouch.exe Problem Signature 02: 1.0.0.0 Problem Signature 03: 4d78bb51 Problem Signature 04: System.Windows.Forms Problem Signature 05: 4.0.0.0 Problem Signature 06: 4ba1e14e Problem Signature 07: 676 Problem Signature 08: 43 Problem Signature 09: System.ArgumentException OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1 Locale ID: 2057 Additional Information 1: 0a9e Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additional Information 3: 0a9e Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 I've attached 2 png files created from the same photoshop file, one is 1050x1045px the other is 630x627px. The smaller one causes the app to crash, the larger one does not. To reiterate, they were from the exact same source file. Really weird. I have tried this numerous times, remaking the png, using different configs etc etc. Seems to be a bug. Just trying to help.

I know it's somewhere: getting rid of MFCD warning messages
MadTommy replied to apoll's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
This acknowledges (gets ride of them) Notes/Messages not failure warning afaik -
New MFCD frames I wanted a frame that took up less space, so i made one. All new frame + buttons Right click on images and 'save as'. They are PNG. Resize as you want them. This frame is 1050x1045px. Internal area designed to fit a MFCD display of 820x820px. I made it big, as its better to reduce rather than enlarge. To help you work out your config: Left, right & bottom frame are 115px and the top is 100px (not quite sure why it has end up non symmetrical, but it does not really matter. These are not worn and only slightly weathered, it was not worth the effort to do this in my opinion, nor do i want a tatty old MFCD :P EDIT: i have attached the button alignment file in the zip. (only LMFCD, you can copy the setting to the right if you are gonna have them both this size.) MFCDLeft.zip

3 CACD failures in one 1:30 session, 2 in 5 minutes... whether it is accurate or not, its bloody annoying, happened twice while taxiing. I fly for fun, these failures don't fall into that category... it would be nice if this could be reduced please. I don't mind random failures.. but at this frequency its tedious.

Ok cool i understand.. thanks ClearDark  And yes i'll share anything i do on this, including my configs etc. EDIT: i made pixel 10x162, Fuschia (255,0,255) but no joy. :( Happy to wait for the next release unless you think it might be something else? I can still use my frame as the background will be black anyway. :)

There is an entire sub forum dedicated to multi monitor setup and issues. That would be a better place to discuss your issues with multimonitor displays, they have nothing to do with this addon. anyway.. I'm having an issue making a new frame, i wanted one that took up less space but i am confused by a transparency issue? It looks like this previewed, the white is transparent, png. But when i use it in Hawg Touch 70% of the frame is transparent. I quite used to photoshop and working with transparency.. but this has me baffled. (i haven't aligned the buttons yet..ignore that) What is going on?? What am i doing wrong?

Ok cool.. i'm looking through them now.. i've made the edits to the images.. just need to figure out the button placement.. I'm sure i can work it out.. Edit: figured it out.. now i just need to do the grunt work.. the little app i have that can measure screen pixel distances is bloody useful right now! Regarding different sizes for left & right MFCD.. this does not seem possible at this stage. EDIT2: Actually regarding the different sizes.. i could run two instances of this...with different setups.. :) Lovely jubberly! Across my 22" screen at 1680x1050 I'll post up my files when i have it polished.

Looking very cool. But how can i alter the size of these? I can alter the image sizes myself no problem.. but what else do i need to do? I love this BUT if I can't alter the sizes it is no good for me. Thanks for any help. EDIT: also is it possible to have MFCDs of different sizes... as that is how i use them presently.

No that is not cool. But this is cool :P or

^^ that is fair enough and makes sense. What about rockets? They seem to be totally hopeless in wind. Even a relativity mild one.
-
I was actually referring to rocket runs when i quoted that. (even if i did not say so) TBH I think i'm flying in far too extreme conditions... even keeping the piper and fall line on the hud has been near impossible. Thanks, that would explain some of the difficulties, I've been testing in 45-50kts. Storm force!

Thanks for the link... from reading through it there seems to be some confusion over its purpose and use. I'm also questioning it from a practical point of view. The present mission i'm working with is in a mountainous region, with dynamic weather where the wind speeds & direction vary a lot. The area of your attack is not an area you want to be messing about in taking meteorological samples. Don't get me wrong, the link is helpful, but t is not the answer to all issues relating to getting munitions on target with strong winds. Also does this work for rockets too? * goes back to the manual *

Right, so if i correct my cold start up procedure i won't have to switch to DTS as it will be using it by default? My start up procedure is definitely 'condensed', and i'm sure missing a step or three :P .. i'll do some testing. Thanks a lot.
-
Thank you very much... so.. as part of the 'start up procedure' I should be switching my HUD to DTS no matter what the terrain is.... and life is good as long as I have fully aligned and my data is stored correctly. EDIT: Thanks eddie, you answered me as i typed & pondered.

I wanted to fly a mission in tough weather...but i did not really appreciate the difficulty a strong wind would produce. 40 -50 kts winds makes getting munitions on target extremely difficult. I'm looking for some insight in wind correction techniques. (I know some bombs such as the CBU 105 / GBU 38 have wind correction built in) I talking about rockets & dumb bombs and the like. Are there wind limits in real life where a mission simply would not be run due to the difficulties posed or such munitions would not be used? Apart from flying into or with the wind it seemed pure guess work getting munitions on target.. the piper was miles off the impact point. And flying like this would still mean munitions would fall short or go long. Are there any system the A10c has that can help?.. Rules of thumb one can use?

Thanks, I'll try again. in my current mission i am getting Ivalid CCIP constantly unless i do one of two things.. create a mark point near my target or change my HUD setting to DTS. (What this does i do not fully understand) In this mission the waypoints are high in the mountains. I thought that if i use my target pod, mav seeker or hud square to set a point, ideally my target, as the SPI the CCIP computer would use that to calculate the impact point, not my bloody steerpont 5,000 feet above me. As i said, to stop this i seem to have two options, set a markpoint or change my HUD to read DTS. I have checked stat page on L MFD. On page 2 and my EGI is green and working correctly. So what the hell is going on.. i'm just a bit confused Is there a bug present? If so what is the best work around. if not can someone summaries 'best practice' procedures, or is what i'd doing correct?
