Now I'm really worried: will they make a version 2 for all the other modules too?
-
Adjusting curves or saturation does not change that as soon as you get on board you notice a difference from other helicopters. The commands respond unreally as if the physics, weight, inertia have been set aside for this module. at the controls as if it had no weight and no center of gravity to influence the movement.I stop here, I would already be happy if these aspects were repaired to this magnificent module because even if it is a light, agile and maneuverable helicopter they do not appear as realistic anyway I hope you will soon find the energy you need to continue working, many of us would be happy.

We are talking about bombs but I still don't understand one thing: will there be an optical aiming system? In the Mi 8 they have not simulated it and I wonder if we will finally have a device to aim the bombs and I hope so much it will also be placed on the MI 8. Of course, we can release the bombs in the same way that we release the "drop tanks" but it is not funny.

Impeller (supercharger) and turbocharger interaction?
oreste replied to SmirkingGerbil's topic in DCS: P-47 Thunderbolt
when the plane reaches a certain altitude the turbo starts to work, you can see it from the turbo revs indicator. Even if you keep the turbo lever fully pulled back reaching 15/16 000 ft it will start working automatically. in the P 51 where we can see a sudden increase in pressure which forces us to make an adjustment of the throttle knob.In the P 47 instead the pressure will rise gradually in fact you can only notice it by looking at the turbine rpm indicator. we can still manually add pressure by acting on the turbo lever but we must always keep an eye on the rpm / turbine indicator so that we do not go to exceed the maximum safety speed. In addition, the temperature of the air arriving in the carburetors, as the turbine revs and as the altitude rises, this temperature varies at times unexpectedly and it is very important that it remains within the safety margins. I return the intercooler or heat it by closing it, I do not know if the ice formation is simulated .. that would be another problem again :) -
I thank you for your reply and for giving me a clarification also from a technical point of view that I honestly am very passionate about. At this point I think that they waited a while before installing everything, although it was required and useful it probably required some expense and / or subject all vehicles to changes even in the weather. I believe that the subject made the pilots of those years talk at least as much as it did us. Greetings and good continuation.

In Afghanistan they had to somehow protect themselves from heat-seeking shoulder missiles. Stinger missiles gave the guerrillas a decent advantage in the battle against Russian helicopters, they didn't have any other types of missiles besides those. I don't think it's a big expense to add an extra. detector even for the less modern so I guess the pilots will have asked the technicians to put one on.

I am glad that other people have also noticed these sudden changes in the oil indicator.I noticed that the indicator remained very high and then suddenly went into place in the area considered normal.Afterwards after about half an hour of flight but also more 'the pressure value went up a lot, I thought it was connected to the fact that I was going down very quickly and the engine had dropped sharply abruptly. Suddenly the value went back to normal but I can't understand why.

I wanted to say that I noticed a lot of noise when I landed, I thought I was crawling on the nacelle and that maybe the wheels of the trolley had not descended correctly but no, the noise of the tires on the asphalt is only very high and it's not really what one expects to hear. I recommend listening to the noise again and if it doesn't seem right to try to change it. It seems the sound of a landing with punctured wheels or even without tires. Anyway I try again, these have been my impressions of the first landing and I intend to try again.

The aspect of the temperature has already been discussed extensively in other posts as well, I also wondered if it was normal but it seems that it is faithfully reproduced taking into account the original heating times of the plane. It must be considered that it is equipped with a particular cooling system, an additional fan that cools the oil cooler. There is ample documentation about it but do not ask me for the links, I no longer log in which post or where I read them. In any case you can feel comfortable with the temperatures, from what I have read are correct, if many do not answer you, it is for this reason and because we have already talked about this. Greetings and good flight with Anton

The correct altitude must be measured with on-board instruments such as the altimeter or the radar. In some cases you will have to adjust the altimeter according to the atmospheric pressure of the airport, only then will you have the correct altitude. Or use a radar system that detects the distance from the ground is convenient for low-altitude flights. If you are flying for example on the F 16 you can change between altitude measurement with radar system or pneumatic system by clicking a button.Using a helicopter you must always have a good feeling of both the distance from the ground and the speed of both the air and the ground. In certain mountains at low temperatures you will also have to deal with the cold, if you do not fly low you will have ice problems in engines like flying with the MI 8. Some planes have less accurate instrumentation maybe and you can't click to make too many changes or adjustments but if you take those that have been reproduced in great depth you will have all the correct measurements of both the speed , gps position, altitude etc.

I was thinking that there was talk of F8 Crusader but then I said to myself: which aircraft carrier do we take it off from? It would take one of the 50/60 years and so also talking about F 4 Phantom, they should also make dated aircraft carriers like the USS Essex ( CV-9) and USS Saratoga (CV-60) .. uff, a lot of work but the furrow has been traced and you never know. Dream aircraft like the most modern Rafale are too expensive as resources, let's not forget that they have to work on many things and I don't think they can afford to put everyone on a new plane. For me, a project could be Mi 24, who has updated the Ka 50 may have thought of continuing the good work on the Hind model which is also well done as a graphic designer.

Hello everyone, I don't know if it has already been said, there are really many requests and I have not seen a command like mine.I am n passionate about flight simulation and I really liked seeing for example in Mi 8 the effect of the cold that requires you to go down in altitude or turn on the heaters to eliminate the ice. Also in another module you notice the type effects in the L 39 Albatros the light turns on and you have to turn on the heating. effects, tools that stop working due to ice or changes in the glass of the passenger compartment such as fogging or loss of engine performance (ice in the carburetor) Sometimes even a little snow or ice on the runway would be nice, it would require a landing / take-off very accurate. The rain on the glass is beautiful and it is very impressive. In short, the atmospheric effects are all welcome and I noticed that the atmospheric pressure has a great influence on the performance of the planes. We have many heating devices in the passenger compartment but they are not used, at a certain altitude I think that the pilot should start to accuse serious problems for the cold as for the lack of oxygen he should go to operate the appropriate instrument, it would be fantastic. both in your projects add these effects, greetings and good continuation.

First of all I would like to congratulate and thank for the P47 module that you have prepared for us, it is even more beautiful than what I expected.I have already purchased it and I expect to be able to use it on the standard version of the game because I have no space for the open beta , no problem, I did 30 and I will do 31. ^^ (an Italian saying) I saw this space for proposals, what we would like to be added to the form, well I would have one if it were possible. In the aircraft of the time the propeller was sometimes changed, to have a better performance at different altitudes or other reasons. In the P 51 war module we have two versions that mount two different propellers. Could we have the same possibility in the P 47? Or even being able to change propellers for example on the ground when refueling is required. A type of propeller for example also improved the performance of the cooling system because it forced more air into the engine and it would be nice to be able to notice these changes in performance or others. of some propeller models for the P 47. Thanks for your attention and good continuation. List_of_Propellers_and_Governors_for_Service_Aircraft_1945_wwii.pdf

I think that putting the modules up for sale in the last phase of development is useful because so many people test the module and speed up the hunt for bugs. Otherwise you should take people away from other tasks, put them to test the module but they would never be as fast. The players are not technicians but they have the time and desire to experiment with their module in every way, if there is something found. If the company were to hire other technicians to test the games, it would be forced to sell the modules at higher costs.I would say that's okay, let's do their job in peace.

I am of the opinion that a country that is not at war may not want to spend too many resources on armaments and perhaps does not even want to alarm neighboring countries by arming itself too much, but I also think that their activities are mainly those of training and surveillance for which the data sharing system is especially useful to cover large areas such as those of China. They certainly have a Russian or home-made system, I can't think otherwise.

DCS Mi-8 is 7 years now, time for an update ?
oreste replied to Hueyman's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
I have a high estimate of the work done so far, I don't want to be misunderstood but updating the modules has a return on sales already. I don't understand the answer like: "updating is expensive, we will do it only if you are willing to pay". When the older modules are no longer purchased or have a low sale then you will realize that it was better to update them. Take your time, do the things that are most urgent but when you find a moment of peace do some updates. -
If you look closely there is also a button to activate the military power, it would be a more powerful engine operating regime without having to activate the afterburners. When it is activated you will see the two green lights just above the tachometer light up, to deactivate the military regime just pull back the throttle lever. I have set both keys because they are very useful in flight so that of the afterburners and that of military power. They cannot be used together, only one at a time, I often use the regime military to reduce consumption but to have more power.

I am happy to know that the latest versions had solved the problem, probably afflicted the planes of the first version, I quote the text that I had read on wikipedia to make it clear why they seemed strange. In any case I am happy to know that who can fly on the historical reconstructions of the aircraft confirm that the temperatures are always very good. wiki "BMW 801 The planes equipped with this engine continued to fly for a long time with operational and reliability limitations, given the overheating caused by the problems due to the great power contained in a very "tight" cowling. Forced ventilation helped this configuration by virtue of the presence of a fan rotating at 3.3 times the propeller speed. Obviously this also involved a "waste" of part of the power supplied, but the solution was considered satisfactory. "

Thanks for the quick answers, I immediately go to read those discussions, forgive me but I tried to find if there were other discussions on the subject but I had not found them.

I thought to discuss this because I read that the plane was born with serious overheating problems of the powerful radial engine, they had to build a special system with ring radiator and an additional fan. In the end they managed to get a fairly narrow and aerodynamic nose but they have had to struggle to have the same cooling power and I don't think it was as efficient as in the game, probably it had to be at least adjusted according to the revolutions or the speed of the vehicle as is also done in the FW 190 Dora.I noticed that in Anton it is never necessary and I have never exceeded even half of the dial as heating the engine even at very high engine speeds, on the contrary the first times I played the F 8, several months ago this still happened, care had to be taken to maintain the engine at an optimal temperature. I hope I have been of help, mine is not a criticism and I admire your work. Respectful regards

[REPORTED]Engine still runs with throttle in the stop position
oreste replied to hazzer's topic in Bugs and Problems
I encounter the same problem when I fly in an aerobatic server, it may be that they have not yet put the last update, I should check but what happens is: the engine continues to turn very slowly at idle after putting the throttle all back (Aus not idle) and even after closing the fuel lever under the dashboard (fuel tank selector lever in Zu position). At this point the fuel pressure drops drastically but the engine continues to run, at idle and with difficulty but if it were in reality it would be enough to kill a mechanic who was near the propeller. To stop the engine at this point click on the Magneto lever and I get the engine off. -
I thought someone would have liked to read something, here is some data, it certainly does not help us in the game but it is interesting. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorenzbake

Anton is a fun plane, I prefer it to the Dora which makes it better at high altitudes but it is not as reactive and agile as the F8. With Anton it goes up to 500 km / h in a flash because it has a really strong engine, for me it was the best with radial engine.Good weapons for machine-gunning on the ground and bombers, also for now in the game it almost never overheats.

When we say Tornado everyone thinks of a bomber that darting at low altitude and releasing bombs, the only real Tornado is that, all the other versions are to be excluded from the calculation. A system for automatic low-altitude flight and a lot of fuel ha ha ha.
