Clarification on A-10 Use at Spangdahlem
trippylummox replied to Snoopy's topic in Bugs and Problems
I just wanted to throw my hat in on this one. I was stationed at Spangdahlem from 2006-2014, and a member of the 81st. The A-10's should fit snugly into the HAS's there(a few feet of clearance from either wingtip). We did not modify them at all(they were the larger gen III's). We used the shelters on the western portion of the airfield. Also, I'm curious about the elevation data for Spang. It was an airfield that was not flat at all, lol, we had to climb uphill from our parking spots on the way to the 23 EOR. I figure there will be adjustments as the map progress develops. So far, I am really digging it though! -

Can confirm, MLRS rockets do fire when triggered for me, but F6 view reveals the map they are flying over and where they impact seems to be a generic all-land-and-flat map. Also, when firing, the animation seems bugged and no smoke trails are visible, just dust kicking up around the MLRS.

use in mission payload and fuel editor In Mission Laser Codes Edit
trippylummox replied to bonesvf103's topic in Wish List
Here's my .02 cents... Let the code remain 1688 by default for LGB's loaded. + Add an option on the Rearm/Refuel menu to change the code on any laser guided bombs loaded. IRL when the pilot pre-flights his aircraft, he confirms the codes are set to specific mission requirements with the ground crew. Heck, when deployed, we usually met the pilot at the jet specifically to set the codes, which they just received in a briefing. It was a few quick twists with a screwdriver, and on to the next. -
[NO BUG] Hydraulic Switches under cover not clickable
trippylummox replied to MarkP's topic in Bugs and Problems
+1 to this PITA issue Just make it like a standard guarded switch where when you flip the cover back down and it snaps the switch back to the norm position, as mentioned by others. -
Excellent! Thanks Wags!

Thanks for sharing that doc! I've been having some incredible successes now using the HD's.

Yeah, I've had this happen on occasion. Usually only in the cold, but not always. Rare for me.

F-5E not working anymore after today's 2.0.5 update
trippylummox replied to strikers_blade's topic in DCS: F-5E
At first I thought this was happening to me as well, but the aircraft loaded eventually and I was able to operate it without any issues. Initially, it was a very long wait however. After that first time though, the module loaded normally. -
I pulled five 14G turns consecutively, then snapped my left wing off pulling a 16G after. Pushed the envelope just a little too far on that last one. In any case, if it was real life, returning to base with that level of over-g on the air frame would have equated to some very angry maintainers and me flying a desk for a bit from my Commander. :P

Same here! Absolutely my favorite jet to fly, no doubt. I highly recommend this module to anyone who's looking for a fun aircraft to fly and fight with.

Thanks so much! Wonderful guide Charly!

In real life, you can have different types of fusing on the same bomb. Being able to choose nose/nose tail/tail affords the pilot a choice as to how the weapon will be employed. Does he need an air burst or penetration detonation. In the case of the same type of fuse used in both nose and tail it's more of a reliability decision. We wouldn't want insurgents to dig up a 500 to 2000 pound IED...

FZG Immel said it all. No need for a dual throttle joystick.

Thanks Big, I know. My problem now is that I can't get 1.5 to start. So I'm running a repair as I type this. Might not get it fixed before I have to go to work, time will tell. Thanks again though!
