As mentioned in my topic. It would be nice to have a .MOBI format file for those that have a Kindle reader app on their smart devices. I actually don't own a kindle reader but rather the IOS app on my Iphone. I'll keep messing with conversion software in the meantime. Or maybe I'll try to re-do the manual in the .MOBI format from scratch assuming its possible.

Warthog Manuals In Kindle Format? (MOBI)
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to HitchHikingFlatlander's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
To a kindle reader (actual device) yes but you must not have read the post you quoted. I'm using the IOS Kindle app for iPhone and the PDFs don't work, actually they don't even show up in the document list. That's why I'm trying to convert the PDF into .MOBI format (that native Kindle format). I could always boot up my laptop and set it next to the pit but having the manual on my phone is much more manageable and energy efficient. -

Thank you for all the suggestions, I really appreciate them. -
Well as for the both of your guys points, we already have the PDF format and the choice to view it in any PDF reader anyways. Or print it out as well so non issue.

Warthog Manuals In Kindle Format? (MOBI)
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to HitchHikingFlatlander's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I have a 3GS and the screen is fine for reading that's not the issue. Its more presentation that is leading me to seek out a Kindle formatted copy. On iPhone the kindle resizes the file according to screen size while maintaining a legible format with NO side scrolling required. I just tried the Dropbox solution you suggested but its no different than any other PDF viewer I've used which requires you to side scroll the document left to right to read text at a readable size. I really appreciate the help though Wichid That said I'm back to figuring out a kindle solution. I need to find a decent converter online to change the PDF format into a .MOBI file. -
Warthog Manuals In Kindle Format? (MOBI)

Actually thats not bad I'll give it a try, thanks Wichid. In the meantime if anyone was able to convert it to the Kindles native .MOBI format let me know how it worked out for you. -
Another thought to add, I believe kindle has a free app for most devices nowadays so that might make for a good candidate.

Warthog Manuals In Kindle Format? (MOBI)
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to HitchHikingFlatlander's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
How well does it work in re-sizing documents for iPhone viewing though? A great deal of PDF readers I've tried only allow for zooming in or out and/or require a lot of side scrolling. The thing I like about the Kindle app is that everything fits on the screen with no side scrolling. And to add its still legible, I'd rather flip the page every two seconds than get lost scrolling side to side and back. Lastly space on the iPhone is precious so if I can avoid adding another app (regardless of size) all the better. Thanks for the advice Wichid. -
A-10C Panel Structure Construction
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to Mike Powell's topic in Home Cockpits
Wow that's an extremely helpful drawing/render Mike, even if nothing more than for reference. If I end re-making my front console/panel I'll definitely being using this as a guide! Never ceases to amaze me how awesome the pit building community is. -
I vote for a kindle version as well as other options! See my recent thread!

Is it possible to convert the warthog manuals into the MOBI format. Or better yet has anyone successfully converted them into that and would like to share? I have the Kindle app on my iPhone and thought it would be useful to have the manual close at hand. Apparently the kindle is supposed to support PDFs but the iphone app DOES NOT let you. I've loaded the files into it but they don't show up. I then tried a converter called "Calibre" and while it has worked before the output of this conversion was pretty horrible. No chapter links and some of the conversion left a lot to be desired. So has anyone converted these files over and if so would you be willing to share them? Thanks HHF

That's great work Y2kiah!

They don't necessarily need a website, I think these suppliers do most their business offline.

Can you fly it Def Leppard style with one arm? Too soon? Thats a great idea there! I love seeing what everyone else does, so many great ideas that never cease to amaze!

Looks good!

Well if the military isn't paying too much they'd rather not pay at all lol. My old man served in the Coast Guard and HE knows a thing or two about cutting costs! Dime well I live in Northern California so if you're planning a Yosemite National Park trip I'm on the way there!

Dimebug I'll send you a PM, I agree that it would be cool to meet up with someone building this project. I'd come over to your place but that's quite an endurance swim!
-
I love the ingenuity of this design and construction. I'll enjoy watching your progress.

For being worried about cutting yourself it looks great! Keep it up and keep documenting it as you go! Dimebug is awesome for coming up with his design and also sharing it with everyone. I wouldn't have built anything without his and Y2kiahs plans.

LOL most of my buddies don't have anything to do with my pit either. Getting my monitor set up last weekend with HELIOS and exporting MFCD's was the best thing I've ever done with my pit. In picture 4 there is what appears to be a amp or cable box with a sticker on it, what is that for? Just curious, looked too big to be a Butt Kicker amp.

The F-16 design has a better seat angle IMO kinda like the "gangster lean" in a car lol!

You have one of the coolest pits around BADCRC! Outstanding attention to detail.

Sounds like great fun!
