  1. yeah, was done already. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3306822/ https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3306720/
  2. A good chunk of vCVW-11's members are veterans, have served in the squadrons we represent, or are currently underway with them. We have a few real world Aviators, even some within CVW-11, that roam our group when they have some free time. As a veteran, I (as well as the rest of us) see zero issue with how vCVW-11 represents itself within the community. Nor do any of the other vCarrier Air Wings.
  3. Yeah, the online PvP is not realistic. It's basically the Call of Duty of DCS. Tactics are out the window as there is not penalty for poor choices. You can still use intercept geometry against a live player, but will require a lot more work from you as the interceptor, but it does work when you do it correctly. Especially when employed as a section.
  4. Luck isn't needed. This basic intercept geometry presentation is a great intro and works very well at teaching the basics.
  5. We use it quite often and works just fine.
  6. um what? Avionics have nothing to do with the fact that it requires too much power to hit X air speed and sustain X G / Airspeed in a turn. From real world data..... did you even read his posts?
  7. Saved Games> DCS.openbeta> Liveries> F-14B that will work. Makes sure its capitalized.
  8. yeah, she bleeds too much energy and requires too much power to hold certain speeds. REally hoping this is fixed soon.
  9. ah, so use that .miz and it works. Thanks man!
  10. How are you getting the LEXR vapor to show up when starting on the ground? Cold start / Hot start, this Vapor effect is broken. It only works in Air starts.
  11. I don't know, but this isn't promising.
  12. if it were me, i would have just recorded it twice, one from the external and one from the HUD cam and used my video editing software to put it in the corner. That is likely how he did it as exporting would make that a pain in the ass.
  13. Tomcat pilots did this, due to the HUD being pretty much useless. The upgraded Tomcats with the Sparrowhawk HUDs and the Hornets could use theirs as it was considered a primary flight instrument. The Tomcat we have, does not have the upgraded HUD.
  14. Download and install a camera shake mod. Then when in free cam ctrl+F11 press LSHIFT+J until it starts the shake. You have to have flown the performance with the mod installed, otherwise the camera will move all over the place.
  15. Recreated the Viper Demo for USLANTCOM's YouTube Channel:
  16. you need to increase the core clock. Overclocking will allowed your CPU to decrease the frame times and feed your GPU quicker.
  17. well considering the Viper is using the F/A-18C's afterburner effect, that makes sense. They have also noted they are still working on the Vipers afterburner effects as they are not done yet. I'm sure we will get it. The thing that bothers me is how long it take to light the AB once the throttle passes the detent. Then how long it takes the AB effect to go away long after the engine has spooled down to idle.
  18. no. When you go to idle, you will hear the engine spool down, but the AB effect will still be going... needs to be fixed.
  19. hopefully like the 14... the 18's is pink and tiny.
  20. Lightened up the image, last one is a GE too.
  21. I was discussing this with BIGNEWY on the ED Discord, and he suggested I make a thread on this. I have noticed an "over trim" or "over sensitive" Roll Trim when trimming out asymmetric loads. What I mean by this is, it is next to impossible to trim out the unwanted roll due to how much roll trim is applied by just tapping the trim hat left and right. I find my self tapping left and right over and over in hope to counter the unwanted roll. Heatblur did something to combat this early on in the EA release. They reduced how much roll and pitch was entered for every tap of the trim hat. They also enabled an accelerated trim function, ie. holding down the trim hat in any direction will increase how quick the trim hat trims the jet. Hopefully this is something ED can incorporate, at least on the roll trim as pitch trim is hardly needed thanks to the FLCS.
  22. First off, the HUD is not a primary flight instrument. Second, dont adjust the hud pitch ladder based off of the VV, it is slaved the the aircraft symbol. Also, it will change with altitude since it is not slaved to the VV. Use your instruments and VDI.
