  2. And it has in DCS. Its just harder to discriminate that in the game than in reality. Yes, the bot is flying in ideal conditions, and is ideal itself. But very unimaginative in terms of tactics.
  3. DCS damage model is oriented towards missles. We have to wait for a new "warbird" one which is in the works. :beer: The sight representation in the sim is better than migs sight in the sim, auto ranging works. Of course it has limitations, its a very early technology! And all this educates us, the simmers, about how much skill the aviators of that time had to have. Life support towards G tolerance in Sabre and say F-16C is hard to compare. Its was one of the first ones operational. And ED/BST had posts about actually researching that(and implementing tuneable G-tolerance mechanic in the first place).

  5. Balance is in another room. There was never any balance in reality, nor in DCS. As for G suit - civilians often read and take into account only tactical numbers and dont know about operational things. Evgeniy Pepelyayev stressed that the G suit let the Sabre pilots do more sorties - basically 8 sorties of a Sabre for 3 sorties of a MiG. You still pull that Gs in combat - its the matter of how much do you need to rest afterwards. Its not Sabre overpulling the MiG - its more Sabres in the air.
  6. Engage emergency afterburner(switch on the left) ingame and compare. What is on video is definitely emergency afterburner.
  7. Как мне сказал один ветеран холодной войны, пилот МиГ-25 - МиГ-23 хорош всем кроме того что он опоздал на 10 лет. Проблема красной стороны - именно отсутствие маневренного ястреба с ракетами средней дальности и самостоятельным поиском ВЦ от появления серийного фантома до появления строевого МиГ-23 с Н003 а это больше 10 лет. Ну и очевидно же что ракет средней дальности для победы в ДВБ надо больше двух. Две могут позволить сблизиться до БВБ, который лотерея еще та. По поводу опыта - по наблюдаемым событиям не хватило ни "граната" ни "медведки".

  9. Су-15 был бы хорош дай ему другое крыло, ГШ-23 внутрь и прицел. Вообще промышленность с грехом пополам могла. Доктрина долгое время была кукурузная.
  10. Мне более серьезным кажется отсутствие тяжелого истребителя у красной стороны аж до Су-27. Можно сколько угодно обсуждать ЛТХ но когда в тебя летят семерки или тем более фениксы - ну вы поняли. Дыру мог бы заткнуть какой-нибудь МиГ Е-8 если присобачить к нему Р-8 например. Но вышла эпопея с изменяемой стреловидностью, провал с СВВП и ожидание допплеровского сапфира. Воистину, иногда проще - лучше.
  11. Appreciate the balance in the voice acting! Thanks! As for NDBs, are they affected by distance and terrain? AFAIK its a standart DCS engine feature since first Black Shark. Asking beacuse we can get a bearing on a distand another airfield's NDB while parked on the ground, but we cant do that in L-39 until taking off and gaining some altitude for example.
  12. Thats more about PVO homeland defence. VVS airforce had more advanced navigation instead of automated GCI, and were more independent and pilot-centric. MiG-21 we currently have is a VVS one. A common technique based on BRA callouts is having a map with drawn vector coordinates and drawing the enemy taskforce flightpath with a pen on your map on your lap. And plan a "?"-shape maneuver accordingly by yourself. Common by western Mirage operators too.
  13. Appreciate how scan bar literally paints the ground return with its pass. Now to make it paint contacts in this way(contacts now lag, but with some kind of their own logic of lag separate from the ground clutter. WIP or feature?) and it would look ready! Good job! Another question: should output fade until the next sweep or still be present?
  14. Its travel is extremely short for the mig, think about an extension. :(

  16. AN/ASG-14 получше чем ЦД-30. Отставание было, и к сожалению больше по управленческим причинам.
  17. По маневренности: а чего вы хотели от дельты? С двигателем нормально все, заглохнуть надо еще суметь. Радар по дальности чуть лучше(процентов на 10) чем в реале. Убийственная проблема модуля - прицел практически не реализован. Неподвижная сетка отмасштабирована неточно, подвижная сетка не работает ни в автоматическом ни в ручном режиме. Стрелять по ВЦ приходится по трассерам. Ну и своя кухня с навигацией, частично лечащаяся модами.

  20. There is sense in a trainer only if you are going to go through a real flight school training course. Maybe you can even join a squad that practices that, like https://www.avialetuchka.ru Kursant campaign is a good insight into real world military aviation, with timing, patterns and public safety first.

  24. We were demonstrated an undone representation. Simultaneously it was explicitly stated in newsletter this will be released this damned month as final. What the hell is not clear?
