  1. Like the title says, dcs keeps crashing during multiplayer. You can find dcs log, .dmp file, .crash file, dxdiag, the error report that windows gives you after crash, debrief file inside the attachment. Crash.rar
  2. i think so too.
  3. they wrote "up to %60" this time :d
  4. dude that question resulted in 26 pages of posts, are you sure you wanna do this :d
  5. im so freakin excited about this jet:pilotfly:
  6. Ye same here, if it wasnt for steam i dont think i would have heard anything about dcs.
  7. Ye you are right i just tried it again, this time they fired. Thanks for taking the time to answer^^
  8. ye, i dont know how to read, espcially in english. ye, nasa shouldnt be included in this discussion, its not like their specialty after all. ye, wind speed does not effect airspeed, afterall aircrafts travel in water not air. and for the last time, ye, that video shows nothing about wind effecting airspeed. The reason im using this forum is i want to learn more about aviation. Not gonna argue with you any further, im not learning anything from it.
  9. im still saying the samething. Edit: to be clear on the issue, i still think weathervaning will happen while flying. and i still think wind speed will effect both ias and tas. Edit: Shagrat even drew you a picture. Too hard to grasp i suppose. I might be wrong on both, i might be overlooking something (i dont think i am but it is possible) , still, in the end you will be the one who denied nasas explanation of weathercocking not me.
  10. ye it s the same.
  11. Hello fellas, couple of days back i created a target practice mission to play with my friends. you can find the mission file below. Mission is quite simple, we take off from senaki and need to destroy 7-8 groups around kutaisi city. Every group is identical to one another. couple of t72b tanks, btrs, 2 unarmed trucks, 1 manpad, 1 strela. But i cannot get strela to fire at us. My guess is strela needs another unit with him to work properly, but i couldnt find it. I checked the encyclopedia for information but i couldnt find it there either. So as you can understand my question is that, how can i find information on units that will need other units besides them to function? A10c.miz
  12. i can post some simple a10c practice missions so you can fiddle with them. ill post them in 10-15 mins. Edit: Here they are. In the target practice mission you got 7-8 enemy groups around kutaisi, every group has couple of t72b tanks, apc s, 2 unarmed trucks, 1 manpad unit and 1 strela. Im not sure if the strelas will fire though, i cant remember if they need another unit to help them. Senaki and kutaisi are your friendly airfields. Edit: feefifofum just told me, they should work fine on their own. They are working. gazace.rar
  13. I agree with the rest of your post but why the 2 velocity vectors needs to be equal? After aligning the longitudinal axis with the relative winds direction, there shouldnt be a velocity component of the relative wind on the lateral axis of the aircraft.
  14. cog will act as a pivot point if there is a difference of force on both sides
  15. Nice testing, i dont need to record and upload a video now i suppose:d Still i gotta say i dont understand why, from what i imagine it really should. Maybe im overlooking something while thinking about the situation. I would love to say it wont hurt to try in a real a/c but probably in this particular situation it will:d
  16. It's alright i know what they are, i mean ias, tas and gs. Hmm, how does a crosswind pushes you to the side then if wind doesnt apply any force?
  17. it does effect it, since i need different power settings to keep that ias same on both ways.
  18. having my dinner right now, ill probably post the video in a couple of hours. To change any objects velocity, you need to give it acceleration. For acceleration, you need to apply force. The force applied on an aircraft by a wind from any direction, will manipulate the aircrafts acceleration, so it will change its speed. Edit: @Buzzles well you are right what can i say.
  19. In that video im flying on a 90-270 course, in the first part my heading is 270 (which is in to wind) , in the second part my heading is 90 ( which is tailwind). In this situation while my ias and tas stays the same, my ground speed is significantly higher while flying in to the wind. My ias and tas being the same i cover more ground in a headwind, please explain to me why is that?
  20. On the contrary, wind does effect airspeed. In the video i tried maintaining 283 knots IAS. on a tail wind that 283 ias was equal to 317 tas and 288 gs but while i was flying in to the wind, that same 283 ias was equal to 317 tas and 346 gs. What that means is, in that same situation if i tried to maintain, lets say 300 gs (instead of an IAS value), the ias i get would be lower while i was flying on a tail wind. Only difference being the wind direction, it does effect airspeed.
  21. here is the video of tail winds effect on speed. Edit: gonna post the the one about weathervaning tonight.
  22. Just recorded video in dcs flying in to the wind and away from the wind. It seems like the tail wind effects the speed a lot. Uploading it right now it will be ready in half an hour or so. Loadout i picked was this, all pylons where empty, 0 chaff, 0 flare, 0 gau8 ammunition, %50 fuel. About the weathervaning issue, ive never flown an aircraft in my life or stayed in side the cockpit so i can observe. But we can try and see what happens in dcs, gonna record a video for that and upload that too.
  23. It doesnt need to overcome anything unless two forces facing each other on the same course line.
  24. I remembered something when i read your post, maybe this will help in some way. https://spaceflightsystems.grc.nasa.gov/education/rocket/rktcock.html Edit: On the other hand i dont know, if an airplane and a rocket tend to behave similarly in these situations.
