dunno about the 2.0 but my steam purchases worked just fine with dcs standalone.

First you need to set your LASER to ARM position on your AHCP(this panel is underneath your left MFCD).dont forget to switch to CCRP mode on your LGB profile inside your DSMS.You need to set your tgp SOI like EasyEB said and set your target SPI for CCRP mode. After that you need set your pointer setting for either BOTH or LSR, you can see this on the right side of your mfcd. After you release your bomb you need to start lasing your target, when you start lasing either a B symbol or L symbol ( depending on your pointer resource) should start flashing at the bottom of your MFCD. There is a setting called LATCH inside tgp. You can see this option by pressing OSB1/CNTL button on your mfcd. if the latch setting is set to ON 1 press of your lase button will activate laser pointer and it wont de-activate until you press that button again, if its set to OFF your laser pointer will work only while you holding down your lase button. you can see the bombs impact countdown on your huds bottom left corner. i dont know if this is the right way or not but i start lasing 10 seconds before impact. And one last thing you need to be aware of is that if you lase a point that cant be seen by the LGB s sensor, it will go balistic. for example lets say there is a building that is facing north , and you are approaching it from west and heading to east. you release your LGB 2 miles before you fly over past the target building. if you lase the east side of this building after you fly over it LGB s sensor probably wont be able to detect the laser. so it wont be able to guide itself.

well i love both of them.appearance wise both mig and a10 are really beautifull (only the pak fa looks better imo). And that red lighting inside the cockpit on a night time mission, it gives me the chills man^^ Systems wise i dont have a problem with a10 just need to keep reading and practicing, on mig i really hate the radar and that ecm pod( cant remember its name). I do suck at these systems, cant use the radar properly ( its either a bug or bad coding or maybe i just suck at it:d). weird thing is just before i bought the mig, in every video of it people were saying that it was a pain in the ass landing it. I ve never broken a landing gear with it or flatten a tire with it. Ive even landed it pretty much perfectly on my first try. On the other hand it took me 3 days of practice to learn landing a10c properly and i still flatten a tire or two with it 1-2 times out of 20. Ps: i really dont get why majority of the people here think a10 is ugly, i really like it. I get the part that a10 is not as slick as a modern fighter but this is like the difference between beautifull thin girl and a beautifull chubby girl. both of them are sexy in their way.

@Yurgon and@Razor18 oh I see my mistake now. But why do we have a HoF setting then? It really does seem meaningless, its not usefull and on top of that increasing its value can make every and each one of the bomblets go blind cos of the drift. Your first question still stands:d

i tried that after i saw a wind correction thread on this forum. i entered 6 layers of wind data and tried it with both 105 and 97. I dunno if i screwed up something else but it didnt work. Wind data only adjusts explosion point of the cbu, doesnt do anything about the sub munitions. dunno if you read what i wrote but here it is again: "The reason im telling you all this is i ve never changed anything but HoF when i use cbus. Everytime i change the HoF the kill count changes too. <== ( this means it actually affects the coverage area cos i practiced different HoF settings on the same enemy groups) In my limited knowledge of the cbus, i know these little bomblets with infrared sensors scan in a spiral cone below them. So like the radar beam on a fighter, cos of the scanning beams conical shape, it should cover more or less area depending on the distance between the surface area and the sensor." for the second part of my answer maybe i didnt explain myself clear enough lemme re-phrase it. Because of the bomblets infrared sensors scan pattern which is the spherical cone shape as shown in the image below If you increase (r-h) value which is our HoF, you will get an enlarged coverage area.

I just flew it 2 and gonna write my experience: 1)i didnt lose any of the flight but they cant sustain such altitude they were constantly stalling- diving- speeding up- gaining altitude and stalling all over again. it really looks like they are flying a retarded aerobatics formation:d 2)This one happened exactly same on my part except i did lase my target and it worked, gbu12 hit bullseye on them from 23800 feet msl.

Operation Piercing Fury Mission 9 Comrades
kylekatarn720 replied to kylekatarn720's topic in Problems and Bugs
played this mission today 1 more time. Helicopters crashed to each other again but this time one of them managed to land without the rear rotor blades. so the radio chatter came in told me to rtb. everything was fine. -
i can see the submunitions with parachutes if i watch the cbu s fall on F6 camera but right after the sub munitions being deployed camera stays centered on the cbu s explosion point. I cant center it on sub munitions.

1) i think u should ask for unguided bombs if u want them to use 87,97 and ask for guided bombs if u want them to use 103,105 wcmd. after all latter ones do have a guidance system. I used these commands before and they do work but i ve never checked for the munition that was used. Never had a doubt about it i guess. 2)Well i only meddled with HOF when using cbu s. In my experience you get the best results if you set the hof between 1200-1800. more than 1800 generally gets drifted too much cos of the wind and cannot kill as much as 1200-1800 range. less then 1200 cannot cover much ground cos of the low altitude and again cannot kill as much as 1200-1800 range. long story short, i use 1200 if they are staying close to each other or there is only 1 small or medium sized convoy and i use 1800 if they are stretched , scattered, too many in numbers or more than 2 parallel convoys. The reason im telling you all this is i ve never changed anything but HoF when i use cbus. Everytime i change the HoF the kill count changes too. In my limited knowledge of the cbus, i know these little bomblets with infrared sensors scan in a spiral cone below them. So like the radar beam on a fighter, cos of the scanning beams conical shape, it should cover more or less area depending on the distance between the surface area and the sensor.

Operation Piercing Fury Mission 9 Comrades
kylekatarn720 replied to kylekatarn720's topic in Problems and Bugs
happened 3 times in a row today for me but maybe i was just unlucky. i ll try it again tomorrow. -
At the end of the mission there are 2 Mi8 choppers that are supposed to rescue some friendly soldiers from evac point. the problem is these 2 morons keep crashing to each other while they are landing. So some help about this issue would be great .

Removing Error Messages in MFCD pages
kylekatarn720 replied to apolloace's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
here are two videos about cbu s. Yurgon suggested them to me when i had a similar question, they do clear things up about cbu s. -
I really dont know which one is more scary, trying to fly while you are drunk or trying to do those manuevers intentionally while you are sober :d Gotta keep that in mind :D Come to think of it, it really looks like my first time trying to land su25t couple of years back :d

Here we all read and practice to fly and there is this guy https://img-9gag-fun.9cache.com/photo/aAd1VPd_460sv.mp4 ps: dunno if its posted before or not, i just saw it

ye that would be good for me 2. Fps counters colour is pretty good, that could be usefull.

hey chiefsosa, i think something is wrong with your controls. go in to adjust conrols menu inside the options. there 2 drop down lists on the upper left corner. click on "A10C Sim" on the left one, and click one "Axis Commands" on the right one. this is the section you assign axises to actions. In case you are a total stranger to actions or axises, what you want to do is assign your stick to pitch and roll actions and your throttle levers to thrust left and thrust right actions. If you have rudder pedals, assign them to the rudder action. When i connected my warthog for the first time to my pc, dcs assign pitch roll thrust and rudder controls to both of my stick and throttle, so whenever i moved either one of them a10c started doing all kinds of crazy things.

well, there is no harm starting with a10c but it will be a bit more complicated. for example, if you tried landing with su25t instead of a10c you wouldnt need to use the systems that will guide you to the airport because su25t has simplified systems modelling. A10C on the other hand, has advanced system modelling which means you need to use and adjust the navigation systems that will guide you to that airport. if u did try that in su25t only thing u need to is change the Hud mode to RTN(return home) and cycle through RTN waypoints to choose the airfield you wanna land and the aircraft will adjust every component for that airfield cos it has simplified system modelling. A10c wont help you like that. when you want to do something with an aircraft, first you need to learn the systems that you will need. That means you have to read about those systems and practice. The reading part can be boring sometimes, in an aircraft like su25t reading part will be like 2-3 pages at max for one system but with an aircraft like a10c it could be a lot(and i really mean A Lot in this case) more. So if you dont mind reading a lot instead of playing the sim a lot until you learn the systems that govern the aircraft, stick with the a10c, but if you think doing this will make you get bored from the sim change to an aircraft with simplified systems modelling. In my case, i did it like this su25t>Flaming Cliffs3(su33>su27>f15)>mig21-bis>uh-1h huey>A10c and im still learning the a10c. Long story short, i dont think its about being easy or not, its just about how much time you invest in this sim.

@Yurgon first off all thanks for the reply^^. about the tgp problem, i already did the repair thing didnt change anything. let me put it this way, did you play the operation piercing fury campaign? there was a mission in which fob suse is under attack and there are some prisoners who escaped suse. a helicopter picks them up somewhere south of suse and you need to watch that helicopter see where it goes and destroy it after it lands. in the steam version i always lose sight of the helicopter cos he is moving faster than i can slew my tgp but in the standalone version i have no problem tracking it with the tgp cos i can slew faster than that helicopter. I always try to keep my speed around 200 knots while doing an attack run. I didnt think about this matter much, i guess i was just trying to maximize the time i have to aim accurately. But ill look into it and learn the right way to do it. One last question im having some problem with circling an area properly. i usually keep drifting away from the area im trying to circle while looking for targets. Do you know any charts that i can look up for this ? like a slant range-turn rate chart which says something like " to circle around a point on your 90°-270° line you need a turn rate of X-degrees when you are Y-km s away from target.

oh i didnt know that. that really could be the reason. but i dont remember reading somethin like that in the manual. im gonna try it out tonight. thats probably it though i use airbrakes alot and dont really pay attention to them. thanks man:)

hello fellas, 1)im having some trouble using gun/pac. Im probably doing something wrong but i cant figure it out so here it is, every mission i play i do everything exactly the same way but half the time Pac system doesnt stabilize my pipper. i always use tgp to set spi on target before i attack. once the spi is set, i turn to the target and start diving, set master arm on, set gun pac switch to up position, put the pipper on target and fire. i got hotas warthog stick so i have a 2 stage trigger and first stage is for pac second stage is for firing as u guys know. anyway like i said half the time pac doesnt stabilize the pipper. i dont know if u guys can figure the problem out with the information i gave. if u cant figure it out, i would appriciate some tips about using Pac. Like how you are using it and what i should or shouldnt do while the gun/pac is on. 2)i cant use cbu s properly. cant hit anything with them. sometimes i cant even spot the blast area. long story short i suck at cbu s. If someone can point me in the right direction it would be really great. 3)i have both the standalone 1.5.something beta and the steam version. I generally play with the steam version cos i started with that and my logbook progress and campaign progress s are on that.anyway on the steam version tgp slew rate is way slower than the standalone version. And i cant change the slew rate on maverick. i mean i can input what i want in there but i dont think it works. I cant think of any problems that i experience right now other than these. Thank you for your time and sorry for my english if something is wrong in there.
