Any chance of the AV-8B Harrier II plus?
Saltat_cum_mortem replied to Hummingbird's topic in AV-8B N/A
It was expected that it would be apart of the package. RAZBAM was just waiting for A/G radar to be released by ED. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk -
What is your method for VLanding onto the carrier?
Saltat_cum_mortem replied to StandingCow's topic in AV-8B N/A
Either the Marine was doing a very rapid cross check or he wasn't happy with that landing. That was an interesting reaction when he touched down. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk -
RCV only transmits when it's receiving a signal. RPT is continuous transmission. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

the most realistic A/G radar ever done for a game
Saltat_cum_mortem replied to rweaves6's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I would like to add that the operational requirements of current wars (notably the necessity of VID and a lack of significant armored opposition) likely preclude the usefulness of A/G radar for targeting. So I suspect that real life use has little bearing on what is realistic for our purposes. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk -

Nosewheel steering toggles radio menu
Saltat_cum_mortem replied to Saltat_cum_mortem's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yes, I know that I have to hold the button down. I suspect that it is a niche issue which is why I explained the circumstances surrounding it. I'll try to recreate it later, but I never expected it to be anything other than a low priority bug so I'm not going to be putting a rush on it either. -

Maybe I want clear enough. NWS was inhibited in the above scenario Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk -
Nosewheel steering toggles radio menu
Saltat_cum_mortem replied to Saltat_cum_mortem's topic in Bugs and Problems
This is while taxiing. I don't know how that could be a feature Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk -
I have an NTTR mission that is set up as a practice area for all of the aircraft that I fly. I flew the Hawk for about an hour before switching to the F-5E. When I started up and started taxiing, I noticed that the nosewheel steering wasn't working. After checking my key bindings I noticed that the radio menu was getting toggled by the button that I had bound to nosewheel steering. Thinking that the button may have somehow gotten connected to two actions, I moved nosewheel steering to another button on my joystick. When I tested that button, it was still activating the radio menu. The fact that I forgot to disconnect air and power may be a contributing factor. After realizing my error, I called out to the crew to disconnect air and power, even though I really didn't have to anymore, and that is when I discovered the problem with my steering button. I looked to see if this bug had already been reported, but I couldn't find it. I hope this helps.

Looking for settings recommendation

The performance issues are unlikely to be your equipment's fault. I assume that you're tweaked your graphic settings. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk -
[Suggestion] NTTR Map Area Increase
Saltat_cum_mortem replied to ChickenSim's topic in DCS Core Wish List
You could add NAS Fallon, just north of the map, to your list. But it's apparently been made clear that no additions are going to be made. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk -
Thrustmaster TWCS Throttle
Saltat_cum_mortem replied to Joni's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Quality is good enough for $70, but that's assuming it's only a temporary solution. Yes there's jitter. I have the paddles set to the zoom axis and it is noticeable at times. The rocker is a pair of buttons. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk -
This squadron has been decommissioned as of the 23rd of May 2017. I would like to thank all of the pilots who have shown an interest in the squadron and hope that you will find a good fit elsewhere.

Introducing the VKB-Sim ‘Modern Combat Grip’ (MCG)

They've made changes to how they're marketing it. There's supposed to be something like three versions of it. I think that's why it's not on the website anymore Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk -

first of all, I wanted to just go ahead and introduce myself as the new adjutant for the DCS:VMFA-251 Thunderbolts. I also wanted to say that four of us got into the air this last night, and it was a lot of fun. But, I think I can safely say that we all need a lot of work. Furthermore, being a part of a squadron has more to do with learning how to work with the other pilots than it does learning a specific airframe. I say all of this to point out that this is the time to join this squadron. Join us while we're still new at this. It will be a whole lot more intimidating when you are the only one that can't fly formations. I'm not saying that there's no expertise in the squadron, but I'm pretty sure we all feel a little noobish after last night. Anyway, that's my spiel. Until next time. Signing off.
