  1. I would also add that once you get to know the airspeed indicator, a quick glance at the position of the needle will tell you what you need to know.
  2. I find that sometimes I start tensing up and trying to squeeze the black out of the stick. When that happens it makes my inputs jerky and excessive, I find that wiggling my toes helps with keeping that from happening.
  3. What time period are you looking to do? I have a large collection of photos of VF-142 and am slowly working my way through painting their last cruise. I'm happy to share any reference images if you want.
  4. I know it is a really minor thing that has been mentioned as likely not happening (and that is fine) but I would really like to be able to remove the fuel tank pylons, I love the look of a completely clean tomcat.
  5. Get rid of the folder you have that is just F14 and keep the rest of the path the same. So: Saved Games/DCS.openbeta/Liveries/F-14A-135-GR
  6. Yes, the forrestal was added back in October and in 2.7.x
  7. I am fairly certain that is due to the missiles while under thrust exceed terminal velocity, once the motor burns out they slow down due to drag. I have not checked but if you drop bombs from a very high speed they will slow down to terminal velocity as well.
  8. Around 93 million miles or one AU isn't it?
  9. Yes most vr gamers and non vr gamers want the pilot body, but that is not what your argument was, you said they could no longer play without the body I think in this whole thread (And I have not re read the whole thing today) there has been all of two people (I'm including you in that number, correct me if I am mistaken) who have said something to the effect of they won't fly without the pilot body.
  10. I know quite a number of the people I fly with use VR (myself included) not one of us cannot play without the pilot body a couple even prefer it off. I think 95% is a gross exaggeration.
  11. If I am not mistaken you should keep nws on until ~60 kts on the takeoff roll. I can't remember where I read that though and I am work and cant check any of my sources.
  12. No it would work like a keypress, for example flaps are lowered when the F key is pressed down (the on position) and when released flaps are raised (the off position). Though with switches they generally stay in whatever position you leave it unlike keys.
  13. I think he is talking about an "on else off" type setup.
  14. According to the checklist it is setup by the RIO during post start, before takeoff.
  15. It is the same as this but would look and work like a AIM-54 https://marvineng.com/product/catm-120bc-captive-air-training-missile/
  16. Right above the red line
  17. I just tested as well and Jester will add all of the waypoints correctly.
  18. That is the procedure I have always done, but it has been a long time since I have had time to sit down and fly a mission where I need more than three waypoints. I'll check once I am home from work something may have broken in one of the patches since then.
  19. I've been able to have Jester add in those extra waypoints, and one of the guys who RIOs in my group says you can add them yourself as RIO as well.
  20. I think it ended up being called the LANTIRN Targeting System once modified for the F-14 I think it ended up being called the LANTIRN Targeting System once modified for use on the F-14.
  21. The F-14 only got the targeting pod from the LANTIRN system not the navigation pod.
  22. Make sure you are in Air to Air HUD mode, have a weapon type selected, and that you turned MSL Prep and SW Cool on long enough before firing for the missiles to be ready.
  23. Make sure air source is not set to off or RAM
  24. Make sure you are trying to engage it within +/- 200 FPM Vertical Speed
