What it currently looks like in a vehicle. No amount of tweaking can make this look like anything decent or even remotely resembling a modern-day MBT's thermal imaging package. And what's up with our binoculars now? There was a very brief period where we had decent thermals for vehicles but that time has long passed. We've been stuck with this for ages! It's awful and un-usable!

I bought a Leap Motion hand tracking device, and tried it out in DCS VR. The experience was not very great. Even though the tracking works fine in the Leap Motion App, my hands are all kinds of crooked in VR. My Fingers do weird stuff in DCS, even though they show up correctly in Leap Motion. And even worse is the pointing in DCS. The cursor doesn't go where your finger points, it is very awkwardly positioned, I had to twist my hand way left, and way down, so the cursor went somewhat in the right position. It seems to point from the middle of your hand, not the finger, which is very annoying. And it wiggles around so much, it is almost impossible to hit buttons precisely. Additionally, my hands disappear regularly in VR, without moving them. I have to move around my hands to get them to be tracked again. All of these Problems are non-existent in the Leap Motion Control Panel I also tried the "Fingers" app, that is supposed to emulate a mouse cursor by pointing your finger, but it also tracks your whole hand, not your finger, so I have to move my hand around in a very awkward manner to point where I want. I tried different tracking modes in leap motion, desktop, screen mounted and headset mounted, but nothing seems to improve the tracking. I am very disappointed with the implementation of Leap Motion in DCS. The Leap Motion Tracking itself is very good, but in DCS it is very very bad. Which is a shame, since finger pointing in DCS would be VERY beneficial for VR.

Hello everyone, The DCS P-47 is very well done. However, improvements to the module will always attract more consumers. So, there are some inaccuracies apparent in the DCS P-47D cockpit. My Background: I have been involved at the CAF for 7 years. Specifically, CAF SoCal Wing. Have spoken and worked with vets from WWII, Korea, and Vietnam and friend of during this period. We also have a private library with hundreds of technical manuals and documents. With this, I provide only precise information with my findings. For the DCS P-47, there are 4 features missing that I would like to bring forth. 1. The P-47D-30 with gyro sight features a dimmer knob and sight selector on the same unit. The same unit left of the DCS P-51D K-14 gyro sight as well. The DCS P-47D is missing this control unit on the right thigh panel. Picture: (4th photo) 2. Tail Warning Radar – same as DCS P-51D (Field mod). The light and bell are located left of the K-14 sight in the P-47D-40 (Only model with evidence). The control unit for the field mod is located behind the IFF destructor box. Picture on unit in cockpit: (2nd photo) Picture of unit for proof on P-47N manual: (3rd photo) 3. Rear View Mirror – in the form of: plexiglass on canopy, truck mirror reused on front canopy, dedicated mirror inside cockpit. Field mod. This was more favorable than the tail radar. Not every P-47 had this, but experienced pilots knew the mirror was important. -Picture of Variations are included: (1st, 6th, 7th) 4. Pilot Headrest – this should be factory. Pictures provided. Again, the module is very well done and it’s obvious the developers have created a warbird module never done as accurately and precisely as this depicted. However, improvement is always a beneficial virtue to seek and so I believe these additions will only make DCS stronger in WWII. Thank you all, Rob

Today I was playing on a server and spawn in a hanger in Anderson AFB, I find myself unable to taxi, due to the wing already contact the hanger wall, although I can sweep the wing back and taxi, maybe it would be a good idea to spawn F14 with wing swept. Also Im having a really hard time to takeoff on the runway on Anderson AFB aswell. For some reason, it keep drifting hard to one side, and I cannot correct it back with both stick and rudder. I never experienced this issue on other runway, and I can also land on it without issue. Only when takeoff. I did disengage NWS before takeoff, and I also tried anti skid on and off, nothing seems to help. I tried about 6 times, and only managed to takeoff once without spining off the runway.

Hi everyone, Another issue I've found on the Marianas maps - that being the model for the NDBs. At the moment they're these absolutely gigantic lattice towers that look nothing like the real thing. They also have a LOD that makes them basically invisible until you're less than a km away from it (though this might be my display - it's tiny). The one on Guam is a small building with a triangular lattice tower that's probably a third of the height of the tower that's currently there. Incidentally the terrain mesh looks off - Google Earth at least thinks it's roughly level with the road, and is essentially flat - here it's a fairly significant ditch. This isn't so much of a problem though - because it is less noticeable. The one at Rota International Airport is again, a much thinner mast, that's probably a third of the height - this is the best RL image I can find of it: Compared to this (-camera 75.618393 0.231608 48.282757 -cameradir -0.148210 -0.165008 0.975093): Obviously more zoomed in, because at the distance of the RL shot, the LOD makes it basically invisible - track posted below. Then there's the one at Saipan - easily the worst of the 3, not only is it the same massive tower, but it's positioned almost directly on the approach path into runway 7 of Saipan International Airport. The actual mast is a small, white, guyed, triangular lattice tower, that's looks to be about double the height of your average light-pole/street-lamp. Or about 1/6th of the height (if that) of the huge lattice tower that's currently there. The geometry also seems off, according to google street view, the area is in a bit of ditch but a barely noticeable one. Here's a google street-view of the site: And here's essentially the same shot in DCS (-camera 179.211235 0.043152 99.909885 -cameradir 0.125941 0.018311 -0.991869) Notice that there's also a load of electrical objects present where there aren't (the actual site only has 3-4 objects - the antenna, 2 very small buildings and a wooden pole (?). The geometry also seems off as well, it's much more flat IRL by the looks of it than in DCS. Hell, maybe that was intentional - because if it was correct it would definitely be interfering with the approach path. And here is it in relation to runway 7 at Saipan International (-camera 179.100563 0.105914 99.596342 -cameradir 0.346104 -0.047823 0.936976): Saipan's_Enormous_NDB.trk EDIT: This should've been posted in the bugs and issues section.

Hi all. I have a Dell G7 gaming laptop and, of DCS World. I have a display issue. The window doesn’t display fully. For example, when I do the start up training for any of the modules I cannot turn on the battery because I can’t see it. It’s outside the window. That sucks since I’m unable to train. The correct resolution, 1920x1080, is set both on the Dell and the module. Any and all help will be appreciated. Thanks, Gunslinger II
