To create a SPI which i believe the instructor is telling you, then you need to hold down the the command for about 2 seconds (Long). If you just press it briefly (short), it will toggle tracking modes (Area, point). Not sure what you are asking on autopilot, but will try to answer anyway. The autopilot will only help you fly in 3 modes: "Hold current flight path" "Hold current altitude and current heading" "Hold current altitude and current bank angle" It will not fly routes or waypoints on it's own.

Yep, as i understand it, those are programmable LED's. And it's planned to be programmable in a future version of T.A.R.G.E.T. But for now, they should only light up momentarily (Blink on/off), while plugging the throttle in, and then remain off. Personally i use the paddle switch for TrackIR centering, and "MIC button" to pause. I also set up "MIC UP" for Teamspeak PTT. Available buttons/Switches that are not used in DCS Warthog are: Paddle Switch MIC Button press MIC Up Slew Button

Decreasing Loading Times - Back to old GUI
Runibl replied to HungaroJET's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Nice tip... Just got me Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, and am in the process of reinstall. So i'm gonna see if how the new GUI is now.... Might try this tip though if it's still slow. -
Great surprise ED.... Thank you for that. Downloaded and installed, gonna try it out. I'm gonna leave my laptop seading a while, i only get 40 kB/s upload, but that's better than nothing.

Might go and try out dropbox myself, could be useful. I was very lucky, this monday when one of our shops reopened after some new marketing stunt or something... They offered iPads to a reduced price of 500 kroners (Around 91$), to the first 10 people to come and buy it..... I was number 7 :)

Not at my pc at the moment so can not confirm. But as i recall, all i did was connect the ipad to the pc and open itunes, after making sure it's connected ok, i drag the manual from wherever it was in windows explorer and dropped it on the iPad icon within itunes. Then i could just open up iBooks and find it there in the pdf section. I will have to confirm this at a later time. Edit: Confirmed, just dragged the manual over "Runibl's iPad" icon, and it was put in iBooks pdf shelf. The iPad user guide, that is bookmarked in safari on the iPad also tells how to do it, in the ibooks chapter about syncing: In iTunes, choose "File > Add To Library" then select the pdf file. Connect the iPad to the computer. Select the pdf in the books pane in iTunes. Then sync the iPad. Haven't tried it this way myself yet. Hope this helped.

Recently got the iPad myself, and think it's excellent for reading manuals. Used Itunes to transfer manuals myself, easy as drag and drop. Ooh, and with the right app, it's excellent for map reading.

Follow up question from me if you don't mind. How much points do the GPU and PSU count? (don't see them on that list), as i have these on the way.

People Using TMWH that never bellyed...
Runibl replied to Succellus's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 Rev A2 No problems. Always unplugged when not in use to save space, which also means never been plugged in while booting pc. In use since 1st week of Nov. 2010 Throttle #00553: plugged in USB port on case that is linked directly to Motherboard. Joystick #00174: plugged in Powered USB Hub. Edit: Added information. -
Currently on Win XP. But plans are to transfer to Win 7 64bit on next upgrade, which is planned in the coming year at some point. Saving money for it right now.

Thanks for the heads up.

TM WH & Teamspeak. Easy work around?
Runibl replied to Flamin_Squirrel's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Mic switch forward, back and down are used in the sim (VHF AM, VHF FM and UHF, respectively). Mic switch up is free, and not used in the DCS: A-10C As well as mic switch button press is also free. The Paddle switch on the joystick is also free to use. Edit: Slew button press is also free. The rest is used in the sim. -
HOTAS Warthog, DCSA10 & Teamspeak 3 Push to Talk
Runibl replied to FZG_Kes's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Glad to see my checklist was helpful :) i have myself assigned TS3 PTT on "Mic switch up(MSU)", and TrackIR on the" paddle switch (S4)". Still available and unused is "Mic switch in (MSP)", "Slew switch in (SC)" and the throttle rotary. CMS push down is already assigned for the jammer, and the red throttle button is already autopilot. -
Help Adding commands in A10 for WH
Runibl replied to Nightcargo's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Posted this in the beta forum here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1029832#post1029832 In case you don't have access. This is because if any of the switches is in an active state, then you will not be able to assign anything in ts3. -

Any X52 (not pro version) profiles out there?
Runibl replied to kingneptune117's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I agree on not using others profiles, But If you are looking for inspiration, for your own, then here's mine: I set almost all of my controls within Black Shark, and try to keep it as much to the real one as possible. Obviously with compromises. setting up your desk for controller use
Runibl replied to manne's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
This is how my desk looked like flying Open Falcon last time: Same as it is now except, Cabinet is down on the floor to the left, laptop is where the cabinet was, and only use MFDs & MFP with Falcon so far. The Joystick is in a nice position so i can rest my arm on the arm rest on the chair.
