  1. Thank you ED, this is my new favourite now. Time to put the Dora into storage. This is a great A/C, and so well modelled too. Perfect for airstrikes and it's not even the dedicated ground attack version yet. Gotta love that mythical, magical radial growling in front of you. Echt Geil, meine Damen und Herren!
  2. As per the pic attached. Anyone else seeing this? Those lines appear randomly and then disappear again.
  3. Underpowered or not, it's still a great plane for us groundpounders and seems very well modelled overall. Took the A/C for a spin yesterday and will probably fly it more than the D from now on, because I'm very impressed with it now that it's finally out of EA. Kudos Yo-Yo and team, the A-8 rocks! PS. Any idea if the rockets are usable for ground attack, BTW? I know they're A-to-A weapons, but still.
  4. Sorry for being a bit salty up there, but as I said, ED probably won't do anything about it. I was serious when I suggested you ask the modder community for help.
  5. Sure you do. You either give ED a sizable amount of money, or stop yearning for something that's not important, or ask the modders if they can turn the box into something that emits annoying noise without serving any purpose whatsoever. Your choice.
  6. Well, I personally wouldn't venture into judging his level of smartness here at all. But as concerns this, he's absolutely right regardless. So we'll just let you believe what you want and note that we'll never see the Detrola modelled, because it just wouldn't make any sense whatsoever. That OK with you?
  7. Why the haste? The next round is on the house. :music_whistling:
  8. It depends on what you've got installed. Mine was about 4.2 gigs IIRC.
  9. Roger that Fox, thank you.
  10. I think the system was used in the U.S. only? Not sure though, ask Saburo, he's in the know and thus did correct me with utmost severity in this thread already ;) :D
  11. For me, the performance did seem better. Have not done any F/S comparisons, though, so by feel only. But still.
  12. Auld Glesga springs to mind as well.
  13. To make the Detrola work as intended, you'd need a dedicated beacon network. And that's not going to happen, I'm afraid.
  14. How? Is the engine modelled incorrectly, or did the subtype have better engines available than what we've now got?
  15. TL;DR Can't be arsed with a wall of textual rambling. But does an exact BORT# exist, or has one ever existed, that had this implemented? Because if not, just forget about it.
  16. Well, he actually said nothing of the sort, he just said your idea isn't realistic. Strawman much?
  17. No, you don't, because it's just an empty box with nothing inside.
  18. Probably not, since as Saburo pointed out already there's no supporting infrastructure for them in the sim. And what would be the point anyway? Implementing, say, an A-N beacon network just for the Mustang makes no sense, because there'd be lots of pain in the form of expenditures and manpower needed, but no gain whatsoever since there's no market for it. So nope, ED's not going to do it. Better ask the modders if there's anything they can do about it, if you really want it that badly.
  19. So you're expecting them to add those places because one mission needs it?
  20. What makes them important? All maps have omissions like these and I've never thought it makes a difference one way or another.
  21. IIRC also called a four course system, replaced by VORs in the 1950s, with their 360 possible courses to or from the beacon.
  22. Ach, so it was an Adcock system? I always thought it was an early NDB-type receiver. Well you live and learn.
  23. Just checked its specs and its receiving range was 200-400KHz, so it could be used as a limited NDB receiver right away.
  24. And you may need a refresher course on VRS, among other things. Just sayin'.
  25. Saitek Pro Flights. No idea why this doesn't work on your end.
