Hear hear, We'd be stupid to throw money at the problem because the lucky few are able to, open and close of it is, spent the money on the promise that F18 would be the focus, the promise has been broken, no more money on anything else until that's rectified.

Unacceptable, those users claiming that we should be patient are just outright wrong, clearly shifting modules of a new flashy nature has become more important than finishing a product. I do not support this behavior. How can you put this feature on an aircraft that has been out a shorter length of time by a period of 2 years! We need commitment, we purchase EA on the understanding that the features promised are being worked on... Of course ED's work is fantastic and revolutionary, nobody is discounting that... I'm disappointed

Best Way to Show-Off/Show-Case DCS VR to Someone Who Does NOT Fly?
razgriz33 replied to Gnat's topic in Virtual Reality
I can't remember which version of dcs this occurred on, but I made a quick track of a hawk flying in the Georgia area and when I played it back it followed my takeoff rather well but eventually it took a much lower path than I had flown and eventually I killed my poor sister somewhere in the mountains! Oops :p I'm sure most of us recall our terrifying first experience with crashing into the ground in VR -
I have the opposite view to the respectable chaps here. I find it a challenge, although it must be said I'm using a 970GTX. I think then you need a smooth FPS count to notice a small dot moving on the screen in order to dogfight effectively. I can't prove this but this is why I think I'm struggling when compared to these guys. Or maybe I just suck ;P p.s. and in multiplayer don't forget that the guys on screens have SUPERZOOM abilities so they'll most likely spot you before you spot them

What a lovely sentiment from ED Bart if ever i get to fly with you online and on comms, I shall address you as "Side Hatch" ;)

I think my undercarriage will be a bit sticky trying to land this thing, Release hype :)

I too would like to register my interest in seeing this come soon. Perhaps polychop and Ed might be able to help BST?

One little remark with regards to aircraft capable as per the OP, The F5e is also capable of carrying a gbu12 laser guided munition, it does need the JTAC to pre-agree a laser code with the pilot before takeoff, the F5 pilot changes it in his kneeboard prior to engine start as i understand it. Something similar I imagine for the mirage.

This would also interest me.

TM Warthog Mouse Nipple into Axes/Hat
razgriz33 replied to Fig's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
There has been talk of this in the past, other than recommending the use of the forum search function I don't know what the latest is. I am however interested in this too so if you find anything, please do reply :) -
Hi Smil. I've been using the rift CV1 for a few weeks now. It takes a little homework to get set up but in an effort to help a potential VR user here's some key points for you: Pixel Density is a hot topic, what this does is gives us a clearer picture in the cockpit by rendering a display at say a PD of 2 (Pixel density) of 2 times the VR display's resolution then squashing it back down to the display's resolution. It's very gpu intensive, I use a nvidea 970, it's playable but I wouldn't complain if you gave me anything better. Model enlargement is another one. I've played buddyspike's blue flag with no model enlargement and found it difficult but not impossible to find targets. However in single player I can use and abuse model enlargement to my advantage. Dogfighting from my experience requires a good frame rate to notice changes to a smooth picture, a tiny silhouette moving abnormally across the sky is harder when the FPS are lower.. Ground fighting is a little tricky without a targetting pod/system but again not impossible. I hope this helps :) Edit for extra boring info:

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 8

scratch that, just got nailed by a ka50 in my only available gazelle M variant, why can't we have an L as well as an M on airfields :( All the fighters are off playing cards up at batumi or something the other half that were on blue are now playing on red now that blue is having a hard time. Need some of that red spirit but honestly i'm exhausted. What makes sense is that the losing team get's encouraged, MORE air defences for less cities for example. Good game, well played those that were on red from the start  -

To put it simply, SR in my mind is outstanding, the love and effort YOU put into this shows. You won't please everybody so don't worry about a little negativity. Myself and I'm betting a few others that have used SR would surely like to buy you a drink! Cheers to you. Also a big thanks to Gregzagk for his efforts. The server numbers speak for themselves

then removing the F10 map i see here is not to actually solve any problems, more just to be harsher to the playerbase? that's what i'm seeing in these posts.
-
I use the F10 map for on-the-fly flight planning, you can't draw on the kneeboard charts in game, nor can you go to mission planner and set your own WPoints down before starting, so in an aircraft like the gazelle I had to actually pull data into a note on my phone and use that to navigate with. for the huey, MI8, hawk, F5 etc i imagine it's a little less precise, an actual printed chart might be useful there. wasn't somebody selling those at one point? Keep up the good fun chaps, i'm rather enjoying myself on blue flag :) oh also GCI for navigation should be used sparingly, for example when you have a lot to think about with a damaged aircraft GCI might quickly draw you a bearing but joe bloggs not using the radio navaids provided at airports should get a slap on the wrist.

Perhaps a little off topic from the main thread of discussion, but going back to my earlier post of being a new guy learning the ropes. I've just had a fantastic session after the third try. I'm using VR so firstly a few points on this aimed at anybody looking at this with interest: It's a little difficult at first and I'm not 100% sure on what the allowed model enlargement policy is but it's definitely not impossible to play at 1.8 PixDensity, it just takes some getting used to. One major gripe is the F10 map (as those of you with VR know), so what i did was gather the coordinates in degrees, minutes and seconds as to where the points of interest in this mission are (and if you want them drop me a pm), you can then use that in our unfortunately blank textured F10 map by just using the ruler tool and dragging out a bearing and range, or in my case use the Gazelle's NADIR system to navigate. The server was kinda quiet when I had my first success and I think for a totally new person that's a good time to try it out. Eventually a GCI (basically the guy that's the battlespace commander) came online and improved my end user experience even more. Using SRS was great! I monitored TS as it was quiet (i don't think i'd do that when it's busy), and stuck to transmitting and receiving in SRS. Anyway just thought I'd share what worked for me as a new user, I hope it's useful to somebody somehow.

Thank you for your prompt response, I'll take you up on that offer :) (might be tomorrow late evening some time after 2000 UTC+1)

I post something asking for tips and advice nobody bats an eye... somebody mentions an 80's era and everybody loses their minds... What I've just read while searching for an answer to my post is disgraceful. A bunch of non constructive bickering about what was available in what era and "if i was running this i'd do it like this". Perhaps -some- and only some of the members on this forum that are guilty of this childish behaviour need to stop bickering about which shade of red tape they would put on things and more time submitting constructive feedback and answering queries for potentially interested persons. I would still like an answer to any of these questions please if some of you can tear yourself away from being cruel to each other: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2846400#post2846400 hopeful regards.
