Hello Everybody I noticed that during during all missions (at least mission 1-6) I can't see Friendly SADL Networked Members on TAD.I'm wspecially missing my own flight for TA and CAS purposes. There are times wheren I can see them. For example from take-off till WP2. But then they disappear. Occasionally the reappear but then they disappear again. This makes assigning SPI's for coordinated ground strikes impossible. Additionally, when the JTAC says "sending data" no data is sent. I can't WILCO or CNTCO. This may derive from the same problem or from another. Does somebody experience the same obervations? Can ED confirm such a bug, if it's one at all? Fly safe Emuyen

I experienced the same. Maybe ED will someday answer..

1. "Between 21 June and 5 July, save 50% off on most DCS World titles from our e-Shop!" 2. You'll never know. You may also consider to buy the modules at full price to support development, if you like what they do. 3. See 1.

Instead of playing the missions one by one and hoping that DCS aknowledge your success (doesn't work 100%) play the single missions. You find the single mission by selecting "mission" instead of "campaign" on the main screen. There you just need to browse to the campaign folder and start the missions one by one. It's also much "easier" than editing the log since this does not affect the log at all. Side note: It is a pity that ED has such a bad support of the campaigns. It may be lack of staff. The campaigns are good but also complex too. Baltic Dragon or Maple Flag does a much better work in this regard. Despite of this: keep the good work up

BFT06 Instructor is drunk! Or am I?
Emuyen replied to Nooch's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
you may try to gently leave the runway on the side with more space to roll in the dirt. At least I would try it like that in a real plane (since in DCS the fence is filled with high explosives) -
Good Morning Sabre / Good Morning Everybody First of all, again: I enjoy this campaign really very much. Due to busy real life I looked forward excitedly to the past weekend. Finally, in the Day Mission Management PO I could bring together what the campaigns taught me. The feeling of giving CAS is special (to me at least). It's a good mix of slow and fast paced moments. Unfortunately, I had to leave the mission uncompleted due to real life is a bicth. The mission briefing says "Attack Targets of Opportunity". Is the completion of TIC calls enough to pass this PO or is the destruction of "targets of opportunity" required? I didn't attack any targets of opportunity because I wanted to preserve ammunition for the TIC calls. Fly safe Emu

AAT07 - Kill All Targets?
Emuyen replied to ESzczesniak's topic in A-10C Advanced Aircraft Training Qualification Campaign
By the way, I'd reccommend to fly the campaigns as single missions. This way you can go to the next mission, when something like "alost" truck happens a couple of times. Yes, I take the Qualification seriously. But again, it's a hobby and it's about fun too. :music_whistling: -
AAT07 - Kill All Targets?
Emuyen replied to ESzczesniak's topic in A-10C Advanced Aircraft Training Qualification Campaign
This is actually a good point. While I absolutely love to brrrrrrt some grounds unit away, the last tank always pissed me up. I always felt, that for some reasons the last tank always got some sort of extra armour. -
this!

Uzi 1-1 uses 124am. No point in contacting him 4 times over FM Radio (like I did :joystick:)

Congratulations to the BFT and AFT Grade! The prohibted areas are the cities. Just don't shoot when you have city lights under your aircraft. If you respect the ingress points (IP) you'll always have an attack corridor without any cities in it. For gun strafes and unguided bomb attacks JTAC will give you attack headings too, which mostly will deconflict with friendly units and urban areas. Just do what you're told to :-D If you rifle or gun over a city mighty instructor Saber will order you to abort the mission and exit the MOA. Have fun with the challenges! o7

Just found myself another thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=203021 @Sabre I think you may delete this post, since it's irrelevant. o7 Emu

AAT07 - Kill All Targets?
Emuyen replied to ESzczesniak's topic in A-10C Advanced Aircraft Training Qualification Campaign
I think mighty Instructor Saber will teach us to employ our armament economically. How do you fire your rokets? Viggen-like all in one go for maximal area damage or individually in a very low pass? It's definitively possible to kill all targets. Make sure that you approach the tanks in the convoy from behind. They require markably lesser rounds than from the front. You may also like Recon Stewart's flythrough. He explains also every step he does. There you may see one of the possibilities to pass this PO, Airman! :pilotfly: -
Hey guys Does the copick flood lights work for you? When I turn them on the bulb actually is on, but no light is shed over the panels. Thank to muscle memory I'm still able to start the bird, but I usually like a light shimmer of flood lights during flight too. I'm playing with an Oculus Rift and my gamma is set to 1.5. Do you encounter this problem too? @Sabre: What gamma setting do you reccommend? Fly safe Emu

I can reccommend you the tactical traning qualification campaign by Maple Flag. There you can learn every aspect of the work with a JTAC. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/de/shop/campaigns/a-10c_ttq_campaign/ Honestly, I can reccommend you all three campaigns to learn how to master the A10C. You think you can already a lot. Let instructor Sabre teach you the truth :D

are we there yet?

A-10C Tactical Training Qualification Campaign
Emuyen replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in A-10C TTQ Campaign
I think our instructor wants us to apply the ROE. We should judge if the blast of the Maverick could harm friendly forces depending on the distance blue to target and possibly the cover of blue (I think they stand behind a wooden fence). In this case we should judge that the apc is to near to the blue forces and that's why we should switch to the gun. If using the maverick we should shoot only when the APC is the furthest away. Honestly, I always had the feeling that the standing APC was far engough away. But I'll guess we need to adapt to pass this one :joystick: -
TAC 11 - Uzi11 - frist engagement type 2 instead of type 3

Just for the record. Replayed the mission yesterday just for fun. UZI now gives a Type 3 mission again. -
TAC 11 - Uzi11 - frist engagement type 2 instead of type 3
Emuyen replied to Emuyen's topic in A-10C TTQ Campaign
IIRC, 30-270 has to be understood as "open heading window". You can attack from any direction between 30 and 270. Which is more than 75% of the circle. This is not the same like 270 - 30 which is a bit more than 25% of the circle. One quote from here: http://portfolio.krauselabs.net/evidence/11-5.pdf "Final attack heading. “Final attack heading X” or “Final attack heading x-x” where x are degrees magnetic or cardinal directions. Final attack heading is a restriction often used for gun or rocket runs which limits the attack heading on the target. This is often done to deconflict fires from the aircraft with nearby friendly ground troops or to keep the aircraft at distance from a nearby air threat. When it is given as a range, it is a cone or sector of fire that is acceptable." Quote taken from here: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3878388/JTAC_Final_Attack_Heading "JTACs/FAC(A)s assign attack headings for several reasons: to increase ground troop safety, aid in aircraft acquisition by the JTAC/FAC(A), aid aircrews in target acquisition, mitigate collateral damage, meet laser safety cone attack restrictions, and facilitate fire support coordination. Controllers may employ final attack headings/windows that allow aircrew to maneuver on either side of the attack heading. This gives aircrew more flexibility in prosecuting the target while maintaining the required degree of restriction on the aircraft heading. Attack headings/windows might be particularly useful when the attack aircraft are using coordinate dependent weapons, since it is possible the weapon final attack heading may significantly differ from the aircraft heading. Attack headings also allow RW aircraft to maneuver over terrain or urban sprawl to enhance delivery while remaining survivable. Aircrews and JTACs/FAC(A)s must understand that the attack headings may differ between both the aircraft and weapon. JTACs/FAC(A)s must weigh the advantages of issuing an attack heading with the disadvantages of restricting aircraft tactics. Final attack geometry provided as part of the CAS briefing in the form of headings or directions are by definition Restrictions and therefore must be readback." Edit: Sabre was faster :-) -
BFT (Basic Flight Training Qual) Mission How to go on?
Emuyen replied to rickberry49's topic in Problems and Bugs
Same here. Looking forward for more Maple Flag Campaigns. It's hard for sure. It's not to teach but to test. When I didn't understand what I was doing I read the manual or watched youtube tutorial vids. And... in Basic Quali you are a greenhorn and the simpathy has to be earned! In TTQ Instructor Saber has a hilarious mood (VIZIANI! GOOS JET READY TO TAXI. VIZIANI COLT 1-2 WHEELS UP. WOOOHOOO! ) Unless you shoot down the JTAC or leave the range without permission... then he gets angry (and for some traumatizing...) :pilotfly: -
TAC 11 - Uzi11 - frist engagement type 2 instead of type 3
Emuyen replied to Emuyen's topic in A-10C TTQ Campaign
Hey Axel, look closely at the briefing material and memorize the IP (ingress points). Before doing your attack run you should move to the ingress point. Example 1: IP Chevy is north of WP Bravo. From Chevy to the targets is no urban area in the flight path. Example 2: In PO12 the IP Banks is north of the bullseye at a river fork. No urban area. When attacking with guns try to fullfill the attack heading. So when it tells you attack heading 0-250, and your ingressing from west, you need to fly north of the reservoir and then attack heading east to south (Attention: it's a bit confusing. When you call IN you say from where your coming and not your attack heading. So you call "IN from south or northwest" but your attack heading is somewhere between 0 and 180). If you attack directly from IP Banks you may fly over the urban area hugging the water reservoir. Very, very good campaign to learn the A10! Edit: If you run out of vul time just check out an check again in. I use to set the clock in the cockpit to know how much time is left. -
TAC 11 - Uzi11 - frist engagement type 2 instead of type 3
Emuyen replied to Emuyen's topic in A-10C TTQ Campaign
I had the chance too to replay this PO. It's the release version of DCS. No Open Beta. I can't detect any laser with LSS on the first type 2 GBU-12 drop from Uzi 1-1. So I went with CCRP and self lasing. The rest worked perfectly. passed PO11 and 12. -
TAC 11 - Uzi11 - frist engagement type 2 instead of type 3
Emuyen replied to Emuyen's topic in A-10C TTQ Campaign
Thank you Sabre. I'll try again tomorrow (I hope). Maybee I zoomed in too much. Today, I thought that maybe I have forgotten zu put in the correct laser code too. Really learning much with your campaigns. Looking forward to apply evrything to the Red Flag Campaign. -
TAC 11 - Uzi11 - frist engagement type 2 instead of type 3
Emuyen replied to Emuyen's topic in A-10C TTQ Campaign
Thank you for the fast reply. On the first 3 attempts I used up the Vul Time trying to find the laser or looking for other targets. But the coordinates are clear and only one tank is there. So I restarted the mission. On the 4th try (yesterday) I did 2 inbounds trying to detect the laser with no luck. On the 3rd inbound i normally dropped CCRP. 5 seconds before drop the mighty Sabre instructor told me to check out, vul time is used up. I pickled anyway and got an angry "ABORT" right after GBU12 release. Then Uzi told me to gun down the APC northwest of the smoke mark. After that Colt 1-2 didn't told me to call Hammer 1-1. I called Hammer 1-1 anyway on TAD 61 and Hammer told me "no tasking available. So I terminated the mission. Next time I find time to fly I'll record the track. I'll also kill the tank with self lasing to see if I get that ABORT call again. Btw. I like how the radio calls improved from campaign to campaign. Off-topic: Are there more maple flag campaigns planned?
