  1. Amigo Spook, tenés tiempo de tomarte unos buenos tinticos hasta que salga: From Matt´s FAQs (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=67747): Q: When will the boxed DVD version of A-10C be available? A: This is subject to change, but by country: • US/Canada - July • Japan/South Korea (English) - May • Australia/Asia Pac (English) - May • Europe (English) - May • Germany (German) - July • France (French) - July • Spain (Spanish) - August • Italy (English Software) - August
  2. When your financial planning .xls starts to include a "just kidding" sheet, detailing "electricity, rent and pizza delivery" in the expense column, and "nothing" in the income column, with the only purpose of calculating exactly how many more months you need to work to reach the pòint when your savings will allow you to retire to play DCS until you inherit your parents. When you get sad when, after an initial encouraging result, you realize you also need to factor in computer upgrades.
  3. I´d suggest you post a track of your landings, but, if you´re ripping only your nosewheel, and assuming you're not landing on it first (:)), try to ease the lowering of the nose after touchdown. Also keep an eye on your vertical speed, you should not exceed 5 fpm and try to touch down at less than 3fpm. For your TO, I´d simply suggest not to pull the joystick all the way back, but half or 2/3rds, and also ease on it once you get the nose to start pitching up.
  4. All of that is great but the TRUE mother of all simulators is F-14 Tomcat for the C64. It featured training, pilot career, and carrier landings. YES!
  5. Night lighting is extraordinary, flood light won´t reach the front dashes... unless you close the canopy... due to lamps position...
  6. Thanks! But I think this applies to external tanks, I was only using internal.
  7. Considering ED is a UK based company, one should consider that since 2007 the Dollar has lost approx 20% of its value against the Pound. Considering the game is developed in Russia, one should consider that since 2008 the Dollar has lost approx 20% of its value against the Ruble. Russian inflation averages 10% per year since 2007. There´s your $60. Let me know if my data is incorrect, I took the numbers from the Web.
  8. I had a very funny test flight where I would enable crossfeed before TO, only fo find my engines turning themselves off randomly when pushed beyond 80% or so. Besides the thrill of experiencing for the first time an engine failure beyond V1, I was wondering WTH would crossfeed generate that behavior.
  9. The flight model is very very cool, the plane seems very responsive and not "smoothed out". If you see a video of the A-10 taxiing, you get the exact same feeling, it´s difficult to explain, but it´s awesome. The cockpit and systems, are so detailed you really feel you´re interacting with the real thing. Just look at all the HUD symbology, you feel you need a lot of study to understand everything. The sound, is extraordinary, nothing like I´ve experienced before in a flight sim. The engines reverberate in the cockpit... make a loop, cut the engines, and then spool them back up, and you *feel* them coming alive... again, never before seen (heard) in this market. The graphics are WIP and not optimized yet it appears, but the texture resolution and terrain resolution have been improved, and look much better than DCS:BS, imho. But the overall sense of being *in* and interacting *with* the real thing is really there, for me, light years apart from the Shark so universes apart from anything else.
  10. I´ve just purchased TIR5 without knowing they lacked 64 bit support. I'm a Customer and I demand my other 32 bits!
  11. Ok, it´s 2088. Found it buried in some lua file, leaving here for future reference.
  12. Hi, does anybody know what´s the id for the collective in order to input an analog value using LoSetCommand in export.lua? It´s not documented. Please help!
  13. Well ED have already stated they intend to implement DX11 in their next module, so you can start with your waiting exactly right now. I just hope you don´t mind if I have a lot of fun with the obsolete DCS:W in the meantime.
  14. Ooooooooh Marketing Pitches for f''cks sake! If you go ahead and read the fine print you´ll find that there are very serious issues in syncronizing what comes out of the GPU with what´s running on the CPU. It´s basically two computers in one. The sim is a realtime application. That, and DC is just starting to conceive the idea of the moment when it will be able to start using diapers. It´s not even clear if the API will not be completely revamped in DX11.1 or 12 for instance. Seriously guys, this things are far more complex than they appear, to implement, and far less magical and universal in what they can eventually provide, than what the marketing intern they assign to pitch them would lead you to believe. And I´m talking for an IT professional. If your area of expertise is, say, Gouda Cheese, you´ll be a much happier person if you refrain from even reading this stuff.
  15. I don´t know. Like I said, I´m not a fan of the way he approaches this, but I used it once in FC to beat the first mission, and it worked like a charm.
  16. Oh this is holy grail for an attack aircraft. Do you ever loose track of the target due to maneuvering? And! and! can we have multiple SPIs somehow stored in memory, so we can switch between them without having to re-acquire them?
  17. Here you go: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=GEN+1&version=CEV Now seriously, this guy has some great tactics for LOMAC´s A-10. Only in my opinion, his techniques exploit the unavoidable roboticness of the AI. http://flankertraining.com/ironhand/index.html But trial and error can be fun too... because apart from some general guidelines, it´s your ability to improvise quickly what will save you from that SAM...
  18. Being excessively purist, an MFCD/HUD is not a Sensor but a Display or more generically, an Interface. Since they are interfaces to the actual sensors, and they are interchangeable, their denomination as "Sensors" leads to confusion. I can live with that, hopefully, but was wondering if there was some concrete reason to call them "Sensors", considering this is the work of very smart people.
  19. We need Euphoria then! http://www.naturalmotion.com/euphoria.htm
  20. Ah you bastard, you made me cry. You also took the time to showcase the hard work Ed put into all the new effects, the Nevada Terrain... fantastic. And a little, humble and completely friendly criticism: I would love to see your videos become more story driven, as in adding epic'ness' through visual narrative as well as through music. Thanks!
  21. I'm sure that interest is not from the guy who signed the PO for the 'C' upgrade...
  22. Nono it´s "It should be pretty simple and absolutely transparent to the User" :megalol:
  23. And how would you rate the SU-25T in that regard????
  24. Chuck Norris has no need to master anything to be able to fly the Hog whenever he feels like. He will get up in the morning or whenever he feels like and be picked up by the Base Commander in a Limo, driven by the pilot of the Hog Chuck has decided to try. After humbling the Commander with HIS wartime stories, he will arrive to the base where the ground crew will pick him up and carry him on their shoulders until comfortably seated on the cockpit. He will be served hot coffe there, by the youngest daughter of the Chief Mechanic, while his plane is readied for him. It will take him the slightest of nods to get the engines to start themselves, and a stare will suffice to have the Hog taxi to the runway. Only at this moment He will get a grip of the controls, and holding them firmly he will whisper "Don´t. Spill my coffe.". He will then release the stick and the Hog will take off, perform never before seen aerobatics, reach Mach 4 at 5 mts AGL, find Osama and bring him to public trial, and land. He will leave the base on foot, carrying the GAU-8 on his shoulders, since it, as he appreciated, would look nice hanging over the fireplace. Jack Bauer wanted to participate in all this but got stuck in traffic. Maybe next time.
  25. Colombia - Venezuela and NW Brasil, the war for water and some other substances. Seriously, the scenery is magnificent combining the pacific, caribbean and the north Andes mountains. Conflict hypothesis can be very realistic, you can start with COIN operations on both sides and scale up to an all out war involving US and Russian hardware present in the sim. In the future you can extend the scenery to the south to include a Chile-Peru conflict fought on the sea and on 15K ft mountains, and even fight for the Amazonas. Great FARP posibilities, and if this comes along the new weather engine, there´s a humidity festival to be had on those skies. Also if F-16 is in the plans, this is the ideal scenario with various countries already operating the bird. The scenery is huge though, and satellite elevation maps lack quality (I checked!). But nothing is impossible for ED. Especially if one of the guys in the Moscow office gets to go on an "exploration mission" to the beaches, I mean, to the terrain there.
