Can someone post an updated link for CrazyEddie's Marine Corps skin for the YAK-40 please? Previous link no longer works. The Mod does work in the new update though!

Well since Marker isn't around or answering can anyone fix this skin? I also noticed that the insignia on the STBD side of the tail boom is upside down. It's a way cool skin, just need tweaked a little. ~S

Lemme ask this: what are the rules on this sort of thing? It's Skullz work, the readme says it was all Skulls work and I just compiled what I thought the best sounds were from all of his different Huey packs, I only gave myself credit for that. since it's Skullz mod, just repackaged as I saw it best, am I allowed to post a link for it? the last thing I want to do is get banned for something like this. Devs? Moderators? Can I get a ruling? ~Rob

I don't want to distribute it publicly without Skullz permission, even though the readme all says it was his work and I just complied it. Hope you understand. Spoiler alert - it's the cat's ass lol.....you'd love it!!

Is anyone able to get a hold of Skullz? I took sounds from a few of his Huey sounds packs and assembled a sort of "greatest hits" Huey sound mod. I was hoping to put it in his hands and see what he thought of it. So far it has continued to work through the last few updates to 1.5 series and 2.0 series, and it currently is in JSGME format.

I'd do a Skycrane. It doesn't have the versatility or cool factor of a -53, but it'd be cool to sling some armor around an AO. We talking an FC3 style bird with non clickable correct cockpit, or is this an importer cockpit/flight model deal?

I understand the jet is not quite in keeping with the times, but someone could have pumped out a G model WW for use as an FC3 plane and folks would have gone crazy over it. We haven't got a Western WW plane and won't until Hornet comes out, and I mean aside from modded AC of course. The G could still carry it's Sparrows and Sidewinders too!! My wish list is CH-53, Tomcat, some others.....but at the top is this plane. Please let our prayers be answered.....Help us RAZBAM and Heat Blur!!!! ~Rob

Ditto for Panzer. I've been following along recently and never really thought of the ramifications of the DLC and the WWII asset pack deal until this thread. It does seem like it doesn't jive with how it has been in DCS, pay for a plane or not you can still see it, still shoot at it, collide with it, etc....I don't understand why they wouldn't just leave it like that in the interest of keeping folks together. I've been playing IL2 1946 since 2003 and have seen every version of the game, modded and official, from almost the beginning. Over the years the different modsets available have fractured the community. I realize the biggest part of the loss of members is better games like DCS and the BO series of the new IL2's, but once people had to choose between the UP mods or the HSFX series of mods it began to split. You have people who only fly stock, you have people who only fly this series or that, etc....and now you get maybe 70 people across a dozen servers on a weekend where once you had well over 400 between the two main game versions. Here's the thing: that was all freeware. I really do hope they make this available in the same fashion planes have been for us. It absolutely keeps us together. Maybe just make it so that you have to buy it to move it instead of using CA, or do that and also make it so it can deploy LCAC's and do assaults if you buy it, something fun or extra, but leave it so folks can land on it, use the cats, crash into it or kill it!! I'm retired, I can afford all of the extra stuff, but some people scrape money together for months to buy a $60 module. Someone like that will buy a Tomcat or Hornet and not be able to enjoy it properly. That's my $.02!! ~Rob

You can look in the manual provided by BST. There is a secton on the AoA system and also starting on page 206 is some good info about speeds, like never get below 300KIA. I'm sure if you get your hands on a real manual it would have a chart like you are looking for.

Thanks Bosun! It's true, we do have half a dozen EU guys who join us during the week, occasionally for the Sunday ops, and most assuredly the ops that span a few days. Between then and our US /Canada crowd we roll up to around 15-20 squad mates on our long ops days, and the Sundays ops regularly bring 8-12. It doesn't seem like much until you are all jockying for take off and landing position....another reason why I stick with Huey lol, I never need the runway!! ~Rob

Sure was......long live the Jolly Green and Sandy crews!! Both the A and D models were in use, as well as the HH-53, and their large carry capacity was especially helpful during operation frequent wind, where carry lots of people was necessary.

I know from talking to someone hellespilot is in contact with regularly that he won't update the F-4 any more because every time ED puts out a patch it breaks his stuff; it sounded to me like he might have just gotten tired of trying to keep up. Maybe he's doing the same thing now with the Viper? ~S
