  1. ...or good 'photoshopping' :smilewink:
  2. No, you are not alone and Cobra is already looking into this: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=192501
  3. IRL there are other hose-drogue (i.e. basket) tankers such as A310, A330, KC-135. In DCS we currently have the S-3 and the Il-78.
  4. Hi all, is it correct that atm there are no differences between the attack profiles of AGM-84A, AGM-84C and AGM-84S for AI in DCS? I noticed that Australian F/A-18s carry the A model while USN Hornets carry the C version in DCS. According to Wikipedia the C version (Block 1B) should not do a terminal pop-up manoever while the A model (Block 1A) would. But I believe I have not seen that difference in DCS so far. Will that change with the introduction of the DCS F/A-18C? IIRC we will even get the D and H model with the Hornet. In that context, will there be general rework of how anti surface weapons work? Thanks! Christian
  5. Thanks for the update! Much appreciated!
  6. Nicholas, you and the other Heatblur team members are doing a great job. Don't take such harsh comments too serious, some people have no clue what it takes to develop such a piece of software which has to be embedded in a complex framework but they know how to write provocating posts... I'm sure the vast majority of the Viggen users are more than happy about the value that you and your fellows brought to the DCS world! The Swedish thunderbolt brought the anti surface warfare to DCS in an unprecedented way... next to many other special things! Keep up your great work! Cheers, Christian
  7. I'm glad you said this as I just had the impression the AI sound of the Hornets have changed, but I can't remember having read anything about it in the release notes. I do have a big SP mission with 24 hornets (and 8 Tornados) supporting my flight of 4 viggens in attacking the Kuznestov carrier and its supporting ships. After I fire my Rb-15Fs and turn back away from the carrier (on autopilot) I tend to watch the hornets through the F2 view. Recently I thought the hornet sound had changed and I found it to be much better than before. Glad to hear that my perception wasn't too far off...:megalol:
  8. That Hornet looks awesome, Steve! Great work!
  9. Hi there, I noticed a small but persistent bug. I have created a SP mission with 7 waypoints. All 7 are perfectly in the CK37 after loading the data cartridge (9099 method). My target is cloe to waypoint B4 so I make that a target point by setting the CK37 to TAKT and IN and then pressing 9 and the B4 button. The waypoint correctly changes from B4 to M4 in the cockpit indicator, all fine. However, the waypoint B2 has now also changed into a target waypoint and is displayed as M2 as well. All other waypoints (B1, B3, B5-B7) are still good. I have changed the mission a couple times now in the ME, including deleting waypoint 2 and inserting it again, but no change. Whenever I assign B4 as M4 the system changes B2 into M2 as well. It's not a big deal, I am just wondering if anybody else noticed something similar? Cheers, Christian
  10. Thanks, Nicholas! I am not worried at all. For the time being I am still practicing anti-ship warfare with the Viggen - a first for me in DCS. There actually is so much to learn, also apart from how to operate the Viggen and its weapons. Since - due to very limited time - I am solely doing SP, I am learning how to create demanding and complex missions with more or less realistic ship convoys and battle groups - which is also a great preparation for the Hornet :smilewink: Again, Nicholas, thank you for this Swedish beauty and your endless support here! Christian
  11. Hey John! Shoot me a PM once you are around! Maybe we can have a sausage together...I am a big fan of your superb tutorials :) Cheers, Christian
  12. Sorry for that - I've never uploaded pictures before... :no_sad: On my iOS devices (where I uploaded them from) they appeared correct. But using a browser on my PC they were upside down as well... I have edited and reloaded them - should be ok now
  13. I have no clue why the pics are upside down in the preview. When I open them the orientation is fine though...
  14. Hi Mi-8 community! Just wanted to share with you a unique location if you ever want to have a great burger or some sausages - grilled INSIDE a Mi-8 :):):) This special grill is just next to the airport of Zurich/Switzerland (Klotenerstrasse in Ruemlang if you want to know precisely). Close by used to be a very common grill which was famous with aviation enthusiasts for its great location very close to the Zurich airport runways (not so much for the quality of the food...). It was called "Heligrill" because it was located just next to numerous helipads. Due to construction work for a new apron, the site had to be "deconstructed" and relocated. But instead of just putting another "regular" grill, they came up with the beautiful idea to make it a "real" heli-grill! Actually, it is now run by a nearby restaurant (called "Runway 34") which not only raised the quality of the food A LOT but also gave the new location a very appropriate "outfit"! Btw: The restaurant "Runway 34" features a Mirage III as a door guard. The really cool thing: This Mi-8 airframe actually flew in Georgia for some time :-) Greetings from Switzerland, Christian *EDIT: Pictures reloaded*
  15. SP GroundCrew relocating without order Hi all, I understand the developers focus might be on the MP side. But is there any news (or at least a confirmation) regarding the issue of GroundCrew relocation after the first fuel stop in SP? I tested it a couple times now and the GroundCrew always relocates to my L1 point even though I asked them to stay where they are. I also cycled the corresponding setting from "stay" to "relocate" forth and back a couple times but regardless what I do, they always begin to move after the refuelling/rearming is completed. Last time the tanker vehicle even drove into me which effectively destroyed my Viggen....not soooo helpful :(
  16. cool stuff! 3D printer + know how in electronics + enthusiasm = great set for cockpit builder:thumbup:
  17. same here I have had the same issue as well today. Refuelling and rearming worked fine using the kneeboard page. I picked my loadout (2xRb24 and 2xRb15) using LCtrl+LAlt+L, kept the other two settings at default (fuel: 100%, relocation: stay where you are) and confirmed with LCtrl+LAlt+Enter. All good. When I landed for the second time at the FARP, the GroundCrew group was gone. I checked on the F10 map and saw they were a few clicks away still on the same piece of road. So I decided to start a little chase (...weird, I know, but I wanted to try sth out...). Once I was approaching the rolling vehicles, I called up the kneeboard page again which told me "too far away from ground crew". But as soon as I got a bit closer that changed and I was able to do the usual selections. And then the ground crew started to refuel me - while we were both rolling on the highway  Quite funny, but actually I would have preferred the ground crew to stay where it was when that was what I asked them to do. Otherwise a really cool feature!
  18. Great stuff! Thanks funkyfranky. In fact, this is the very first mod I've ever used ;-) I just use it for the buttons BX, LS and L/MÅL which nicely complement all other B1-9 and 0-9 buttons mapped to my Cougar MFDs. Setting up the Bx waypoints for the Rb-15 goes much easier now, no mouse needed at all - just what i need! Again, thank you funkyfranky!
  19. The only stupid question is the one you don't ask ;-) The LUAs are straight for the simulation. I beliebe you can actually forget about the TARGET software for DCS with all these mods around. I used to use it only in conjunction with other simulations (mainly FSX).
  20. Thanks RagnarDa for your instant and helpful reply! I noticed your tireless support in this forum, really very much appreciated. In fact you add quite some value to the already outstanding product! Happy hunting!
  21. Hi all, following the latest update for 1.5.6 (THANK YOU!) I finally can have my wingmen firing Rb-15Fs (AI variant of course). I tried it out last night and had 3 wingmen successfully launching Rb-15Fs on the targets. Flying back home on Autopilot I watched the missiles (F6 view) running in on the targets - and I was quite surprised what I saw! I was used to the attack profile of "my" missiles which fly towards Bx6, descend to 8-10m above sea level, flying straight to Bx7, turn towards Bx8 and the do some final turn close before impact. But from Bx6 till impact the missile remains at sea skimming altitude. The AI versions of the Rb-15Fs fired by my wingmen did als fly nicely towards the target, but unlike my missile, they climb shortly before the target (sort of a pop-up) and try to impact from above. Very much like a Harpoon does. Unfortunately, all AI missiles were taken down by missiles from a destroyer. In fact I believe the destroyer engaged them with SAMs just after they started the pop up. Is this normal and intended? Is there something we can do to alter the attack profile of the AI missiles? Actually, it doesnt really bother me too much, in fact it brings in an interesting complexity into the attack run. But sometimes it might be more effective to have all missiles flying the same or at least similar pattern. P.S. I just love this Swedish beast! Thank you folks for this extraordinary machine with its extraordinary capabilities. I never thought I would like anti ship warfare from the air...:smilewink: Cheers
  22. Hi 2-niner, I believe I understand what you are asking for but to my knowledge there is no axis mapping aft of the rear detent, it is a switch position instead. There is no sensor measuring the exact throttle position between the rear detent and the rear stop. Cheers, Hog No32
  23. thx grunf Thank you grunf for your detailed and very helpful explanation of the radios! Great contribution! I am still in my early days on the Viggen and I do SP only. I have now (more or less...) mastered the basics in flying, navigating, radar usage and I just began learning how to employ the Rb-04E and Rb-15F effectively. For my training the target usually consists of 2 or 3 tankers protected by a frigate and a destroyer (with 'Average' skills per ME btw). I now learned that in most of my solitary attack runs one or both missiles are shot down by the warships. Hence, I tried to engage them together with a wingman so we have 4 missiles running in. But I did not manage to communicate with him...until now! Thanks again mate.
  24. Are Kashmir and me the only ones suffering from this issue? That would surprise me a lot..,
  25. same problem here Kashmir, I am sure you don't do anything wrong, this really appears to be a bug. I do use the exact same equipment like you do (TM Warthog, Saitek Rudders, TrackIr) and I am having the exact same issue. But, I have it the A-10C as well as with the M2000C. It appears all input devices freeze for 4-5 seconds (incl. keyboard).... a horrific long time when operating close to the mud! I crashed either plane niw a couple times just because of this bug. IIRC, in a previous update/bugfix I read in the Release Notes/Change Log that a bug like was fixed - but I still experience it with the very latest version. Greetings, C
