  1. Well, I'm sure all the good answers are already taken, and bringing kids and grand-kids into the reasoning...I don't stand a chance (I have twin girls, and they're all grown up). So I'll tell a joke. Grasshopper walks into a bar. The bartender says, "Hey man! Did you know there's a drink named after you?" The Grasshopper responds: "There's a drink named Bob?"
  2. Upon further playing, he'll take off if I ask for a mission before we taxi to the runway. If I try to free-flight or Recon, he taxis at full afterburner till he hit's something. No waypoints, maybe?
  3. Great mission...except my wingman never pulls back on the stick! :) He just taxis off the runway in Zone 5 and plows into the ground. Do I need to run this as an MP mission?
  4. When trying to create new Templates (for the Generator), changing the name of the template causes the field to go blank and does not save it. Also, adding or changing available Nodes does not save, either. Selecting or de-selecting which templates to use for existing nodes also does not save. Version 1.5.3.52875.76

  8. Not a big issue, but it resets to defaults after a re-start. Seems a big buggy...a couple of CTDs here and there, too, when you click "Generate". Maybe related to missing airfields?
  9. I'm hoping that with 1.5 now out, it might inspire some budding mission design artist to start a Dynamic Campaign. :D (not me, I've tried coding...can't do it) We've got all these great new Aircraft coming, but not much to do with them (if you're a SP guy).

  11. I was trying to fly an aircraft that I have, and I had just flown a quick mission with it. However, I don't own ALL of the avaliable planes that have slots. Would that cause issues? I recently reinstalled DCS, but it's the Beta...
  12. Sounds cool! But when I load the mission (SP), I get graphic anomalies, and I'm unable see anything but random polygons, and I can't read the menus. I'm just putting the MIZ file in the missions folder and starting it. Am I doing something wrong?

  14. VERY cool! I don't have the MiG-21, but definite possibilities here. If this was released with the other modules as flyables, I would assuredly pay for this campaign! Just a suggestion... :)

  16. I'm "modding" my DCS to reflect more of a mid '80s era, and was wondering what I need to exclude from any missions. I know some of the obvious ones: AIM-120s, A-10C, Su-25T, Su-33, Mig-29C, F-15E.... What about SAMs and Ground Forces? I'm not as familar with the time period. I was in high school in the 80's and constantly poured over military aviation books...so I'm familiar with aviation.. :) But armor? Not so much. Any obvious units that would not be present? Thanks for any info... -Steve

  18. I'm hoping someone smarter than me can do exactly just that (the 3rd party dynamic campaign that is). It's pretty powerful, but limited at the same time. I can create templates that allow for A2A only...at any distance I want (by creating new nodes), or I can create a huge freakin' tank battle with no fighters in sight. BUT, I can't have anything too complex like specific escorts for CAS flights, or tankers (although that may be doable...I got the E-3 to show up doing AWACS). By limiting the templates used by these new nodes, one could theoretically create a campaign...maybe. Again, that would require someone with much more skill than I at LUA scripting.
  19. Ok, I've gotten a whole buncha new aircraft to show up. Mig-21s, Mig-23s, F-4Es, F-15Cs...I nice selection of targets now. :) I'm trying to recreate an 80's era scenario. I've changed loadouts to reflect that (no AMRAAMS or R-77s). Now, does anyone know if I can ADD new mission types? Strike for instance? I'd like to add some Bears and B-52s, but I don't want them running CAS missions. I also realize I'm probably the only person who does SP in DCS anymore, but what the hell. I figure someone out there might find this info useful... :)
  20. Does anyone still use the Generator for missions? I've been messing with the templates, and I'd like to add the Mig-21 and maybe a few others to the mix. Anyone know the steps? I can add already existing Aircraft (like the Mig-31) because they have a loadout already defined, but I don't see one for the Mig-21. I'm also trying to create a quick way to generate A2A missions. But only a few of the "Defensive" templates have fighter groups defined. Any quick way to add them using LUA files instead of having to do it all through the template editor? Basically I'd just like to have a "Random" enemy fighter show up more often.

  24. Well, I've already set my TrackIR like he suggests...I think...it's been awhile since I took French. :)
  25. The HUD in the F-15C is zoomed in way too far, and not centered. I use TrackIR, and centering it does not help. I've repaired my installation, and I still have issues. The Su-27 is also zoomed in (although not as much), and I can't read the Altitude/Airspeed numbers. I'm guessing this is a server.lua issue, but I'll be damned if I can find out what it is. I'm not running any mods any more (at least I can't find any). Any suggestions? I can produce screenshots if you want.
