Can the AI take off from the Tarawa with this Mod? No matter how I start (hot, cold, runway), the AI either never takes off, or rams into me. Or am I confused as to what this mod does.

I've never installed GeForce Experience, and I've got the problem. I really think that Oculus Update a month go hosed something.

In regards to performance/Developments
tn_prvteye replied to TexasWarbird's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I concur. I'm running VR, and there's been a reduction of performance there, too (since VR is such a hog, that's not surprising). I won't be buying any more modules until it reaches a better state. I REALLY want the PG and the Tomcat, but I shudder to think how they'd run. :( Still, I remain hopeful. -
Brighter HUD? (yes I know about the key command)
tn_prvteye replied to tn_prvteye's topic in MiG-29 for DCS World
Yeah, the filter actually seems to be LIGHTER than than regular HUD Display. If anything. I wonder what the file is...maybe I can darken it. -
Even at full brightness, I can't read a damn thing...still too dark (I'm in VR as well). Is there anything I can mod to get it brighter? Changing colors helps, but you can't change the color in the real thing and it feels like cheating. Certainly the real aircraft isn't this dim. Maybe a way to Darken the HUD glass to get better contrast? I'm open to anything. And yes, I know about the repeater. I should be able to read the HUD flying at 10AM in the morning on a clear day. Just seems wrong right now.

Cool, thanks for filling a gap in my knowledge, gents!

I have no idea why I don't know this. I've studied Modern Combat Aircraft for over 40 years, and I have no idea if this is a real thing. I know you can do it in Sims, but I guess I always thought it was for gaming reasons. So can you actually change the HUD color on real aircraft? Only some? Russian/American/European? Or is this a concession to PC limitations? I'm ashamed I have to ask this at my age.

 I'd like to know, too. The damn Oculus BS software has to be running now, and eats memory. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

I do to. I used OTT for the longest time, but then it stopped working. So I had to manually disable ASW every time I started DCS with the Oculus Debug Tool. But now, now matter how I start, what ASW settings I use, the double-vision/judder shows up (ASW lessens it, but the artifcating is terrible). And it wasn't there only a few weeks ago. Again, is it an Oculus thing/ And ED thing? My Hardware's the same, but something has changed and it's driving me mad. I was hoping to try the PG this weekend, but I'm staying away from DCS until I can sort this out.
-
Still getting it. What happened? Did Oculus push out an update the broke something? Did ED? It's driving me crazy now. No settings in ASW work very well. I get that I have an older rig, but it wasn't doing this before...all of a sudden a few weeks ago it shows up.
-
OTT has been what I use to manage ASW. I've got it set up to run disabled right now. I tested the ASW-45-OFF, but I still got double-vision. Are you saying to set it to this, and then set it to disabled? No matter what I tried (Off, Auto, 45On, 45Off) I was getting the issue.
-
I'm starting to see this, as well. ASW helps a bit, but messes with the HUD. I don't have a top-of-the-line PC anymore, but it only started to do this. Tried different Nvidia drivers to no avail. My Rift seems to tun fine in IL-2:BOS...no issues there. I'll be shelving DCS until I can either upgrade, or this gets optimized. :( For reference: Ge1060GTX, i7-3770K @ 4.0, 16GB RAM, SSD...and yes, it's not a monster, but up until a week ago this wasn't happening. Happens over the Caucasus with both old (FC3) and new (F-18) modules.

Nope still got a CTD. Back to testing. Got a CTD from a "fast mission"...while the LOG report was generating, I got a BSOD with a Kernal Security Check Failure WIN10 error code. Looks like I'm in for a long night...<sigh> dcs.log-20180919-012419.zip

It likes not all the files from the Shader Mod may have been removed. Which is odd since I use JSGME...and I removed it using that. I'll see if that was the problem.
-
Well if the patch has killed my missions using this script, I might be done with DCS. There's no way I'm doing all that over again. However, usually with scripting errors it won't CTD...just give me the Pop-up Box error. For the graphics card driver, I'm running the latest Official releases...it's kinda hard to screw up installing those. I do a clean install every time I update. Maybe I'll try an earlier version. Thanks for the info.

Okay, I disabled the shaders mod, repaired, and deleted the FXO and metashaders folders, and still getting a CTD. I attached what I could find on the crash. dcs.20180918-215111.zip

VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
tn_prvteye replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Thanks for letting me know. I was going crazy. Guess we'll wait to hear from Kegetys. -
Seems to be the Shader issue. Disregard.

VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
tn_prvteye replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Anyone else getting crashes with the latest OB Hot-Fix? Not sure if it's Shaders Mod or not...haven't had time to test much yet. -
I don't have a log to post right now, but I was just seeing if anyone's seen this with the latest OB hot-fix. Can't pin down any rhyme or reason for it. Usually happens within 5 minutes of a mission start. Running a few mods...the USN Deck mod and the Shaders mod (I'm guessing this is the culprit). Just wanted to know if anyone else is having the same problem, or if I've screwed something up (highly likely). I'll test with with the Shaders mod disabled when I get home from work.

Real time weather (METAR) on your server missions HOW TO
tn_prvteye replied to Johnny_Rico's topic in Multiplayer
I got a message from Johnny_Rico (he's deep behind enemy lines and can't respond right now ;)). Quote: " Hi folks, the latest couple of patches have introduced a bug when saving out mission files. The issue is to do with if the mission you are editing is older (been editing it for a while), it seems to strip out one of the lines used for controlling fog) Brand new missions created in the editor appear to be un effected .... but unsure if it will stay the same going forward. I am trying to work out how to fix this, will try to get it doe ASAP, as we rely upon this ourselves Johnny " __________________ METAR weather for DCS World missions Havoc Company Dedicated server info Connect IP: 94.23.215.203 SRS enabled - freqs - Main = 243, A2A = 244, A2G = 245 Please PM me if you have any server feedback/issues -
Real time weather (METAR) on your server missions HOW TO
tn_prvteye replied to Johnny_Rico's topic in Multiplayer
Well, at least I'm not going crazy. Maybe the 'mission' file permissions have changed or something. Encoding? Attributes? No idea. But the files themselves don't look any different in a text editor (aside from the time and weather changes, of course). -
I'm working on a Hornet model, and I've got a question about the color of the nose. It used to be the nose was "Radome Tan". But I've seem some skins and pics that make it look almost white...or a very light gray. Is this the color that's actually used now, or is that just the Radome Tan getting bleached and faded by weathering? I'm asking about the USN Hornets, BTW. I'm painting the current Dark Ghost Gray over Light Ghost Gray scheme, not the early Light Ghost gray over Light Gray...those obviously did have the tan nose.
