Nevada Las Vegas - Huey Ambulance Duty
tn_prvteye replied to NoFear1979's topic in User Created Missions General
Cool stuff. I love the Civilian missions for the Huey. Nice change of pace from getting shot at. -
External Campaign Generator - JDCG

You may want to talk to this gentleman: https://hq4dcs.com/ He's got the MIZ generation part working great! -
Hmmmm...those ideas are worth a shot! Thanks!

I've searched here in the forum and used the Googler, but can't seem to find an answer. Is there a way to make an AI fight you when it has no ammo? I'm trying to create an Aggressor enemy that won't actually fire missiles or guns at you, but will still fight like hell. I've tried setting the "RTB on no ammo" option to "no weapon", but that doesn't seem to work. It feels weird actually shooting down F-5Es. Right now, I've given them 10% guns ammo, and set the player to immortal. Again...doesn't feel like training when there are shells whizzing past your canopy. Eventually, I'll set up a trigger to allow the player to "Knock it of" with a Radio call (telling the Aggressor to RTB). I'm hoping someone else has already looked into this, as I'm not the sharpest knife in the chandelier.

Well, that's one way to improve FPS.

I can't remember, is there a reason Player flights can't do "Intercept"? Seems that'd be the obvious choice for Tomcat's. :D

I think my Jester doesn't like me. He hasn't said anything non-mission related to me. No snark, no commentary. Did I get Boring Jester by mistake?
-
Looks like some awesome changes are in store for the generator. You can choose your role now, and if you choose 'intercept' you get options for distance and altitude. Cool stuff. Not really working yet, but glad to see it's coming. Now if we could set default coalitions by map. :D Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

<whichever drive you installed to>\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\F14\Sounds\Walkman Need to rename them to song1, song2, etc.

I got it to work. Maybe I wasn't holding the trigger long enough? Need to hold it for like 3 seconds (which seems alot longer than it is).

Playing as pilot only, how do I use the AIM-54 and AWG-9's multiple target track and fire? It seems that the targets are getting assigned a number, but I can't fire (this was within 40nm or so). I have to go STT to fire and can't "ripple" the Phoenix that way. Am I missing a step? Is there something else I need to ask Jester to do? Besides that, I'm totally loving the module...I have the Flu and should be resting. Yet here I am. :D

When I first read the news, I thought: "Who the hell is Ed Miles? New programmer?" :D

Change voice for particular country?
tn_prvteye posted a topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Is there any way to change the voices (wingmen and player specifically) so that only a certain Country is changed? In other words, I'd like to fly the Spitfire with one of the RAF Voice packs when I'm flying for the UK, but don't want the voices to change for all the other English speaking nations. So far, my searching says this isn't currently possible. -
Dynamically generated units don't show up as kills...it's an old bug. :( You'll have to make do with the personal satisfaction of knowing you made the kill. :D

Yet another "What should I upgrade" question
tn_prvteye replied to tn_prvteye's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It looks like this is all just an academic exercise, now. I've got to have surgery, so all my upgrade money is now going to that. I REALLY hate being an adult. Thanks for all the information guys...really good info I didn't know before. -
I wonder if any more detailed info will be forthcoming. Anyone have any more info? "Virtual Reality Update We see VR as an amazing tool to enjoy DCS World and the future of PC gaming for many. To make DCS World even better, we’ve been working on some great VR improvements that include: -Optimized VR performance." ????

Yet another "What should I upgrade" question

Damn, that still makes me nervous! :) I'll see what a new cooler can do before I go that route. -
Yet another "What should I upgrade" question
tn_prvteye replied to tn_prvteye's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Never delided <is that word?> before. Don't trust myself to not screw something up. I think I'll just go cheap and get a better Cooler and try O/Cing a bit more. Maybe add another 16gb RAM for the hell of it. New GPU is out of the question, sadly. Way too expensive. It also occurs to me that DCS is the only Sim/Game that I'm having an issue with. IL-2BOS, Elite Dangerous...all my other VR games run smooth. So, I really should keep the wallet closed for now. <sigh> I hate adulting and being responsible about money. Thanks for the tips, gents. Actually very helpful. -
Yet another "What should I upgrade" question
tn_prvteye replied to tn_prvteye's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have, but the temps start to soar...using air only, with a fairly decent Fan set up, but it still gets too toasty. The chip IS almost 6 years old now. And yes, the Shaders Mod is a godsend. -
Yet another "What should I upgrade" question
tn_prvteye replied to tn_prvteye's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I just got a new Vid Card 6 months ago...should sprung for a bit more. :D Thanks for the help! So, no offers on the kidney, anyone? Liver's shot, though. -
Current Specs: i7-3770K @ 4.2, GTX1060 6GB VRAM, 16 GB RAM, SSD drive, and running an Oculus Rift. Looking at spending some cash on a new i7-8700K (with new MOBO and RAM obviously)....BUT I'm wondering if it'll be worth it. Getting OK FPS now (medium-ish settings), but still not as smooth as I'd like. Will I get only a small bump in performance, or will I be flabbergasted by the difference? The new setup won't be cheap, and I REALLY shouldn't be spending more money...but I'm tempted by the thought of a smoother VR experience in DCS. Anyone need a kidney?

Gotcha. I'll give this try! Thanks!
