  1. Thanks! Did you try to reboot after you made the exclusions? I've seen reports that the exclusions in Defender might not kick in until a reboot. Checked the update log. Can you check if the file is in the _download folder, and if it may have a size of 0 Bytes? If yes, try to delete it and repair/update again.
  2. Mild correction. You add exclusions to your Anti-Virus solution, you don't disable your Anti-Virus solution. Many of them uses the same database, works the same. That's why. And this is not new. Not how it works. Yes! 100% The file will be whitelisted in a couple of weeks, even if someone claims it already is in Defender. Again, not how it works. It's not even HB. It's the encryption Eagle Dynamics uses that triggers the AV, not the code in any of the files. How many times do you expect them to answer? Or should we answer for them? Or, you could scroll up and read for yourself. I take it you never used OpenBeta?
  3. Well, from ED's point of view, it's not a bug. They fixed bugs and changed the underlying structure those mods depended on. Roger! Pretty much the whole premise for @plott1964's wish. So the mod creators can fix their mods, or make users aware of the consequences of updating to a new DCS version. We can't depend on ED for this, and it might happen more often than not in the future. Exactly, ED can't possibly NOT update their system just to keep users of abandoned mods happy. Agree? Did you rate the thread and gave the post a like? Hopefully people can join the discussion with even better ideas. Cheers!

  5. Have you had a look into the input folder to see if the diff files are still there? Maybe Windows changed all the GUIDs for your peripherals and the files are still there. If they are, it's easy to fix it. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  6. Yeah, you change the presets. Just be absolutely sure. Do actually switch the switched in the middle console from from frequency to preset? I had no issues last fall, and don't have my computer here, so I can't test or show the the exact switch in referring to. I know you said you did, while not in your last answer. I'm asking about the mission, because there was one that wouldn't get passed startup, but I finished it anyway. You don't get a written answer, because you have failed to send the transmission, which implays the radio is not setup correctly. Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  7. Thanks! [emoji1303] I would just like it to be region and surface appropriate. Like desert versus grass. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  8. Can we please skip the unrealistic dust effects where helicopters blow dust anywhere? I love the new dust effects, but they should be limited to where they can actually occur. Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  9. I only ask because I frequently forgot to switch to presets in that campaign! [emoji1] Edit: Which mission is this? Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  10. Did you use the frequency or the presets? And if you used presets, did you remember to change the switch on the console? Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  11. Default DCS effects. F/A-18C, it's like a regular sprung stick while the more deflection, the more force required. No other effects. Spit, the force required to move stick depends on the simulated airflow over the control surfaces, though I haven't ever really flown the spit, so there might be some lock up of control surfaces I'm not aware of. No other effects. Huey, turns completely limp when pressing trim or disabling force trim. No other effects. To have other effects, use the accompanying software that uses telemetry. Cheers!
  12. So cancer has come to computers now? cancer!
  13. The problem wasn't really that the mods were unflyable. More that mods crashes DCS or make things invisible. Your post link loops back to this thread. In a perfect world... If we only knew what never hits the changelog. You might remember some years back, whenever you landed the ATC would ask you to park while the radio menu automatically popped up, an drove users crazy as the mouse cursor "stopped working". That was changed years ago, can't remember ever seeing it in the changelog. Do you know what those two "arrows" <> below the kneeboard are for? You can rearrange the the pages with them. Also I feature I can't seem to have read about. Now imagine all the changes that goes unnoticed. Please follow the link I provided above so you can endorse the idea to make life easier on all of us! Cheers!
  14. @BoomBoom Have you actually excluded the DCS folders in your Anti-Virus solution? If you have, and it still complains, you could just have deleted the _download folder and performed a full repair. Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  15. I have really high hopes! My system is ancient, and Syria runs as good as the Caucasus even with all settings maxed out and even beyond with tweaks! [emoji1] Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  16. Hey buddy! [emoji482] Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  17. @Bagpipe Hi, could you post a screenshot of your exclusions in Defender? Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  18. Why do you come here to be so negative? Like I wrote, SP dwarfs MP. Read the room. No map has gotten this traction in the forum ever, so yes! It's gonna be epic! [emoji1] You are free to skip it. [emoji6] Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  19. Sure, but what will happen when the computer scans and find the offending files again, IF you haven't excluded the DCS folders? [emoji848] [emoji6] Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  20. Depends. Then you need to wait until the false positives are whitelisted.
  21. @Fireman1979 Hi Eric! You're Anti-Virus solution snagged important files and put them in quarantine. Add your Steamapps folder to your Anti-Virus solution, and perform a file verification in Steam of DCS. Then everything should be back to normal. Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  22. And you know this how when it's only water? Afghanistan expanded down south, though I don't remember the distance. The textures were kept at lowrez. The "size" obviously didn't matter.
  23. Uninstall mods, also from Saved Games. There are numerous reports of mods messing with DCS since the last patch. Also perform a full repair to see if it helps. Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  24. There is a read.me? Well, it took me two years to learn that DCS actually has manuals, so this was pretty quick! [emoji1] Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  25. Like Flappie wrote. Make exclusions, and then perform a repair after. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
