Rotors Running - Refuel/Rearm - it's possible!
Slayer replied to Zorrin's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Thought I read somewhere too if the intercom wasn't available you could also open the cockpit door. -
Nope , doesn't have to be the same acording to nvidia. You will suffer a small performance hit though but it should be acceptable, especially for the additional utility of the abris on a seperate screen. Just make sure you have enough power available to do it or your system will not be stable. My guess is that you need between a 750-850 watt PSU depending on the quality of it.. Did you try the newest 180 series drivers?? They are supposed to work much better with this?

I run on Vista Ultimate x64, pretty much no probs. You do benefit somewhat from SLI if you run higher rez and like AA and AF. Probably not worth it if you play a lot of LOMAC and BS but its amazing for other games. If you dont have a 22"+ screen or do not intend on multiple displays just go single card. 2-280's blow away any ATI product, even 2 of their dual chip cards...with the new Intel boards its your choice Crossfire or SLI but be careful Nvidia only liscensed it for certain boards so even if certain motherboards have the slots they may not be compatible. DO your homework. For your memory the new i7 boards utilise 3 chanel DDR 3 that means 2 pairs of 3. So even though you may not need 6 gigs it's the best route to go performance wise. 3 gigs is just a little to low for 64 bit Vista and if your going to only use 3 gigs then just go with 32 bit. Also do not skimp on the power supply there is a utility on the Nvidia website in the SLI section to help you select the proper one. I can't stress this enough.

Level of Detail is amazing..Tank projectiles..
Slayer replied to McDaniel's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Yeah also watch the vehicles with tow missiles, they try to guide them onto you when you are hovering...5 of them fired at me in the second stock mission. They dont steer good at all so if you have any lateral movement whatsoever they cant hit you. I didnt notice this until I was watching the track replay lol. I guess it's just not a good idea to hover over the battlefield out in front of anything for long lol. Anything will take a potshot at you. -
If you play in arcade mode then it will not work because you are using the arcade settings, seems like lots of people are getting confused about this. Under the gameplay tab in the options, there are 2 buttons on the bottom 1 for simulation 1 for arcade. Whichever one you click will put the game into that mode for everthing like instant action and missions. In multiplayer this is set by the server. There are also 2 completely seperate control configurations 1 for arcade 1 for KA-50 Real. You need to setup controls for both if you want to use both. If your using the SD6 to program keys based on the defaults then I recomend to clear out all the predefined settings, only use the predefined axis settings.

You have to watch out how you program your control. Under certain things you can accidentally make your control nonstop send keyboard to the game and get very high CPU usage or cause it to stop responding. This happens if you program a keypress to a Mode or shiftstate because when you program to that, unless you make it a macro, it will send the key nonstop. Send me your file or post it here and I'll take a look at it for you.

game and real mode have different control configurations, the dropdown in the upper left corner of the control you pick KA-50 Real or KA-50 Arcade. You must configure your controls for both of those...axis and all. arcade mode is way diff thats why theres 2 sets of control options.

Cat is correct, you cant assign the brightness knobs to an axis but I did get them to work on X52 pro by changing the mousewheel to bands then assign the keyboard equivelant keypress to mousewheel up and mousewheel down in the saitek software. I use the mouse wheel to adjust the target gate size for the shkval and it works great. You can do the same for HUD brightness or TV brightness. No fancy hardware required. :) It would be nice if they would patch the game to allow axis to be used for that purpose though, since the Blackshark doesn't trim like a conventional aircraft the extra trim wheels on the throttle are unused.

Looks like something went wrong with installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 redistributable or theres a program that uses it that is messed up. Try going here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9b2da534-3e03-4391-8a4d-074b9f2bc1bf&displaylang=en Get that and install it and see if it fixes it. Seems like ATI video drivers had to have the newest version of that or .NET to work right....cant remember for sure since I havent had ATI graphics card for 2 years.

Here is the profile I use now. It is a early version. I'm still figuring out the Autopilot and datalink so theres really nothing in there for it. I use a TrackIR so there are no buttons maped for viewing, but I have included about 90% of the functions of the game so all you have to do is pick from the list and change it to what you want. At some point I'm going to finish adding every command based on the default keys. Also this version is fixed and uses the right shift key in the commands so there is no need to edit your in game config for commands that use right shifted modifiers. I changed my TrackIR to shift+F12 and shift+F9 so there is no conflict with the sim. http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=23120&d=1230603986

Not sure if a 9700 Pro can run this. Haven't looked too hard at min system requirements for this game though. How much graphics memory does that card have? The reason you see ???? is because you dont have Russian language pack installed (symbols) go to windows update and install the Russian language pack.

I read somewhere to turn off the AP channels(cant remember the exact ones) for landing... try that

Sounds like some kind of USB or power management issue or a driver issue (hence it works under 1 OS and not the other). You didn't say what motherboard you have....the first thing I'd do is see if there are any updated chipset drivers. Seems like I saw a post similar to this before on the Saitek forums. Heres a few things they suggested: Try moving to a different USB port. Try going into your control panel>device manager then look for your USB HUB (there may be several) on the list of hardware, right click it, pick properties Theres 2 tabs to look at here 1 is the power, it will tell you how much power each device is using and how much power is available per port. If you are exceeding it then you need to try a different port on a differnt HUB (if you can) The other tab to look at is the Power management tab. You want to make sure that the to UNCHECK the checkbox for "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" Do this for all your hubs. Also somewhere on the saitek forum there is a utility or instructions on how to fully remove the driver. They have recomended to install new drivers over the top of the old ones, it will upgrade them properly and it's known to cause problems if you uninstall the old drivers then try to install the new ones. XP64 is pretty much abandonware at this point. Driver support is poor because it was not a popular OS and very few adopted it. I tested it a while ago and had many driver issues that were never resolved. I've since moved on to Vista x64 and never looked back.

Its the exact same problem I had, scroll back 2 posts and grab the zipfile, whenever your MFD stops working just double click the file inside, It will stop/start the MFD display service. Deleting the text of Saitek Rulez doesnt fix it. Another poster also said just roll the left black scroll wheel a click and it will bring you to right back to the display page for your profile when it says "Saitek Rulez". Also if you haven't figured this out yet...for some reason the way the key commands are shown in the game options are "backwards"- meaning if it says A+LALT+LSHIFT in your SD6 software you have to input it as LSHIFT+LALT+A

I have been VERY frustrated trying to create a profile for DCS:BS the problem being that in the last released SD6 software the Right shift key could not be mapped. when ever you tried to program it the recorder would ignore this key. It's been a known software bug for a while.... BS uses so many commands that use right shift....It would be a pain in the ... to remap them all. I was browsing files on their FTP to see if there was an updated SD6 for the X52pro...there wasn't....but then I noticed that all the newer controlers that used SD6 had the exact same file size... I downloaded the 64 bit one for the P3200 pad and installed it. It installed without a hitch. The SD6 is the same software for all controllers. They fixed the Right Shift key bug now YAY, tested my profile after fixing all the commands that needed right shift and tested to be working! The new software version is 6.5.6.7

Are your cords plugged in tight? I sometimes get things like that if I accidentally bump that PS2 cord loose a bit. Also did you try that newinput.dll fix yet?

I figured it out, you can find the fix here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=578872&posted=1#post578872

FIXED Your hint about the "Saitek Rulez" thing clued me in to a bug with the DIrectOutputService.exe The developers are using that service to send a message to the MFD but sometimes the service quits working and must be restarted for it to work properly. This same thing happened to many users with the plugin for FSX. The fix is: 1) Start task manager(CTRL+ALT+DEL), go to the services tab then find SaiDOutput service, right click it,stop it, then right click it again and restart it. 2) Now when you go into the game you will get the SAITEK RULEZ message and you roll the left black wheel on the bottom of the throttle a click up or down ( per the previous post) OR Heres a batch file to stop/restart it for you You have to restart the service whenever you get the blank MFD. It was a bug in the Directoutput development kit.

If I load any profile it shows up just fine on the X52 throttle display. It is still displaying when I'm in the game at the initial load screen. The second the game loads in to the cockpit though, the MFD goes blank, clearing the profile. If I exit the game back to the loading screen the profile reappears. I've tried unloading and reloading while in game but nothing works. I tried the scroll wheel thing on the other post but it doesnt fix it. Another guy is having the same problem, but he never recieved a reply. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=33853&highlight=X52+blank Up until this point I was using the game controls section and hadn't used the saitek software so I didnt notice. I have reset the controls to defaults in the game and I have installed the newinput.dll

The damage modeling in this sim is amazing to say the least :)

You think the maintenance man can fix her?
-
I think you can open the exe with visual C++ and set the affinity flags? Been a while since I meddled in programing...maybee someone with more expertise in this field can confirm or deny it? Anyways, they will probably patch this in the english release....

I finally broke down and purchased TIR4 PRO also, very happy with the investment. It has given a refreshing outlook on Arma, FSX and it is amazing with this game. You can tweak it til your hearts content. I'd recoment the trackclip pro also, I got it as a package from their website. Lots of places link to it and you can get a discount also.
