1. Noone knows how to get at these skins?
2. I would try updating your video driver. Seems like I had that problem too with an older Nvidia driver. If you cant get it from apple just download the newest refrence drivers from Nvidia and do a force install.
3. I'd try redownloading the data file again, it's worth a shot. the only way to tell if it's not corrupted is if it has like a MD5 checksum. They didn't include one for this download so it could be corrupted even if the filesize is correct. In fact I had one of the files corrupted on me , got all kinds of weird problems like you then redownloaded both setup file/data file and it was all good. Don't give up it's something stupid....it always is....
4. weird you have over 400 flares!!???
5. I can't remember if it did that in LOMAC or not , I always landed on stationary carriers :)
6. The reason ED made it like that is because it is like this on the real thing, the eyepiece goes exactly where they put it. What the logic for in reality is I don't know but I'm sure theres a reason. Look around the internet for pictures you will see what I mean.
7. I get this in campaigns also. I get Dragons parking areas but the ED runway and taxiways(cant recall the airbase). If I load up the ME and just make a mission to start at Maykop , it works perfectly. Maybe there is a 2nd set of runway textures or something for different airports? BTW it is a clean install and this is the only mod I have installed with modman, I'm using the "30year old" texture set
8. I'm trying to create a new skin, based off one of the skins included in the game but I'm having problems with a few things I can't seem to get a grasp on. There are several skins in C:\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Bazar\World that don't show up in my mission editor for use. Specificly: 1) Ka-50_Fictional_USMC_Grey_Scheme 2) Ka-50_Fictional_Turkey_Scheme 3) Ka-50_Fictional_Desert1_Scheme Why don't these show up in the list in the ME? EDIT: I found these if I select Turkey as the country, but shouldn't the Fictional Desert1 go under Russian? USMC skin under Turkey??? In addition, in the ME there are Russian skins I can use but I cannot seem to locate them because they are not in the same directory as the other skins and I have no idea where to locate them: Standard Standard(faded) Demo paint scheme # 22 "Black Shark" Demo Paint scheme #024 Demo Paint scheme "Werewolf" I want to make a skin based on the "Black Shark" scheme Any help is appreciated thanks
9. I was seriously considering replacing my 8800's but with Windows7 and DirectX 11 on the horizon I think I will hold off a while more. From what little I've seen this game appears to get a bigger boost from CPU upgrades.
10. I have Steam, but already purchased the download versions ( Russian and English ) directly so don't really have any incentive to purchase it again. I will say this: The slightly younger crowd loves Steam. ED would get a HUGE amount of advertising just from having their game on Steam. Anything which would get this product out in front of other flight sim fans or bring people in to play this sim would be a good move. Personally I think the state of the multiplayer base in this sim is pathetic at best. There are maybe 10 servers at any given time, most of them private...pretty lame. Multiplayer is where it's at, like it or not. If it wasn't for multiplayer, games like Falcon 4.0 would have died long ago. Steam would probably bring in thousands of more players. Even though BS multiplayer is mostly all about co-op, many people would still like it. Look at the success of games like Left for Dead. BS is an amazing game and I would like to see the series continue development. The only way that is going to happen is if people buy this game. The market is there, you just have to tap into it. If you don't like steam...fine, buy the box or download from ED directly.
11. You probably installed an older program that overwrote the one that came with Vista would be my guess. There is a small program in Vista to check file integrity called System File Checker, run that and have it specifically scan the file. Open a command prompt and type: sfc it will give you the proper direction on how to use it and how to check a single file.
12. It goes to the F10 map view for me also. Not sure about the inconsistent results but a few times my HD appeared to be loading something and would give a small hickup in the game. Also the new 181.20 Nvidia drivers are supposed to support multi-monitor SLI. Has anyone benchmarked or tried this yet? Kind of curious how good it is. Seems like it would render faster with each card rendering to its own monitor.
13. The beta software off their site has something like it that highlights the button when you click in it's macro box or vice versa
14. The twist grip is ok for now. I'm using it with no problems. The way the helicopter handles and with the realistic trim modeling and autopilots you don't make huge control inputs from the rudder unless you are evading, something is wrong with the helicopter or you are stunt flying. I have a feeling that pedals would be more accurate but can't say for sure since all I have are some old CH pedals that won't work under Vista 64 bit. I'll probably get some Saitek pedals soon myself. I do like that you can lock the twist grip if you don't like twist rudder.
15. I haven't done a search to see if these have been posted before , but it would make a cool skin indeed. :D
16. I still had the origninal stress test track, looks like it got removed or accidentally deleted. Here is the one I believe was posted orginally if you missed it.
17. What I'm refering to is this off the Nvidia website: "Due to architectural changes in the new Windows Vista Window Display Driver Model (WDDM), the graphics driver can no longer disable vsync from its own driver or Control Panel. Selecting this option from the NVIDIA Control Panel will have no affect on DirectX applications. For applications that use Direct3D on Vista, use the vertical sync setting within the application. We are adjusting the help text in the NVIDIA Control Panel to make this clearer to our customers." In other words unless they program an option in the game to enable/disable vsync, that setting will do absolutely nothing for games with Direct3d in Vista...there is no setting to disable Vsync in DCS:BS
18. You need the updated SD6 software the original version is buged and doesnt allow you to program the right shift
19. Trim reset always fixes this problem for me. Keep in mind you will have to trim again quickly because your nose will pitch up (default trim)
20. Strange, I thought since Vista came out that VSYNC is forced on all the time and no way to turn it off...
21. How the heck did you find -dx9 command line switch? Haven't found this documented anywhere.
22. I use ReadyBoost in Vista, I pluged in a 4 gig memory stick and set it to use the whole thing for readyboost. Seems to help with load times but I haven't put a stopwatch to it. Memory sticks are cheap I think I paid $20.00 for it...
23. I definately like the joystick more. It just seems to fit my hand better and there is an adjustable platform on the bottom where the pinky button is so you can adjust it to your hand size.
24. It will be blank like I said, but all the kepresses and macros that were used in the X52 profile are available to use in your X45 profile. It's just a way to save you some time inputing them all yourself.
25. If i remember right from Lockon, if you install multiple skins from different users you end up having to manually edit the graphics.cfg file or something so that they can co-exist since some "mods" replace the config files. So if you install one skin then another after only the second skin would work(I may be wrong here so don't take it as gospel) Seems like it was like this with the A-10 mod for Lockon where there were multiple configs and you had to manually replace the file to work with whatever mods you had installed or hand edit your config files. OR use modman compatible stuff so it could track changes and do all this for you. Always make backups and then you can check whats different between the original files or merge as needed.
