[MERGED] Normandy Map and WWII ASSETS, Not in Module Manager
the_soupdragon replied to coolts's topic in DCS: Normandy 1944
So EVENTUALLY (after about 60Gb of download and much gnashing of teeth) i have managed to get Normandy Installed. Using DOS commands of all things (what century are we in again??) But now I can't use it. Where is it? how do I use it? I am just exasperated that a major realease can go so bad. It's just ludicrous SD. -
[MERGED] Normandy Map and WWII ASSETS, Not in Module Manager
the_soupdragon replied to coolts's topic in DCS: Normandy 1944
Ha! so I come home from work at about 4pm (finished a bit early) Think ooh I'll start the Normandy dowload. so I start the download.....44Gb...? thats a bit steep i think, but, oh well. So I take the wife out for a walk and a bite to eat. return home at 8pm download still going.. Ok I wait a little longer. 10pm download has finished. Fantastic (i think to myself) I start DCS world Alpha and...........Nothing Nada.....zip. Bollocks...So I take to the forums and Lo there is a magic powershell command you can run to fix the issue. I run said command and am informed that I now have to download 4.4Gb of Data Oh and another 1.9Gb for the Assets. OK I am getting a little leary right about now, but I click the ok button and wait for yet another Hour........and Yay I have teh Asset pack but no Normandy terrain.....Great. I'm going to bed I've had just about enough of this. SD -
WOW. Exellent stuff. will try this as soon as I get home. Any chance of getting this into other airframes? huey for example. Nice job. Thanks man. SD

Sport's Populated Airfields v1
the_soupdragon replied to Sport's topic in User Created Missions General
Great work Sport. What would be awesome is if we could have the aifields automatically populated once you pick sides. So RED airfields get the russian gear and Blue gets NATO gear or whatever. Cheers SD -

Sound models of FC3 aircraft
the_soupdragon replied to BattleAxes Skinner's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
Its because all FC3 aircraft share some sounds so they all sound the same. If you change the sounds for one aircraft it changes the sounds for a few others. It would be great if ED could just give each aircraft its own soundscape. SD -
F-15C Dynamic Campaign: Screaming Eagle
the_soupdragon replied to MBot's topic in User Created Missions General
OK I figured it out. It seems I misread the readme :book: or the readme is slightly misleading. In the readme it says 1. Extract the folder in the zip file to: "DCS World 2 OpenAlpha\Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\Missions". Ensure that the resulting folder structure is “...\Flaming Cliffs\Missions\EN\Campaigns\Screaming Eagle\...”. But once extracted to this folder the the folder structure looks like this DCS World 2 OpenAlpha\Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\Missions\EN\Campaigns\Screaming Eagle v1.0\EN\Campaigns\Screaming Eagle So the EN\Campaigns\Screaming Eagle folders are duplicated. So I extracted the zip file to my desktop once extracted I browsed into the \screaming Eagle v1.0\EN\Campaigns\ folders within this folder is a folder called Screaming Eagle along with 3 files called Screaming Eagle.cmp, Screaming Eagle_first.miz and Screaming Eagle_ongoing.miz This folder and the 3 files should be placed into DCS World 2 OpenAlpha\Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\Missions\EN\Campaigns Once I did this it all work perfectly. I hope this makes some sense and I hope it helps JimBlue solve his issue as well. Cheers SD -
F-15C Dynamic Campaign: Screaming Eagle
the_soupdragon replied to MBot's topic in User Created Missions General
I am having the same issue and error as JimBlue. I run DCS as administrator and I have made the necessary edits to the MissionScripting.lua file using notepad++ I have followed the readme file to the letter to make sure that it is all installed in the correct folder etc but I still get the script error when exiting the first mission. It's like a kind of ground hog day as I can only replay the first mission :). I have no clue what I have done or am doing wrong. would love to get it working as what I have seen in the first mission looks excellent. My hat is off to you MBot some stella work being done here. ED really should pick you up. Cheers SD -
Those Icons are not from windows they are from your Nvidea drivers. to get rid of them follow the guide here https://www.howtogeek.com/271199/how-to-hide-the-nvidia-geforce-experiences-in-game-overlay-icons/ Cheers SD

Fantastic work. Any chance of a Desert cammo version for NTTR? Cheers SD

I'd go Northern Greece with parts of Macedonia Albania and Bulgaria. But a balkan map would be great. so many places to go to. I wish they would allow us the use of the terrain tools. Obviously any maps created would need to be passed by ED for quality control purposes but I think we would have way more maps available to us if they did. SD
