  1. I agree that control assignment is also for me a big threshold. I only play in VR. So, have to assign everything to my hotas. Unfortunately I can play dcs not often enough to keep remembering the assignments. Button32 does not tell me where it is on my hotas. So I have to use pdf images of my hotas with the button numbers. Not easy in vr. I have to switch between headset and monitor all the time.

  3. Thanks for confirming. I did all the above. It looks as if jester is too distracted with all the civil traffic and forgets to concentrate on the 2 bandits.
  4. Sure, but it needs moose script and my own script (both attached) and the Civil Aircraft Mod. It is used to simulate air traffic. F14B.zip
  5. In my mission jester will never get a target in his radar if it was found using datalink. I never can fire a missile. This is frustrating.
  6. If I turn datalink on, I can see Much more targets. Good. But jester refuses to lock any. TWS also does to work (no numbers assigned). If I turn datalink off, I get TWS to work. I can never use missiles when using datalink. Any ideas?
  7. I created it. It is based on one of the supercarrier missions in Persian gulf. But, I better try one of the standard missions to be sure. It looks, as if it is not an issue that everybody has.
  8. Yes, why? Nearest bandit was 10 miles away. One of my missiles was just about to hit the other one. What can wake turbulence do?
  9. Screen went black. F2 View showed plane tumbling to ground with a piece of it tumbling away. Thought I got hit with a missile, but tacview showed nothing. Just broke . Anybody experienced same thing? Any idea what can cause something like that?
  10. Not sure what is going on. I only have one waypoint. I can ask jester to switch to waypoint 2 or 3, but it does not show up. Only waypoint 1 works. I also only can see one waypoint in the f10 map, where there should be 3. Is anybody else seeing this? It worked before the last 2 patchS.
  11. The mission editor uses the concept of template that allows you to save a group of units for later use. You can then add it to any mission file. Unfortunately all units need to be in one group. So you cannot add static units and you cannot mix ships, planes or ground units. What was meant as template in this context is however Something different. It uses a set of scripts that accomplish different things, add a group of static objects at a specific place or remove them. You are supposed to include these scripts to your mission and call the one that sites your mission. Don’t worry, it is not that difficult. Just watch the video.. Truly amazing work .
  12. I liked how you could drive backwards with the viggen. Unfortunately it is not carrier capable.

  14. My second attempt to get to a catapult failed miserably. I followed all procedures of the personnel, but was not aligned 100%. the Director was happy though. After I switch Nose Strut switch to KNEEL I was requested to Connect to catapult shuttle. Following the Director’s signals, I taxi forward slowly to position the launch bar over the shuttle, but never made it on top but must have missed it. The Director kept telling me to go forward although I was almost at the edge of the carrier. Raising the nose was also not possible, so Nosewheel Steering is disabled. I can understand that because this is early access, we do not have a way to recover from this, but some kind of reset button would be good. Restarting the total mission is not realistic. How do you recover from this kind of problem in real life? Do they use some kind of push back truck?
  15. By the way, both f18 and f14 are worth every penny. I created a mission in which I just sit in a f14 with Open canopy watching all the ai launch.
  16. You probably do not own the f18 or f14. Both come with missions including the supecarrier. You probably need to create your own missions, but will not be able actually fly, as you do not own any carrier capable plane. Oh, the su-33 should work. Does have any missions including the supercarrier?
  17. The problem with a template is, that you need to select every unit that you want to save. On the carrier there are sometimes units on top of each other , which makes it impossible to select all.
  18. Found a workaround. First I tried to moved all static planes from parking locations 14-16 to 11-13. This made the E2 span on parking location 14. Nice, but then it actually taxed from there to catapult 1! And while doing so it actually moved right on the red/white separation line that separates the parking area from the landing deck. This made it go right through all of the static objects placed inside the parking area (I used the example mission from ED for the supercarrier). Looks like a bug. Next I moved the static planes from parking locations 8-7 to 16-14. This made the E2 span on parking location 7. It then taxied very nicely to catapult 3 and launched behind the F14. Perfect and very, very exciting to watch while you startup your bird. Remember when you start cold and dark, your canopy is open. Very exhilarating. But I believe that the only good solution for single player missions is, to be able to specify the parking location, similar as with at airports.   19. But this includes the map selection. It would be better to actually save the carrier group as a template. Edit -> add Template -> save template
  20. I am creating a single player mission in which I start dark and cold with F-14 and have 4 AI F-14 starting hot on the catapult (to show off the new supercarrier). Additionally I added a E2 parked hot. The target was to have the C2 launch, which is pretty cool to watch, while my F14 starts up. But what is happening is that I and my wingman get to stand on parking location 1 and 2, cold and dark (which are right behind catapult 1) and the E2 AI starting hot gets parking location 11, which is behind me and it cannot taxi to the catapult until I move. In the manual it is stated that this will happen, as AI cannot use parking location 1-4. But there is no way to direct the E2 to a different spot not behind me. A little bit frustrating. Does anybody have a way to solve this, or do we need to wait for EA to find a location? I have a huge supercarrier and I want to see it launching all kind of planes while I start up.

I am creating a single player mission in which I start dark and cold with F-14 and have 2 F-14 AI groups, composed each of 2 F14s, starting hot on the catapult (to show off the new supercarrier). I wanted to have them take off as fast as possible behind each others. I had group 1 on catapult 1+2 and group 2 on catapult 3+4. This lead to 1 and 3 being launched very fast after each other, but then there was a long wait until the others where launched. Which means that both groups have to wait for the second aircraft to launch. So, I moved the second aircraft of group 1 from catapult 2 to 3, thinking that this would launch the first group fast and then the second later. But what happened is that only the first aircraft launched fast. The launch priority on the supercarrier is a bit difficult to predict. Any insights?
