  1. Diesel_thunder, this looks like a Mission file, not a Template. I thought you where talking about creating a template. That is the icon in the editor that looks like a stamp. The benefit is, that you can insert it in any existing mission, independent of the map. Anybody who wants to use your „template“ has to load you mission and can no longer change the map. Is that correct?
  2. I think that is the purpose of a template. You create it after selecting all items that should belong to it and then save it. Next time you open the editor, you can place the template anywhere on the map. The problem is that this supercarrier has a lot of units o it that all need to be selected so that they can be saved as a template. It is a lot of work and it would be nice if we could share these templates between us.
  3. Sorry if this was already discussed, but have you seen this thread? https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=274106 Similar problem but then solved.
  4. Solved the riddle. Thanks Redliner7 and all others who helped. I tried the ACM cover (which I am fairly certain, I did not touch) and noticed that it will switch the "MSL MODE switch" to Boresight mode. So, I switched the ACM cover back and tried the fire 2 missiles with boresight mode on. Well, I got the result that I once saw. No TTI count down visible and both missiles ignored the targets. I then switch the "MSL MODE switch" back to normal and was able to send another 2 missiles towards the 2 bandits hitting both of them. So, "MSL MODE switch" should always be in Normal mode if you want to use TWS correctly.
  5. I am confused. Are you talking about the acm cover? What does that have to do with the radar-missile connection? I never thought that. But will try it out nevertheless.
  6. I am using YouTube extensively. I would not have tried dcs without all these very helpful videos. I just do not get enough time for dcs. About 2h per week.
  7. I fly beta. Thanks for the tip, but I would not survive 1 minute. I just do not get enough time in the simulation. I am really a noob although I am already flying since years.
  8. Thanks, I have similar experience, but only against ai. I never fly online. But what I have experienced in this on time was different. The targets all had priority numbers assigned to them by the radar and I was able to release a missile each, but then the missiles were not assigned to the targets. The targets did not get time to impact numbers assigned to the right of their icons and the missiles did not target any of the planes. I was able to release another 2 missiles while the other 2 where still flying (usually not possible) with same result. All missiles just ignored the targets.
  9. Interesting. I fly latest beta. Just did another try and this time it worked very nicely. Ttl was visible again and both bandits got hit. But the icons flashed, so that seems to be normal. I noticed that if you engage from too far away, both mig21 try to avoid the missiles successfully by flying in the opposite direction until the missives loose momentum. They do not do this if you engage later. Tacview is a big help analyzing this. But I still would like to know why the ttl sometimes is not visible and all missiles just ignore all targets.
  10. Over 40 views and no answer. My question is either very stupid or nobody has experienced the same thing? I should have posted in the f14 forum. Can I move this post? I did not find a way to do so.
  11. Ok, I successfully run the same simple mission (me agains 2 mig-21) several times. But this time I do everything exactly the same, however the aim-54 missiles ignore the targets completely. Both targets had priority numbers assigned. There are no tti numbers visible on the radar. The target icons are both flashing. I can release 2 addition missiles, which is not normal. They also ignore the targets (seen in saved track with tacview). What just happened? Is the radar so unreliable?
  12. i assume Memory frequency is also a lot different? CPU performance differences are actually not that much (according to Spechts) , but the whole platform has changed.
  13. I do not even know how to change brightness. It keeps resetting back to default whenever I move to a different screen. Do you need to save the setting? Chucks guide never mentioned something like that.
  14. Had exactly the same problem yesterday. Frustrating until I found the solution in the forum.
  15. Thanks, so it is a M2000C thing. Good to know. Thank you to all who answered. Saved me a lot of frustrating searching.
  16. Thanks to both for the info. I can confirm that this works. Strange is, that I do not remember this last time I used the mirage. Is this new to the module or dcs?
  17. Did not fly for quit some time, because my system was too slow. Now I am trying to retest my missions with DCS 2.5.6 and am having issues that I cannot even describe, because I do not know the correct words for it. I use auto startup and after I loose the parking brake, I cannot roll the aircraft. The reason is actually obvious, but I do not know how to name it. There are kind of blocks around both main wheels of the aircraft preventing it to roll. How do you call these and how do you remove them? Also tested with new mission. P.S. I also cannot contact ground crew for some reason. I though they would need to remove this?
  18. And this is why I keep coming back to this forum. Thank you!
  19. Currently the rendering is based on steam. This makes use of the steam time warp technology (sorry, not sure how it is called, as I use rift). Does windows mixed reality have this kind of support?
  20. UPS, didn‘t see that. What do you mean by : no problem. Can you use shadow and what FPS do you get?
  21. Best test would be to run same level with low graphics settings on a new Ryzen and new Intel system and see what fps they can get.
  22. I'm thinking about it. But they seem to be less easy to overclock than intel CPUs. DCS really needs high single core performance.
  23. You are probably not using VR? In 2D I can get about 60 fps.
  24. Instead of starting a new thread, I thought it would make sense to restart this topic now that the new Ryzen CPUs are out. I'm planning to update to a new system and one main topic is DCS performance. With my current system the CPU is the bottleneck. If I turn shadows on, I get 24fps. I do not believe that this is only related to the single core performance of the CPU, as the current best CPUs are only 30% faster than my my 7 years old CPU. What fps can I expect with shadows using a modern CPU? Which CPU would be the best? Any experience or ideas are helpful.
