I agree. They should have at very least included the cathedral in Canterbury. How come that this landmark is missing?

Thank you for asking him. It is really sad then, but it is consistent with what has been stated in the FAQ thread. No further updates to the Kuznetsov carrier are currently planned. That shatters hopes of all those who previously wrote that additional updates might be coming to the Kuznetsov carrier, and perhaps bought it having that expectation. The most striking thing is that those of us who were interested in Su-33 and bought it, while not being interested in western planes, would be paying 50/35 USD for just a new Kuznetsov model. It is such an obvious oversight from the ED that it could be perhaps explained only by what you have written previously, and I agree; we are just so a small fraction of the playerbase that we can be ignored.
-
You are a kind person, but money is not a problem for me; perhaps because I try to purchase things wisely. And buying the whole carrier module just the get a new Kuznetsov model does not appear a wise purchase to me. Since it is obvious that the ED does not find developing full features for the Kuznetsov carrier cost effective, which would have indeed convinced me to purchase the whole package, I am suggesting that they sell the new Kuznetsov model separately.

Hello. I would like to get the new Kuznetsov aircraft carrier, but I do not find the existing offer as a good deal. As I am not and never will be an owner of F/A-18 or F-14, I would be using little content of the carrier module while paying more than F/A-18 owners. This feels little bit like adding insult to injury. Not only the deck crew feature was not developed for the Kuznetsov carrier, to get at least the new model I need to pay for the deck crew and other features on Nimitz-class aircraft carriers that I will never see. Would it be therefore possible to sell the new Kuznetsov aircraft carrier separately at a lower price? This is not currently the case, see the quote below. I have no problem paying for it, but just not under the current deal. To understand me better, imagine the situation was reversed. That the Kuznetsov aircraft carrier would have had all bells and whistles, and to get at least a new Nimitz-class aircraft carrier model you would need to pay for the whole package, even though you would never fly Su-33.

A while ago, when Belsimtek was still a third party developer, a plan to develop a jester AI for the Mi-24P was announced. I hope that it is still planned, and that they could consider porting it to the Mi-8. I played quite a bit with the magnificent eight recently, and I found that it would have been great if the other crew members could have called out missile launches and enemy positions. After all, with the gunners, there are other 4 pairs of eyes. The aircraft could benefit from some other features, perhaps as a paid upgrade, including multicrew support, improved troop transport and wipers that remove rain droplets. The Mi-8 is possibly the most famous helicopter ever, and I am quite surprised the Huey, an obscure chopper I have never heard of outside the sim, is getting multicrew support first. It must be that more people have bought the Huey than the magnificent eight.

I understand the feeling. I got sniped in MP by brave fighter pilots too many times to count. Once the new iteration of KA-50 with a missile warning system gets out, I am sure we all get less frustrated.

This is because how it is implemented in the special options. That means that the server owner needs to dismount it in their special options, and for that they even need to have the plane installed there. The solution would be to move this to mission editor as the option to dismount the IFR hood. I (and others) have asked for it to be changed years ago, it did not.

Thank you for confirming. Setting azimuth is thus the only way how to avoid obstackles for targets in towns and next to treelines.

Hello, Is setting the impact angle of the LS-6-500 glide bomb modeled? I tried 0°, 30°, 60° and 90°, and it did not appear to make a difference. Thanks.

2 years ago I killed a fighter going over Mach 1 at 5 km with it. I am not sure if the flight model changed in the meantime as I stopped flying it, but the mistral missile surely dwarfts dedicated SAM sites with its performance.

Hello, If you jump into the instructor's cockpit, you will see that these lights are called Azimuth Correct and Distance Correct, respectively. These light are the system's evaluation whether the information received is reliable or not. In navigation and penetration modes you are not receiving glidescope information (in the penetration mode it is computed using pressure entered into ZDV-30 by the RSBN field elevation knob). In fact, you can enter a nonsense Landing channel, and both lights will be still on.

According to the real manual, in the actual plane disappearing K and G flags occur whenever you can use SDU in bank and pitch channels, respectively. On the other hand, their presence indicate poor or no signal strength, or absence of power supply (e.g., SDU if off). Furthermore, flags on RMI are just repeaters of SDU flags. They tell the pilot when it makes sense to turn on SDU, they do not appear to be informative about the RMI pointers. This is consistent with how it works in DCS.
-
Hello, First, the flags work as they always worked; I checked some old DCS videos. But for us who also fly MiG-21 it gets confusing as the two DCS modules unfortunately work inconsistently. I wish they were consistent. Second, there is good logic behind the flags in DCS: Let 0 stands for No Show (Off) and X for Show (On). You get, assuming correct Navigation and Landing channels are set, K G X X in the navigation mode, X 0 in the penetration mode, 0 0 in the landing mode*. *The flags can go On if you are off the course. Third, I feel what Bignewy wrote was a bit too concise. Flags serve as an indication of your SDU mode, rather than if you receive signals. In navigation and penetration modes only Navigation channel is used, and localizer signal is indeed received. It gives you direction and distance, but no glide slope. You get the glide slope in the penetration mode by setting the atmospheric pressure on ZDV-30, which is obtained when you contact the tower for approach. Disappearing G flag then means that you can use SDU in the pitch channel. In the landing mode, the Navigation channel is not used, instead it is the Landing channel. You receive the glide scope directly by the beacon if you are within a certain approach cone. It does not matter what pressure is entered to ZDV-30 (the RSBN field elevation knob). Disappearing K and G flags now means that you can use SDU in both bank and pitch channels.

How to fire the GS-23? // RPM drops without firing
-Martin- replied to frumpy's topic in DCS: L-39 Albatros
Hello, p. 235 of the manual By the way, if you do not charge the gun and press the trigger, PT-12 will engage and decrease your RPM without the gun actually firing. This shows that it does not try to emulate gas ingestion; instead it behaves as intended. -
[Collections] What you want to be able to bind in keyboard/device
-Martin- replied to uboats's topic in JF-17 Thunder
Could you add keybindings (normal, not for special devices) for (1) the HUD declutter switch, (2) the master caution button, and (3) the master exterior lights switch. Thank you for considering this request. -
How to fire the GS-23? // RPM drops without firing
-Martin- replied to frumpy's topic in DCS: L-39 Albatros
Hello, In order to fire the gun you must have right speed (>400kph IAS) and right AOA (dive on a ground target should do). You will notice that AOA advisory lights up when you cannot fire the gun. It is designed that way so fumes are not ingested by the engine. For the same reason RPM drops automatically. It is a safety measure. Btw, there is a button on the central piedestal to disable the limitter. It is for ground testing, but you may try to use it in the air to fire the gun under any speed and AOA. -
I hope they could consider adding it as an option. It would be a difficult decision for me to buy this plane otherwise; I do not fly aircraft using imperial system.
-
I can confirm that it disappeared also for me.

Sadly, no raindrops at the moment. I have not seen any updates to the module for quite some time. It would be great to know if we ever get this effect implemented.
-
I do not personally see the problems that others reported with the steam version: In the past there was a significant delay before modules were released on the steam version, but currently it is at most by a couple weeks. No problems with mods on the steam version on my side, with or without JSGME. Also support is now excellent, with NineLine and Wags regularly posting over there. The steam version has nevertheless one advantage, unless you are limited by your internet provider: a much faster download speed.

I was able to shot down a plane at an altitude of 7km flying at the deck with the mistral helo, and the missile flew over Mach 2 all the way up if I recall this correctly. Many SAM systems would be envious of such performance. So the missile appears fairly unrealistic to me.

I think you should not expect that the plane will significantly change in future, what you see now is pretty much what you get. Nevertheless, the impression that you got from reading the forum might be misleading. It is already a nice plane and there are a variety of things to do: Intercept bombers, air to ground rockets are very effective as the piper (with the radar on in a beam mode) can precisely tell you the impact point, it has IFF, it has autopilot, and other stuff you will not find in say F-5. It is challenging to land, it is challenging to fight against F-5s. Based on my previous experience you can reasonably expect that there will always appear new bugs, but in one or two month the developer shall fix them. When a new piece of technology from ED comes, in one or two month the developer shall implement it. There are other issues that would be so great to have fully developed (ASP, SAU, RWR), but not because the plane would not be enjoyable or playable now, but because the plane is so great that it would become a legend of DCS if it was brought to perfection. That is what people want, but I would not expect that. Hope this helps.

Flight director needles on the attitude indicator are not illuminated at night despite having internal lighting on. I am used to look at them from L-39 and I find it personally unpleasant that I cannot see them at night.
