VKB GLADIATOR NXT - Entry Level Taken to the NXT Level
dporter22 replied to UIV's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
Ok. I just wanted to avoid tearing the whole stick apart to install the hat switch if the mini stick works fine as a hat. -
VKB GLADIATOR NXT - Entry Level Taken to the NXT Level
dporter22 replied to UIV's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
So by pushing the mini stick it then functions as a hat switch? If so, does it work well as a hat or do you need to replace the mini stick with the included hat switch anyway? -
Thanks. Before posting this question I searched all over the web and through all of my Air Force flight manuals for an FM guard frequency and couldn't find anything that said FM Guard is 40.5. Where did you find that info?
-
Yes, but wouldn't that be on the UHF radio since the VHF FM radio can't tune to 243.0?
-
Could someone please clarify the EMER FM function on the VHF FM radio head? If guard is 121.5 AM, what is the function of this position since the FM radio cannot tune to 121.5 AM? Also, if I select EMER AM on the AM radio, does it just receive/monitor 121.5 or would it also transmit on 121.5? Page 141 EMER FM. When the radio is set to this position, the guard channel is automatically selected. This selection has no effect with VHF/AM. EMER AM. When the radio is set to this position, the guard channel is automatically selected. This selection has no effect with VHF/FM.

How to assign TDC slew axes?
dporter22 replied to dporter22's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
It's not a POV hat, it's the mini stick on the throttle used for slew control. What I meant was that instead of moving the stick to assign the function, you simply use the drop down options to select Joy X and Joy Y for HOTAS Slew Horizontal and HOTAS Slew Vertical. -
A-10C II flight model: landing and take-off sides
dporter22 replied to Mercury_1965's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
Just like car tires, aircraft tires are rated up to a certain speed. Above that speed the mateirals and construction are vulnerable to failure. -
That sounds possible, except it's not just there for a second and then changes to a mini SPI, sometimes the diamond symbol is visible for quite a while and it moves around. When another aircraft broadcasts their SPI, I can see the mini SPI immediately, and it will be in a different location than where the white diamond was.

Just wanted to see if I was misunderstanding something. Both depictions should show the same ID numbers, correct?
-
I don't believe it's from a non-net aircraft since there were no other aircraft in the mission. Might be the wingman's TGP as suggested. Too bad it's not mentioned anywhere in the manual. ED?
-
What's the white diamond on the TAD in the attached screenshot? It seems to have something to do with the wingman, but I can't find anything about it in the manual.

On page 408 of the current guide, Flight 2 is identified as Grp ID 02/Own ID 01 and Grp ID 02/Own ID 02 in the depiction on the left, but in the depiction on the right they are labeled as Grp ID 03/Own ID 04 and Grp ID 01/Own ID 04.

Do these missions work for everyone else?

reported CCIP - Projected Bomb Impact Line Issue
dporter22 replied to w00k's topic in Bugs and Problems
Horizontal CCIP line for me too. -
Have tried the Stranded Sub mission in the Persion Gulf menu several times and nothing ever happens. No enemy ships, AWACS doesn't call out any targets, nothing. Also tried Bird on a Wire a few times and nothing happens there either. I fire on the helo after it spins up, but no amount of damage ever destroys it and then it just sits there. Any ideas?

As was said above, your course is set to 000 so that's the course the CDI is tracking. You have to set your course to the published ILS course, in this case, 209 inbound for RWY 21L.

Got it, thanks. Interestingly, when I changed the DCS keys to 4, 5, and 6 for the radios to make them different than SRS as you explained, somehow it changed the SRS keys from what I had (1, 2, and 3) to 3, 4, and 5 for the radios, yet 1, 2, and 3 are the SRS keys that work in game and the comms menu doesn't appear. It works though, so I'm not going to mess with it.
-
When using SRS for comms during multiplayer missions, the default comms menu always appears in the upper right screen whenever I use any of the mic switches even though I haven't pressed the \ key. This means I have to exit out of the comms menu before using any of the F keys which is cumbersome, and if I forget and hit an F key before exiting, it changes my radio frequencies. Is there any way to activate the mic switches without pulling up the comms menu?

Mission 3 requires you to overfly a stadium at 1200 TOT, however the mission starts around 0720 and it doesn't require 4.5 hours to fly to the stadium. The briefing says mission start is 1112. Is this a bug?
