It happens to me also at various times for no reason. No warnings, no abnormal indications, plenty of fuel, no birds, random failures not selected, etc.

You're likely having the same problem as all of us since the FLIR was broken many updates ago and still hasn't been fixed AFAIK. Objects are basically invisible in most circumstances no matter the brightness/contrast settings, BHOT/WHOT selection, time of day, terrain, etc. They just say that's how it's supposed to be or that we're doing something wrong, but it's not. I've flown IRL with the Litening pod (and Sniper pod) and the DCS image is not even close in most cases.

Correct. I've flown about 9 or 10 missions now and all the AI flights just stay basically where you see them on the map I posted. They are assigned as suggested and armed correctly. Early on a CAP flight and SEAD flight did go north, but not anymore. It's just the exact same voiceovers every mission with the AI orbiting off the coast so I can't even tell if it's progressing. Also, the target coords given in the debrief are different in the briefing for the next mission so that's confusing also.

Does anyone fly this campaign? Is the developer still around?

What's the secret to getting the AI flights to attack? Have flown 4 missions and the AI flights just orbit off the coast the entire time even though I've correctly assigned payloads and tasks. Last code was EHHHDE.

Still doesn't work for me. Track attached. The first part shows that Mavs have no effect on T-72s (different issue), but at the end I was holding DMS Forward Long the entire time and the Mav never stabilized, it just moves around with aircraft movement whether DMS Forward is held or not. mav1.trk

Dumb question - is the open beta manual different than the one available on the DCS documentation page?

What does "go online mode" mean?

Does anyone know how to fix this? It shows up every time I start DCS. I just click OK and it goes away and DCS starts as normal.

Doesn't work for me. Maverick seeker still moves all around with aircraft movement and holding or releasing DMS Forward does nothing.

Yes, I've tried all combinations of brightness/contrast. The pic shows the display with medium brightness, but brightness doesn't really matter anyway because decreasing the brightness also decreases the brightness of the symbols which keeps them nearly invisible regardless of the settings. And turning up the contrast just makes the symbols more yellow which makes them even less visible. The center display at least has a separate symbol brightness control, but it still doesn't make them bright enough to see clearly over the map.

Thanks. I just have a hard time understanding why they would design something as important as the symbology to be near invisible IRL. The pilot should be concerned with getting the best image possible, but the symbols/overlays should be highly visible and instantly readable under all display settings.

Is there a secret to making the symbols over the FLIR and map bright enough to actually see them clearly? I've tried every combination of brightness and contrast but no matter tnullhe settings the symbols are always barely visible. The map has a symbol brightness button but even at max the symbols are not very bright, and turning the gain down all the way helps a little but then you lose most of the map visibility. In the A-10 the symbols are very clear over the map and TGP MFDs.

Yes, that box is checked but it doesn't change which views are allowed in a mission. I believe the various options (F6 view, map view, auto start, etc.) are controlled by the author of the mission.

Is there a way to enable the F6 weapons view and F10 map view showing the player's aircraft in this campaign for those of us who aren't experts yet?

Different question while you're here: What's the secret for getting JTAC to clear you hot? I have tried multiple times being exactly on the correct attack heading and he always says go around.

It would be nice if the view of the cockpit didn't become such poor quality when you turn on the NVGs.

I'm confused. I get assigned to Sector 3 and JTAC says there's a tank in 3 Charlie northwest of Tomban. Does that mean grid 3C within Sector 3, because there is no tank there. When I finally found the tank it's in 2D of Sector 3.

Yes, SEQ1 is boxed. I've tried everything, but most of the time I'm unable to select AUTO.

Correct, autopilot is not engaged when trying to select AUTO.
