Since what ED provided is an Doppler radar, no it won't show ground returns, you would likely need to code two radars, one that only activates in low PRF. Until the AG radar API works and is available to third partys, we won't get that.
-
That will probably fix this bug too, but it's not a solution, i mean, i have to downgrade, get the file, then update and hope i don't mess it up. On top of all that, the next update i'll have to replace it again.
-
Same problem here, attacked a convoy with mixed pods, only the HE rockets fired, AP stayed in the pods.

Very much not true, the Harrier had to be functional for E3, so they focused on it for a few months, now the Mirage is getting finished, and i mean there is little left to do on it. The only reason you aren't seing any progress is because ED isn't pushing the patches. You just have to wait :).

So, a friend put full afterburner, then ejected while on an airfield, that's what happened..... Now, this Mig, hit an oil tank, didn't blow up, ran for about 20 minutes in full afterburner without running out of fuel, and then disaster ^^. Question is, is it a bug, or a feature :D ? (We are speaking french in the video)

Now, is seems that with the new 1.5.7 update, every piece of glass on every aircraft looks very opaque and dark, but in the Su-25..... The darker parts is this "filter" and it's not tied to the canopy position in the Su-25. I don't exactly know why it's here, but i do think it's not supposed to be ^^. All my drivers are up to date.

Is that a joke ?

Current PCA : Press 530 button with Master Arm on Arm, already was in AA mode, selects the 530, if i press the trigger with a target locked, missile goes. New PCA : Press 530 button with Master Arm on Arm, selects AA mode, selects 530, if i press the trigger with a target locked, missile goes. Massive change, instead of having to look at the HSI when Master Arm on, 530 not selected, i'll be able to look at my HUD for my NAV, such wow.

I think it's you mate that doesn't understand the point ^^ DCS is realistic even thought alot of things are not like that in a real environnement. The PCA in the Mirage is realistic even thought it doesn't operate exactly like the real thing, it's really close to what it will be.
-
Since the radar has a smaller zone to scan, targets in that area will be detected faster, that's it.
-
Ok the B-Scan bug has been around for a while, RDO shouldn't do what It's currently doing in the game anyways and the antenna in azimuth settings 30/10, will move with your cursor, the only problem is that when you loose a target the antenne goes back to It's original settings (+-0 degres, centered). Same happens in azimuth 60 so.
-
Would you call DCS realistic ? I would. Is it perfect ? No.
-
When a plane is jamming, if It's too far away you won't see the dash line. And changing azimuth, lines,.... Does not effect the quality or the detection, it will simply scan a smaller zone, therefor it will scan it faster.
-
Outside default settings ??? What does that mean ? And the radar is working fine, i'm not having any issues with it.
-
The FM is already corrected internally, and the PCA changes i'm not sure, but i think they're not finished yet.
-
As for all 3rd partys, ED is the limiting factor as to went the updates go out, CptSmiley has got quite a few changes ready but none were put in a patch yet.
-
Would have been nice to quote the entire sentence. As i said, it's not perfect in the way it operates, maybe your looking for a much higher level of realism then i am, but for me the PCA is realistic, not perfect, but close enought to reality that i wouldn't mind it staying like that, of course, i'm looking forward for these changes. The weapon deployement doesn't seem that different from now, and in general it doesn't seem like it's going to change that much for us the simers.
-
Well tell me then ^^. I thought it was only at low speeds / high AoA.
-
Couldn't agree with you more :)
-
Well maybe more like functions on a system : CP/PD, DO/RDO and TEL. DO/RDO isn't confirmed but would nice to have and the last one was never used and will probably never be implemented. Except the FM bug, mostly minor and esthetics bugs are left. :)
-
Sounds nice ! Rather intresting idea.

Never said it was, and no getting up under a sophisticated fighter only requires you to see it, surviving requires luck and/or SA. Calling players "monkeyz" is as far as i'm concerned is not very respectfull ^^. So no, my personnal feelings have nothing to do with it. And the work that Mirknir has done is great, the server is good, runs good and is nice, we are simply arguing over a small detail (even if it seems like a big one seing the conversation we've had), so really there's no point in flooding the thread even more. So far the advantages of a GCI are proven, and saying that they aren't compared to the ingame AWACS is just nonsense, every controller that has played DCS and that i've met agrees with me on that. Mirknir doesn't want to add commander slots for obvious reasons, doesn't want lotATC for understandable reasons and a script is being made for Skynet 2.0. So we'll wait for Skynet 2.0.
-
Yes indeed, even without a GCI it's possible to succeed, but as you said, to fly the aircraft as they were meant to be, if you want aircrafts to be ~equal.
-
Do you fly the Mig-21 ? It's a hole other level of horrible SA. Getting up under an aircraft, alone, is not having SA, you'll probably shoot him down, but a pita it would be if someone pops up 5 miles away from you, closing in fast, you can shoot down as many "monkeyz" as you want, but you still won't know what's going on around you, so saying that you shoot down alot of planes really doesn't prove much,... well at least on the argument. Also it seems your tip on being respectfull to others applys to everyone except you, in true Texan fashion ^^.
