except that the team working on the MiG-19 is not the same....
-
It has nothing to do with the Harrier, other servers would get the problems, someone else would get the problem and the server just crashed when there was no harrier on it... DCS has to be restarted for it to dump the cache, probably due to memory leaks.

I think the briefing should be updated, it would help new players understand better what's happening, Here is a list of things which need to be added : - Information about units on certain objectives (what to expect, what type of threat is it and how effective they are,...). Tell people to SEAD and that rushing in is going to result in a death. - What exactly is the point of deploying EWRs ? (EWR script, SA,...) Placing JTACs (obvious for finding hidden units and for the team in general), and placing long range SAMs on POI and High points (antennas) to defend the current objectives. - remember fighters to cover their strikers (ramdoms usually rush and let others die), and if strikers do not communicate on SRS, they can look up their positions with the EWR script. - tell players to beware of the ennemy CAP at all times. And lastly i think a big disclaimer should be added on the webmap and in chat when you log in "READ THE BRIEFING" (also the webmap link needs to be updated) This seems like obvious stuff, but alot of new players get shot down because of these things and do not stay on the server. Also the webmap last update time is in UTC and not GMT+1

Hello, I and other friends are playing on the server and we are consistently running into a synchronisation/weird server crash issue. I'll try to edit this post with further informations as we experiment but here is what we discovered: After 3 to 4 hours of uptime, the server "crashes", the webmap says offline, the server is not in the server list anymore but some things are still synchronized when we play on it in this state. For exemple, my buddy in a Harrier rearmed and i could see that he did, his nozzles were moving for me and when he crashed into me i blew up BUT he never moved on my screen. It might be a good idea to reduce the time in between restarts as the server never reaches six hours of uptime anyways.* EDIT : Server just crashed at 19:38 GMT+1, 46 minutes before restart.

It would be nice to change the presets on the harrier's second radio (only one working atm) because we cannot go on 251.

When i activate a groupe of 5 soldiers that are tasked to embark in zone AND when a client is connected, the game crashes. It seems to crash not when the troops spawn but when they start running to the embarking zone. When i am alone on the server (just me the host), it works without any problems. What causes this crash is still unclear to me because this mission worked the first time we made it until i asked the soldiers to embark in my helicopter, we were about a mile away when they spawned and started the task, logs and mission attached. Hello guys, i'm trying to get the mission running but i'm having a couple of issues, - I can't get CTLD running - I can't get the convoys tab to appear in F10 - There are none of the "base units" on the mission - and finaly i can't get slotblocking to work The mission isn't very dynamic without all this ^^. Thanks in advance, Rex.

I'd love to know how you estimated those results, i couldn't find alot of technical data on the Search radar and tracking radar of the Tor M1 (radar equation might be overkill for this purpose but more precise).

Alot easier said then done. We are missing quite alot of information.

The color of the screens won't change, doesn't matter if it's user friendly or not, it just has to be realistic, which it is. As for the NVGs, the problem is that you can't set the brightness on them, it wouldn't be a problem if DCS had realistic NVGs which adjust gain automaticly. But in the mean time these brightness control should be added.
-
First of all i think you should read the manual because it would answer pretty much all of your questions and problems. The ARBS is a simple (and probably cheap) x6 TV which doesn't have night vision capabilities, the TPOD does however. The MPCDs are in the correct green color and are not yet NVG compatible because you cannot modify their brightness, which will come but it will still be far easier to use them without NVGs (in the A-10, most of the writing in green is still unreadable in night mode). As for the NVGs, they are not correctly simulated in DCS in general, but I don't think you would see an improvement in quality if they were. You should use your instruments and your INS (which is not in the aircraft yet) to find airfields and other POI. Finally the mavericks are not ground stabilized, this is why they go all over the place when you maneuver. Rex

With such a low RCS for the 122, it would unlikely be able to shoot it down. A maverick or an MPU surely even bombs but an AIM-9 ?

DCS AV-8B N/A Night Attack doing Night attack?
Rex854Warrior replied to OnlyforDCS's topic in AV-8B N/A
Well this isn't the greatest of videos, in many ways, but it'll work... It's a preplanned strike mission at night, we were in a flight of a two Harriers. Rex. -
Yes they are in, they were some more tweeks done to the FM, it's now pretty much on point with the charts we have now (only in 2.2).

Until ED syncs runway damage on servers, and adds a special type of warhead for antirunway bombs, there will be no BAP-100. LN with the Bk-90 was clever, but in the end it's just a cruise missile wich exhaust were silenced not so long ago. The BAP-100 could be a Mk-82 AIR with a BetAB-500 Rocket booster but with 3.5 kg of explosives, that would do nothing in the current DCS engine, you could of course put a bigger warhead, but again, runway damage would be superficial except if you put a 100kg warhead (~3-4 m blast in game) which is ridiculous.

Turn on the Digital Engine Control System (DECS), should make it disappear.

I and a friend had time to make a test, went to the firewall settings and blocked internet access to DCS.exe and when i launched it, it told me that i have no connectivity and so no multiplayer but that i had access to all modules. If you don't do that and the server is down then it would tell you the Harrier module is unavailable,... So it works when you have no internet, but not when you have internet and the server is down.

It's been repaired, someone must have pressed the wrong key :D (i know it's probably more complicated then that)

same here. Looks like that new DRM solution is working perfectly....

KC-130 engine sound
Rex854Warrior replied to Rex854Warrior's topic in Aircraft AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
Well, something must have gone wrong because it doesn't sound the same for me. I also discovered the new J-11 has the default turbofan sound, like the KC-130 (they sound the same). Should i run a repair ? EDIT : Ran a repair, but nothing changed, i recorded a video, here's what it sounds like : -
Hello, I can't record a video atm nor edit it, but i noticed that the KC-130 makes a jet engine noise (sounds alot like the Mig-21Bis from the outside), it seems the blades don't make any noise. Good afternoon, Rex. EDIT : Only the green lights on the underwing refueling pods work, but i'm sure that's already a known problem :).

On openbeta, that's a third version, not present in 1.5.7. The sensor isn't removed off the pylon model when you disable it in the editor.
-
4 gigs of download just for the update, not even the harrier ?
-
So, while were watiting, who's going to bother trying out the other fixes and updates ? :D (when it goes live of course)
