  1. The Hunter is sort of a generation later though. The Swedish air force where one of the first hunter users though. In fact they where so early that the Hunter couldn't' fire it's guns yet because it would ingest gun smoke and flameout ! The Hunter is probably my favourite aircraft and i would love to see a 1960 cold war conflict server with it and all the other strange jets of that mostly forgotten era of the late 50's ! :D
  2. Actually the Tunnan would be a great addition as then it the Mig15 anf F86 would all have different armament as it had the best with 2x 20mm
  3. Sweden Flew recon Spitfires over the soviets on the Kola peninsula in the late 40s early 50s. With Mig15 trying to catch them
  4. We clearly need the Draken now to provide escort !
  5. I have an old X52 but it needs new springs because it wont center properly and i cant find any. But the lack of a scroll wheel is annoying. The Warthog would be my main.
  6. So it's invalid because heatblur isn't in the list of aproved sites according to the steam forum ? https://steamcommunity.com/app/223750/discussions/0/154642901282891575/
  7. An SH-37 Viggen got a maneuver kill on an Su15 over the baltic in 1985. The SH-37 was very similar to the AJ-37 Viggen it had switched some weapons options avionics for recon equipment. In 1981 Formations of AJ-37 Viggen took off loaded with RB04E's to strike a soviet flotilla believed to have penetrated the Swedish border while J35F Draken flew CAP. In 1994 a Viggen accidentally landed on a road near the airbase did a reverse thrust 180 and took off again blasting the front end of a civilian car with gravel in the process !
  8. Don't think the Swiss bought a jet in that time period other than the F-5E Tiger II They flew the Mirage III besides that and where often in Sweden to practice as we where both Neutral during the Cold War and we had more space than they had !
  9. I'm thinking of buying a joystick to operate the radar but i've noticed the radar stick has a scroll wheel and i can't find one with a scroll wheel. Anyone know of one ?
  10. I haven't bought a module before will that thing work on Steam ?
  11. It certainly felt liek the Draken accellerated way more quickly than the Viggen during airshows when i was a kid. Also the RM6C Avon has spectacular diamonds in afterburner !
  12. These things are the lights that indicate warnings from the Radar Warning Receivers. Compare it with this S35E Draken (photo recon bird) and you can see the same lights around the artificial horison. It's actually the same exact system that Recon Drakens got in the 70's to make them a little more survivable.
  13. Releasing the drop tank in the Viggen is as easy as the start up you press one button and the tank is gone ! No need to flip Switches to turn off pumps etc !
  14. YES some major changes in Ändring 90 it seems, Controls 19 21-23 are gone!
  15. My thoughts went to the Square Pair Fire Control radar for the S200 missile complex SA-5 Gammon. During the raid on Libya in the 80's EA-6B prowlers completely shot down this system as it's ECM pods would disrupt the search pattern of the fire control radars leading them astray. And without a lock you can't guide the missile. In essence it can best be described as the fire control radar looking for a return from the aircraft that to it looks like a mountain peak on an oscilloscope, what ECM does (simplistically) is create a nicer mountain next door but like the rainbow the radar never seems to get to that mountain just close enough to chase it. It also disappear when the radar beam wanders too far from it's intended target resetting the search pattern. Since aircraft are only vulnerable for a short period of time this kind of jamming is extremely effective, especially since a CW missile like the Gammon would home in on any white noise jamming and has the range to reach stand off jammers.
  16. I Translated the description of the RWR Countermeasures controls in the cockpit ! https://c2.staticflickr.com/1/344/31659082801_3c5e9f99c0_o.jpg
  17. Well what part of the engagement chain of the HAWK battery is it supposed to jam ? I'm unsure of the acquisition mode in the HAWK battery but the fire control radar is usually the weakest link, if you can trick the fire control radar to break lock it doesn't matter if the Continuous Wave guidance is difficult to jam, it won't be pointed at anything. Fire control radars are also the ones most like aircraft radars after all.
  18. The J35F draken was taken out of Swedish service in 1991 but Finland still used second had J35F1's called J35FS until they got all their F/A-18 Hornets ! There it was in service until 2000
  19. Makes me think of the New Zealand Skyhawks who got something similar at around this time !
  20. I recognized the Serial number 37431 at 3:37. That is impossible as that is a JA37 Viggen. http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/photo/001009942.html You need to pick a number between 37001 and 37108
  21. Those numbers where he programmed 9099 usually describe heading and distance to waypoints. First 3 digits direction last 3 digits distance in hectometers. so 99.9km is the max displayable range between waypoints.
