  1. Now I completely agree here with the whole popup part of the comms menu, personally I'd like to turn it off completely - maybe a user option flag? Though I've never experienced the part where by it popping up not allowing you to raise the hook and clearing deck... Neither have I experienced the taxi issue - this is not me calling you out, however this is me saying could you record it so we can see this happening :)
  2. Simple one: Have the option to dim the UI (Chat box, comms menu, radio message, etc) automatically based on time of day. I was flying in VR, at night and every time a radio message came up it was a slight strain for my eyes to adjust. Cheers, Danny
  3. Just tried the viggen, doesn't cause any issues for me. The movement is much more reduced that what appears when not using VR. So I'm going to take an educated guess and say it'll be the same :)
  4. You can't just simply publish part of an update......
  5. Oh look it's another 'balance' thread.... <comment is as useful as the thread
  6. I'll grab my popcorn... You put 'Realistic' and 'labels' in the same sentence... Batten down the hatches!
  7. Hi Nine, Sorry I started this thread but never replied haha, haven't been checking the forums/ further testing of the 'issue' as I've just been too busy. So this AM before work I quickly setup a very simple mission, start on ramp cold, carrier going 10kts, no wind. Remove chocks, go to drain the tanks to 50% and still saw decksliding/hoping... I say hoping because in this case it's more like a stutter in the sliding. I've attached a zip containing track and miz file. Hope it helps. Note, you can even see the sliding happen when refuelling/rearming even when the boat it moving at 1kt. The movement is tiny, like it moves a pixel (on a 1080 screen) every 3-5 seconds but that still shows something isn't 100% with it. Hope you guys can resolve this as I'm sure the team really don't want to be burning energy on it anymore. Cheers, Danny DeckSliding.zip
  8. I don't think Sli even works in dcs
  9. Hi there, A mate of mine and myself were on a mission when we found that there still seems to be deck sliding in certain scenarios. The boat was going approximately 25kts into a 6kts wind, we were going launch and then go into a pattern for trap practice. When we went to drain the internal tanks with the rearm/refuel page, as soon as fuel was being moved from the jet then the sliding started, so much so that my buddy rotated about 45-50° and hit my jet which was parked next to it. We noticed that this is also the case when loading heavier loads on the plane. I didn't manage to record the one which caused the crash, but I did run a single player mission and tested it again - and it happened. Now I imagine the large amount of sliding was possibly due to it being multiplayer and the small movement seen in the linked video is amplified by any desync etc. - if getting an error on the player above use this link If anymore information is needed then ask. Cheers, Danny
  10. download 7zip :) it's free and will open pretty much every archive type
  11. *Get some popcorn and grabs a chair*
  12. Not to be a dick, but it's why I never use auto start. Personally I think it's best to learn the start up, which in the f-18's current state is very simple. In fact now is the time to learn it, so that when more things are being added it's doesn't become more daunting. Ps. If you're using auto start because you canny be arsed doing it, but already know how to do it then my bad! :D
  13. You don't need to dial in the correct frequency when using easy comms.
  14. We get what they can give... They've stated that the MLA is the variant that they can get all the information on.
  15. Not that I can see on my network logs nor have I experienced any connection problems. I'll keep you posted if I get some new findings :D
  16. They are reworking the AR system to have more dynamic elements (basket contact/boom contact) so it will probably will appear somewhere. The problem with it at the moment would be due to the fairly simple damage model, the way contact and damage would be too 'basic' that it would be a waste of time/resource IMO
  17. I've attached the log for the mission with no timeout, it also has the .old log which is where I did disconnect 20182404_DannyP_Logs.zip
  18. Using bitdefender but have made sure nothing is being blocked, router is fine - again made sure it doesn't block anything. What I will do is run some logging on my network, and additional logging on my machine to see if we can't see an issue somewhere. I had another disconnect a few hours ago, I had loaded into an AV8B but then swapped to the viggen, connection dropped about 20mins into the flight. Then I restarted dcs, loaded into same server and only selected the viggen and connection never dropped for over 1.5hours. Does dcs send logging reports whilst the game is running? or is it only on a crash? Wondering if that massive amount of harrier errors is causing something. I'll try for the next few day not to use the harrier and see if I get any disconnects. Cheers, Danny
  19. Evening Bignewy, Yeah I was surprised by the large amount of errors on the harrier. Win is up-to-date, gpu is too. Cleaned and repaired dcs and still unfortunately I'm getting timeouts. What is strange is that I do appear to be loosing connection (steam says I go offline then back on instantly), this though only happens on dcs, never seen it with any other game or application.
  20. Hey guys, Currently having some odd random disconnects in multiplayer, the play time does vary. PC specs: 780ti - driver 391.35 4930K 16gb DDR3 win 10 - 10.0.16299 Logs attached Cheers, Danny Danny_P_Logs.zip
  21. Quick bug report. HUD information missing when low textures settings enabled. Elements such as the pitch ladder, targetting pod/mav ques, gun piper center dots, do not appear on the HUD. All elements appear fine on medium and high texture settings. Cheers, Danny
  22. I personally think that not working on any more fc3 style modules for the foreseeable future is a good thing. Now, I don't think the fc3 are by any means 'arcade' - that in my mind is not the way we should see those modules, after all they sit in the same sim and though 'dumbed down' they still take time to master. I'm not against them at all, I'd just rather devs spend their limited time and resources on full modules. Now if there was some research that genuinely proved that fc aircraft would have a massive impact on the player base then I'd be more than happy. The reason though I think it's a good thing, is that I feel people are put off the 'full fidelity' modules far too easily, there's soo much talk about the time needed to learn the aircraft - and that is true if you want to learn everything about it. The M2k for example, I taught someone how to do basic flight (startup - to landing) and then basic use of combat systems in approx 2hours. In fact from the various ts's I've been in, most of the people who have questions on certain aspects of the sim are asking about fundamentals which are shared across all aircraft, for example: Explaining how a radar works like a cone (to put it simply) and that's why they can't see an aircraft. Not which button to press to do whatever.
  23. Pretty sure it's the Harrier II Plus that could carry the 88, not the variant we have which is the Night Attack
  24. Well what's probably happening is as they would use and edit the 135 that is already in game (Which ED own). They're probably not doing it, as the F/A-18 uses the same system thus you'll probably find this is an update ED themselves will do and it's probably why it isn't done already. But hey that's my guess
  25. To add to the list of crash reports. Attached is log file and "failed.ofsh" which was created at the end of the log: 2018-02-03 23:30:46.070 INFO EDTERRAINGRAPHICS41: Save scene: "C:\Users\Danny_P\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\failed.ofsh" DCS.openbeta.zip
