Pretty sure the info about snowplough mode on the Hornet ATFLKIR is incorrect. Point 5 below seems incorrect to me. For me, as well as YT vids I looked at, the left/right/up/down degrees are the same as the VVI, when starting the snowplough mode. Worth a check, I would say.

Ah OK. CM2 or CM3 base?

You can have all your devices connected if you like. For safety's sake, it might be best to just have the one you want to upgrade connected just in case of a mistake. What Virpil devices do you own?
-
Won’t do any harm to copy saved games, but the firmware update won’t affect that. The only issue that might occur is a change of windows device ID. Read above about JoyPro which can get round that issue so you don’t have to re rebind everything. No other updates for devices needed apart from Virpil firmware.
-
Sorry, we’re talking about exporting the device profile from Virpil software.
-
The solution to this if it does happen is JoyPro, the best DCS utility I have seen. One of its many functions is the ability to swap binds to the new device if the ID changes. An invaluable tool in so many ways.
-
That doesn’t always happen. Not quite sure what does make it happen, but only occurred a couple of times to me out of many dozens of firmware updates.

Great! I’m glad you’re happy with your Virpil kit!

Pretty much no single player missions anywhere for this map?

Thank you for that. I'll give it a go tomorrow. I also discovered that Briefing Room supports the map, so I've been generating a few missions with that. What a superb tool that is! -
Pretty much no single player missions anywhere for this map?

Thanks Minsky. How could I have checked for the usual IA missions before diving in? I'm not talking about Payware or Campaigns, etc. That would be too much to expect. As I said above, I am simply talking about the usual basic single missions that are available for all other terrains, most of which appeared on day of release. It's been a few months now, hasn't it? I think the map looks beautiful, but that's not the point. I'm glad you are enjoying flying your own missions, but that doesn't get away from the fact that there has always been a good selection of IA missions for all other terrains. We shouldn't have to employ ME to be able to fly the map! -
I just bought this map, and I know it's beta, but I can't say I am anything but disappointed. Apart from the 3 F-14 missions, there doesn't appear to be ANY single player missions anywhere! (Yes, I know that others can be edited or created in ME, but that's not the point.) Pretty sure that on release other maps all had a reasonable number of some basic missions. How long has this map been out? Is this likely to be rectified soon?

Thanks for the clarification.

Hi @Charly_Owl, I recently posted on the M2000 forum about not being able to get the Weapons SystemCMD Depress to unlock ground targets - as stated in your guide - to work, and I got replies from an expert saying that it doesn't do that in Air to Ground, only Air to Air. Maybe this needs to be corrected? The page references are on the linked thread, but they are p221, p229 and p245. It even says in the RAZBAM manual that depress has no function in Air to Ground - p130. Thanks.
-
Thanks. So, I should inform Chuck that the Air to Ground info is incorrect? It certainly works for Air to Air OK.
-
Yep, you're correct. Download and install the latest version you mentioned, then update the firmware for both your new throttle and CM2 base/stick. I would recommend creating a new profile as occasionally things don't transfer from older software, but try importing your existing profile and see if it's OK.
-
Interesting. So is it an error in the other places in that guide as well? He states this for other air to ground modes too - INS CCRP p229, GBU bombs p245?
-
Thanks for that. In Chuck's guide - see attached p221 section 16 - and other guides/vids, it says it should work, so I'm a little confused. Pressing aft just returns to nav mode.
-
I read that Weapons SystemCMD Depress should unlock ground targets, e.g. in CCRP runs, but it doesn't seem to work for me. Should it?
-
That version is about 2 years out of date. Use 220720 and update all devices. Make sure you export your profile from the old version first for your stick. I imagine the CM3 throttle will already be up to date. As I said, there is no technical reason for only having one device connected when in the software. Over the years, I have never disconnected any device. It’s just a precaution in case you select the wrong device. No harm in doing it, but definitely not necessary.
-
I would advise running the current build of the software/firmware, and update both your devices. Assuming you are not running some ancient version of the software, you will be able to import your stick profile into the new version. As an aside, you don't have to connect/disconnect devices when running the software. That advice is only precautionary in case you select the wrong device etc. There is no technical reason for doing it.
-
Thank you! I'm sure that's exactly what it is! I think I was switching it from the central position to the left thinking that was G.
-
Often in a cold start, the revs start going up, I move the throttle to idle around 10%, the revs continue to go up to around 20-30%, but then start going down again to 0% and the start fails. I know it's something I'm doing wrong. Any ideas on what causes this to happen?
-
Although I can’t see any reason why you shouldn’t update the stick to latest software, no, you don’t have to update. Your stick and throttle can have different firmware versions if you want. But, if you want to make changes to the devices, then you will have to have 2 versions of the software installed.

reported earlier Kneeboard folder for Syria map PLS
imacken replied to 303_Vins's topic in DCS: Syria Map
Yep, I asked for the fixed file to try out at my own risk, but, sadly, no joy.
