Pretty much no single player missions anywhere for this map?
imacken replied to imacken's topic in South Atlantic
Thanks a lot for that. The addition of the usual DCS IA missions would be a great boon for everyone wanting to use the map. -
reported earlier Kneeboard folder for Syria map PLS
imacken replied to 303_Vins's topic in DCS: Syria Map
And..... guess what? Yep, you're correct no kneeboard Syria map update in todays OB. What was a joke, has now turned into a total farce. -
Hi @jonsky7, don't know what colour your using for text, but it's impossible to read in the forum's dark mode which a lot of us use. See attached.
-
Got you! That makes sense. The thing is, if you bind your twist axis and pedals to rudder, you can chose either at any time. Both will work always.
-
I'm being a bit slow on this, but why would he want to bind the z axis to rudder if he wants to use the pedals for rudder?
-
I don't really understand your question. Do you use the twist axis at all? If no, then just disable it in the VPC software, if yes, then just don't bind rudder to it in-game and bind your pedals instead. Sorry if I am misunderstanding!
-
Yes, you’ve done all the right things. One of the great things about DCS - unlike other flight sims - is that it will accept the same input as axis or button without conflict.
-
Just spotted another minor error. On P187, it says that button PB20 'MODE' selects the radar mode, but that button is not modelled in DCS. It is PB5 that selects the radar mode.
-
Pretty sure you can’t have axis to button functionality without the axis being active. All axes can be axes and buttons at the same time. Don’t see why you would want to disable the axis.

@Charly_OwlBignewy has set the thread I posted in the Hornet forum on this as 'investigating'. After searching everywhere I can, I see no evidence of a snowplough mode in the ATFLIR, and certainly no mention of anything that drops to -8 degrees. Double clicking from VVSLV takes the ATFLIR into INR mode.

investigating Snowplough behaviour in ATFLIR - bug or correct?

Thanks. I don't think this mode is mentioned in ED's manual. -
investigating Snowplough behaviour in ATFLIR - bug or correct?
imacken replied to imacken's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thanks @BIGNEWY, but that's not my point. Slaving to VVI works perfectly OK, it's the snowplough mode I'm talking about, i.e. a double press of undesignate from VVSLV. In the Litening FLIR, double pressing undesignate from VVSLV goes to snowplough and drops the vertical angle to -8 degrees. In Chuck's guide on p318, it says that the same behaviour should be seen using the ATFLIR. (See point 5 in attachment). I'm not seeing that. In the ATFLIR, snowplough mode remains at the same vertical (up/down) angle as the VVI. I'm wondering which is the correct behaviour, as it is currently in the module, or as described by @Charly_Owl. -

I posted elsewhere but got no response, so I guess I'll ask if this is a bug or correct behaviour here. -
In-Game Scratchpad Mod Available - Works Great In VR!
imacken replied to Fubarbrickdust's topic in Virtual Reality
Checklists like that are probably easier/more accessible using the kneeboard, but whatever works for you is good! -
As I replied to your query in the other thread: Yes, you just go to DCS Controls, click on Modifier, add in your E1 and E2 press buttons, then just bind the modifier and the cw/ccw turn on E1/E2 and you have what you want to do.

Sorry about late reply, I was away for a couple of days. Yes, you just go to DCS Controls, click on Modifier, add in your E1 and E2 press buttons, then just bind the modifier and the cw/ccw turn on E1/E2 and you have what you want to do. -
CM3 throttle - FA/18 - Latest Virpil software: help
imacken replied to Double Dutch's topic in VIRPIL Controls
My guide wasn’t really about adding buttons, it was about setting up the detents making use of new features in the software. Not sure what you mean by ‘additional functionality’. Can you expand a bit? -

Just look at my first post about setting up detents here. My method works well for me and has helped others it might be useful for you -

It’s the same except that you can’t define the button number. Auto assigned now. -
investigating Snowplough behaviour in ATFLIR - bug or correct?
imacken replied to imacken's topic in Bugs and Problems
No one? I'll maybe post in the bugs section to check if this is correct behaviour or not. -
Pretty convinced now that after looking around, there isn't a snowplough mode for the ATFLIR that changes the l/r/u/d angle. Litening, yes, ATFLIR no. See post above, and p453 in ED's manual for the description of tracking modes and behaviour of undesignate button. Double pressing undesignate when in VVSLV changes to INR.
-
I put out the question on the Hornet forum, but I did see this from @Frederfon the beta team. This suggests there is no snowplough mode on the AT FLIR.
-
In Chuck's Guide p318, it says that the Snowplough mode goes from VVSLV - by pressing Undesignate twice - to 0 degrees L and -8 degrees down on activation. I'm not seeing that, nor do I see it in YT vids. I know it does that on the Litening Pod, but should it go down 8 degrees in the ATFLIR or is the current behaviour correct?
-
I know what you mean. I think when I looked, the word snowplough is not even in ED manual! I’ll ask in the Hornet forum.
-
My source is my eyes! If I switch from VVSLV to Snowplough there is no change in the l/r/u/d angle. Also, looking at various tutorials on YT, the situation is the same.
