Birdy. This has to be the most amazing thing I've ever seen anyone do in Lockon. How long did this take you ? Have we tested this online ? Are we sure its consistent for player and clients ? Are the trains ever late ?

Makes something like Norton's Ghost seem worth the money. I hope you sorted yourself out. BTW. If you want to use the same starfoce registration save in future. Be sure to use the same username and computer name after a format. This may have been the original problem.

Yay! Never posted a thousand posts on any forum before so a little landmark for me :pilotfly:

That was a good effort GG. However that early version had some serious flaws in the sam defenses which have since been rectified. Also an organised opposing team would make things a littel tuffer im sure.

thank you for the correction.

How big is the online comunity
Ice replied to zaGURUinzaSKY's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
For all sims? try tens of thousands. Lockon Id guess about 500 give or take at any one time. -
For those of you who would like to take Lock On a step further than Air Quake. A couple of years ago the 169th had a little squad fight against another squad whom I havent seen since most likely and forget who they were anyway. As they left licking their paws the last one made a sarcastic coment that the only reason we won was because we were using the F10 view off the server as a type of Gods view or EWR. I immediately turned it off from that point onward because the last thing I wanted was any chance of mistrust or the chance of someone accusing us again after winnig a fair fight. It was an easy decision. The map served no benifit. there are plenty of alternatives which have all been stated in this thread. As some of you may notice I even go to the troupble of making maps available for everyone top maximise theitr SA and its a fun, fair fight for all. A month ago or more I politely informed a senior member of the =IA= the problems leaving the map view on can cause. I fully expected there to be a reaction of slight surprise and "Oh I never knew that" We'll turn it off next time we restart the mission. In actual fact that WAS the reaction I got at the time. Anyway 2 or 3 weeks went by and the IA are still using the F10 view? This really did amaze me. Whats the point I thought? Why would you leave it on. So I paged Cali in private and asked him to remind whoever is in charge of the potential problem thinking it was just an oversite. I finally made a post in the IA forums making it clear with a screenshot as to what could be happening by observers or admin. IA already use EWR on their missions and thats fine. But the possibility of clients or any admin being able to exploit this unecessary option annoyed me and I decided to make my squadron members aware of the situation and advised them to "enter at own risk". All this veiled speach and and indirect backstabbing of me is quite laughable. To the IA. If you want to leave the F10 view on thats up to you even though its seems obvious that the majority want it off and Id estimate half who said leave it on dont "get it" anyway. My advise is turn all icons on for everyone or turn F10 off all together. If you dont then expect me and other leaders to warn their team mates of the what "could" be happening. If I dont feel comfortable flying in there. Then its only natural that I will tell my colleagues why. That is our right just as much as is yours to run your preferred settings. Even if they dont make any sense. Ive watched with light hearted amusement how this subject has touched a nerve. Until it started to get personal. Cali said that I said IA cheat. He may correct his statement but I will correct it for him anyway. I said there is the "potential" to cheat. There is a big difference. I also said that I believe the IA to be an honorable squadron. Weta. I suggest you verify what was said from the "horses mouth" before you start slinging abuse next time.

[DEDICATED SERVER] Start LO without 3D card
Ice replied to Doug's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
You need a 3d card in the server. there is no dedicated server version of Lock On. -
Fighter Ops Delayed!?!?! I dont believe it. :megalol:  :music_whistling: :joystick: :pilotfly:

No one here has grasped the problem. Enabling the map view with absolutely NO ICONS at all means: Clicking FLY as an OBSERVER gives you all information. You see EVERYTHING! The other problem is The DEDICATED SERVER can see EVERYTHING. Switching off Map View (F10) removes any possiblility of clients or Hosts exploiting this feature. Leaving the map view on with NO ICONS serves no purpose. Its just a map. Anyone can print a map and use that just as effectively.

GTR2 has no chance against rFactor. Why? Because rFactor is community controlled. Mods are free and amde by the community. Needless to say the physics are tweaked to be be much more realistic as opposed to "easy to drive"

GTR2 does not compare to this.. V8 SuperCars

Jet Sims Falcon3 The first Combat Jet "Simulation" EF2000 by DiD. The first "Clickable Pit" Here I learnt to use mouse in left hand. F22 by DiD. An ok sim but quickly moved to HK Hornet Korea (Member of the 11th Black Knights) Here is where I Discovered my Online flying skills in Kali. Jane's F15 This was where I formed the 169th Panthers in 1998. The 111th never warmed to this sim but for me it was the best online experience yet. The Pig as we affectionately called her was a real handful to fly well. Jane's F18 The magical F18. Even with its ordinary net code. Up until it was hacked to death. Some of the best online experiences were here and Janes Combat net. Falcon4 1.06 Never liked it for online human v Human. Fun for ground pounding. Lock On Speaks for itself. The best net code. Most realisitic flight models and terrain to date. Prop Sims: 1942 Pacific Air War I think it was called. Very good for its time with carrier landings Hellcats and Zeros IL2, Forgotten Battles, Aces Expansion Pack For a jet sim squad the 169th proved to be one of the most feared squadron in prop sims as well. 169th Dropped IL2 as soon as LOMAC Came out. It was just a stop gap waiting for lockon.

If you are talkng about the blue Camera pod. Least thats what I think it is. I'm not an A-10 expert. It will be a separeate object in the DDS files. You'll need to either hunt it down or wait for someone else to tell you witch graphic it is.
